I only stayed for 10 hours (Omaha->LA->Omaha business quicky), but I enjoyed every minute of my stay My room was clean, modern, spacious, and comfortable Thai delivery was nearby and available at 1:30 AM, as were breakfast pastries

You get a breakfast “swag bag” in the morning which has a decent burrito with a few sides thrown in I didn’t have time to swim, but the pool looked great Will definitely return, hopefully for a longer stay

Player Panda

The lady at the front desk was not nice when we checked out But when we were checking in the guy there was very nice The lady who was cleaning was also nice

It is a non smoking hotel, but we woke up to a strong smell of weed I like the parking garage, it was weird but it made me feel safe It was ok, probably the safest hotel It was also the cheapest in the area If you don’t mind maybe smelling some weed I recommend

First thing that stood out to me was the amazing customer service! I stayed here May 21st and did a late check in at around 9 pm there was a young lady and young man working they did an amazing job with assisting me Everything went so smoothly the next morning the same young lady helped me again as well! the property is beautiful and so are the rooms! Will def be staying here more often! Thank you Residence Inn LA Redondo Beach for everything!!

Jon Beacher

I was afraid of the road noise facing the highway, but they have double glass city windows that drowns out all the car noise The bed was very comfortable and stellar free breakfast The lobby has a very homely feel with a fireplace and many tables

Fire pit outside was amazing and the front desk people are charming I would definitely stay here again

Morgan Roberts

It wasn’t great It was average You get what you pay for so don’t expect much

This isn’t a luxury hotel They charge 20 a night for parking, which seems a little expensive and unnecessary for self park The hot breakfast only existed for 2 mornings The rest was pre packaged sandwiches Room was 50 feet from fwy and loud Customer service was the best part and the comfy beds!

The beds are the absolute worse! The bed is extremely hard, you can feel every spring digging into your back, makes the loudest noise with every move! It was hard to stay asleep when you u consciously shift in your sleep If you have back problems this will definitely make you sufferI advised the staff serval times and even 1 week ahead of time

I would require a 1st floor room with immediate access to outside since I have trouble with stairs due to an injury When it was time to check in they said I had to go a second floor room, that had no immediate access to outside for fresh air When I went to complain because it’s difficult and painful to go up and down stairs, they brushed me off with the absolute worst customer service No sorrys just shrugs and oh wells Even got some attitude when I complain that I kept checking in to make sure they know I needed an outside room being on the first floor, can you believe that?!They have a tiny little trash can for their kitchen which is ridiculous since you can fit anything in it especially when you have an entire kitchen The cooking ware looks very run downAlso I find it very awkward and weird how the vents are so conveniently facing the bed, which I advised y’all checking before doing anythingAlso the room we were in had this huge window that faces the living room and part of the bedroom And the ONLY curtain u can close was a SHEER SEE THRU curtain!!!!!! Talk about not being able to walk comfortably thru the room without the possibility of someone looking inside! It was beyond stupid and lack of privacy!I found it very inconvenient and weird how the card you use to open your room can be deactivated if accidentally brushed against your phoneI’m also shocked there was no jacuzzi, very disappointedAlso found yellow stains on our white bed It looked fresh and it made me feel disgustedTheir breakfast was not appetizing, if you take the risk of staying here , you will see what I mean when you go down to breakfastOverall I don’t recommend coming here Sticking with the resident inn by Marriott As someone who is well traveled, this is not the place

Staff here were extremely friendly during my stay You get what you pay for here, but for a place to stay at such a cheap price it wasn’t too bad I didn’t like the bugs at all here and the towels were dirty and coated with orange dust like cheetos or something

Recommended if it’s your last resort Again people were nice, not security deposit and free parking for hotel guests

Pavan J Patel

Great place to stay! I had a reservation at the wave hotel only to find out they didn’t have room for me Glad it happened because I found this place The staff are great, the rooms are spacious, and it’s very close to everything

Nice restaurants right across the street You can’t beat the value of this place, and the staff are very accommodating

Michael Rodriguez

The stay at this hotel was excellent Staff were friendly and the amenities were very enjoyable My wife and I played basketball, worked out at the gym, went in the pool and hot tub, enjoyed watching some football in the lounge, and enjoyed a peaceful outside sitting area near a fireplace at night

We also have to thank our front desk check in associate extra as we let her know we were on our honeymoon and she provided us with complimentary free breakfast for our stay to celebrate! Along with all this, the room was clean and modern, with a TV and desk and even a mini-refrigerator Being on the top floor came with an excellent view of Hawthorne as well!

Yousef A. Almubarak

Clean and good hotel near the airportSpacious lobby and friendly staffClean spacious room with good amenities

The gym is good as wellThe place is well located near the airport but with no noise at all There is plenty of stores nearbyThey have also a bar where you can order drinks/sandwiches but no buffetThe only downside was the smoking smell in the room despite being smoking free facility

Larissa

Parking, lobby environment, and bed is great!!!! We just stayed for one night However, the bathroom shower floor was dirty Like actual dirty foot prints inside the shower and dirt accumulating on the side

Not sure why half of the door of shower was missing Super Weird design Water gets on the floor Also some of the lights were not working for a bit, had to call front desk In my opinion Not worth the price for my room A deposit is required!! Ask for receipt before you leave!!! I did enjoy the environment though Didn’t hear any noises on the fifth floor

It’s reasonably priced for LA The rooms do not have microwaves, irons or ironing boards, they do not have a free breakfast bar, but offer 1 free dinner instead (oriental meal) The rooms are nice with heated bidets

They do honor AARP discounts, a plus in my favor Other than the few short commings I rate it 5 stars for excellent service

S P

This is a follow up to New Gardena Hotel’s reply to my original post I was very specific in regards to my review as being a LATE review in my original postHotel stated ” in fairness, it has been more than 3 years since you stayed in our hotel

“Of course it has been years Why would I stay at the hotel again after what happened?

Such an Exquisite Hotel and Grandeur presence Entire hotel immaculate and rooms are well appointed I like that the sink is outside/separate of the shower and toilet area

The shutter that divides the two beds is a genius idea The decor is elegant and traditional but yet felt modern The room size was massive for a standard double room It felt like a 500 sq ft room The coffee in the room was very goodUnfortunately, we only stayed one day and arrived late so we didn’t get to eat at the restaurant or enjoyed the outside courtyard nor the many areas to explore and to just relax and soak in the atmosphere We did, however, get to enjoy the fireplace while having a late night snack I would highly recommend eating at the restaurant as the food smelled heavenly Additionally, there are many shopping centers/plaza across the street which we didn’t get to take advantage of as well The entire area is completely safe and very well lit as it is a very lively town The hotel does have a private parking for a fee I will definitely come back and stay longer

Lisa Ford

Ayres Hotel is comfortable and homely Staff are friendly and we loved the pool and spa Rooms were serviced daily and everything was spotlessly clean and today

Location is good, next time I would ask for a room not overlooking the freeway Stayed here with my husband and adult son Plenty of room for the three of us and privacy between the beds and the shutters were a great idea We will be back!

Lynne Henley

The employee that was on the desk the night of my arrival was very professional and he greeted me with a sincere and warm welcome I was so exhausted from the work day, that he had to literally verbally guide me to my room The room was exceptionally clean throughout which made the night very relaxing for me

I will truly recommend this hotel to my guest and use it again for local retreats

We stayed in the private room and had very mixed feelings about the placeLocation: we loved the location during the day It was super convenient, and we loved walking all around OB

Unfortunately at night it was so loud it was impossible to sleep There is no A/C, so you have to leave the windows open The entire room was shaking from the noise until at least 2amCleanliness: the sheets seemed to be freshly laundered but as we were leaving, we found trash from a previous visitor under the bed The bathroom was decently clean but definitely not the most clean hostel I’ve ever stayed atComfort: this is where we had the biggest problem The bed was rock hard I’m not sure if they had other rooms available because they charge $20 to change rooms after check inJust another thing to be aware of They have a policy where you can’t have anything but water in your room Not a huge deal, but we do enjoy takeout occasionally after a long day of traveling, so it was a bit annoyingOverall we wouldn’t stay there again, but you won’t find anything as cheap in the area

Anthony Tilley

First, Fantastic location! If you’re going to be up partying all night then this is the place for you The downside is that the hostel is literally over a live music bar that plays all night so if you are more of an early riser then maybe look elsewhere The bed and walls vibrated with music, ear plugs are not enough

Also the private room wasn’t as clean as I would have hoped but not terrible compared to other hostels

John Ryan Barnhart

Surf City Hostel features two separate lounge areas, a communal bathroom + showers, plus one and a half that are private if that’s more your preference (body wash + shampoo are included free of charge) I felt super safe and secure in the hostel as the front/back entrance are closed in the evening and reception is open until 2:00am There is a locked luggage storage room and lockers located inside each room

The whole hostel is cleaned daily The wifi was fast enough to work remotely and complete my schoolwork There are bars, restaurants, and cafes all centrally-located right below the hostelAngelica was inviting and welcoming, she knew every answer to any question about activities & happenings in the area Audrey is an absolute customer service master – she always has fun stories and informational tidbits to make the most out of your stay All of the volunteers were an absolute pleasure in every way and meeting them offered a chance to learn about different cultures and languages (I learned a bit of French during my stay, and was able to practice my Spanish) 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking to enjoy their stay away from home Thanks Surf City Hostel, maybe next time I will actually go surfing 😉

Sorry this review is long but it is a helpful review and hopefully will answer a lot of questions I will book this hotel again for sure While looking for a hotel for our family vacation my husband wanted a Double Tree or Hilton but honestly this being a 3 star hotel, with a Google rating of 4

5 stars, I think I got a better deal here at this Best Western Especially compared to $400 a night Nah we got a way better deal and way better bang for our buck here at the Best Western The rooms were clean and at the price I booked I thought I was just getting 2 beds and a desk, but I actually got a loveseat, and 3 chairs not counting the chair that was with the desk Lamps so I didn’t have to have to have the room super bright I was able to also have it nice and dim Great AC We booked for 3 nights Room service came everyday even though all we needed was the trash taken out and fresh towels everyday I worked at a Hilton was I was younger and we didn’t even ask guest if they needed fresh towels until the 3rd or 4th day Free parking, we even had 2 cars 24 hour coffee and tea in the lobby No coffee maker in the rooms though I felt that was ok, because going out of my room to the lobby gets me a couple of steps in Have to have your key car for even the elevator to work, which I honestly appreciate the extra security Some may not like that but I don’t blame hotels having to go through extra measures because of misuse of rooms and reasons for booking A wide variety of breakfast options from yogurt and oatmeal to eggs, burritos, pastries, bagels, cereals, waffles, fresh fruit It was even better then the Hilton I used to work at, and that was a new Hotel when I worked there, had only been open 1 year Very kid friendly hotel, the breakfast room has beautiful decor and ample seating for families Me, my husband and 3 kids, (ages 13, 10, 2), very much enjoyed this hotel and seen other families having a good time too

D LC

Had a nice stay here I have to admit the neighborhood looked a little rough when we pulled in, but all the people we met were nice There is only one entrance area with fences everywhere, and they have covered parking

Never had an issue with safetyThere is a taco bell, 7-11, and burger King within walking distance, as well as a gas station There is a food4less and CVS pharmacy around 2 miles awayThe free breakfast was nice, my kids loved the options they had, like cereal, oatmeal, eggs, hashbrowns and pastries They even had a hot chocolate machine, my fav!Rooms were nice and clean The counter in our room had a crack in the side that had collected dirt and looked dingy but not a big deal Just normal wear and tear for a hotel Nice big shower and they gave us orange scented lotions and shampoos Pool was tiny and gets very chilly in the eveningWe drove to Crystal Cove Beach because it was cleaner and more family friendly Took 50 min but worth it Wanted to try the free Getty museum but ran out of time We visited the Old LA Zoo and that was fun Would stay here again for sure

Claudia Rodriguez

Didn’t like the location at first but liked that there’s a few drive thru restaurants near by Rooms were not so clean carpet was dirty

crumbs in the drawers not enough towels and toilet paper no blankets for sofa-bedbreakfast was not the greatest same thing everyday but better than nothing waffles, eggs, sausage, hashbrowns, toast, bagels cereal, oatmeal some fruit breakfast was over at 9 not 10 it ended as soon as everything was gone lady didn’t care to refillparking lot was filthy we saw a couple of hookers on the parking lotbut the rooms were very spacious bigger than other hotels we’ve stayed in beds were comfy but the pillows were tiny and not comfortablemicro and fridge were a plus

Will never book again, their lobby closes at 11pm, and when we tried to call to explain we’d be late, because of flight delays, it was always busy, couldn’t even leave a message, was charged @ mid night for cancellation, when we tried to call again in the morning at 9 when they open, it would still give us the busy line tone, didn’t hear from them until 11 am, which by then we had booked another hotel Terrible service, DO NOT RECOMMEND

Hema M

The worst place I have ever stayed in The room was extremely tiny, don’t be fooled by the pictures The bed was very dirty and had stains all over, and the pillows had brown things on them that looked as either blood or something worse

I don’t recommend this place Also bed bugs My whole body was itching all night and i couldn’t sleep They refused to change my room or even change the sheets, even after showing them the brown stains Their excuse, the lady that cleans the rooms and changes the sheets is not here and won’t be back until tomorrow and all other rooms are taken even though the parking lot was half full I am convinced the good reviews here are fake

WONDERFUL STAY!!! It took me a very long time to choose a place to stay for my solo trip to California Based on views and price, Hi View was the top choice The staff was amazing and kind ! They allowed for a late check out and whenever I needed anything, they ensured I got it ! I stayed for 7 days and I had such a pleasant stay

The bathroom is newly renovated and I loved the large mirror with great lighting It is not run down at all, the rooms are spacious and even had a couch in it ! Clean, spacious , great location, great staff, I can not say enough good things! Also only a 15 minute walk straight to the beach and a 15 minute walk to Target ! I am definitely staying here again!

Stayed a week on Family vacationIn a pretty good location, fairly close to several attractions/entertainment options Beautiful beach within 8min of hotel; Manhattan Beach/Pier (Less busy than Santa Monica)Good staff service, with good breakfast, and reception food n beverage options

The Hotel does a decent job keeping the facility and rooms clean Just needs to be cleaned more frequently, if possible, and a little more thoroughlyOverall, a pretty satisfactory stay for the week!!!

Hai Parnes

The hotel located on the 405 But you don’t hear nothing They’re very kind clean, and just did remodel

Very good service! very recommend!! we had a lot of fun and a answer of all our requestLess good: If the Check is in 15:00 the room will not be ready before! also we were there 14 nights and the GYM where close because of broken mirror that didn’t fixed!but still we are recommended for this place the feeling it’s good you will love it

JF FK

Overall the staff in the kitchen area really made our stay pleasant The Mexican and Filipino lady always greeted us with a smile each morning and offered to make waffles prior to it being busy, the free dinner offered from Mon-Thurs was an extra added bonus too, free wine selections and beer craft on tap The ladies offered to take our plates it was next level service

The cleanliness of the hotel was amazing only down fall was the fact that house keeping is only offered on certain days unless you request it with 24hours notice No daily house keeping Parking was $18 per day Another issue I had was they only had one set of elevators so if your room is on the other side of the building it was a far walk to the elevators There was stairs but it could be an issue if you have to carry things up etc overall nice hotel

The hotel is not new, but it is well maintained, and clean The rooms are nice and spacious, and some have small balconies that you can see the ocean Refrigerator in the room, and kurig coffee maker, but if you want use of the hotels single microwave, you have to go to the lobby ( weird )

They have a small exercise room, but the treadmill and bike were both out of order, so it is basically a rack of dumbbells They offer breakfast, but are still using COVID as a excuse to get out of serving it It’s an ok place to stay, but it’s just a room at this point No extras It was $140 a night, and not far from the water 20-30 minute walk, or a 3 minute car ride Honestly, it’s about 3 1/2 stars (Could have been higher, but no breakfast, no microwave in room, and the exercise equipment broken)

Curtains were torn up, room smelled of mildew and the staff was less than “worst service ever” Totally ruined the Quality Inn name for us and will never use this hotel line again after our experience here, despite having been loyal guests for years Spend double and go down the street to anywhere else or you’ll be regretting your whole vacation like it did to ours

Then they wanted to charge a surprise parking fee for using their facility while we were paying guest And it doesn’t end there They kept our deposit claiming a smoking fee when we never smoked on the property at all They are only interested in stealing your money here, from check-in to check-out

We took a random trip to LA for the day, and it was supposed to be for a night We loved this stay so much we stayed and extra 3 days lol But the staff was nice, breakfast was amazing and had plenty of options

Beds super comfy I HIGHLY recommend this place The only issue I had was the pool because it wasn’t very clean, but no one really uses that Overall I loved it

1) The manager Ernesto, is no help I booked this trip on their site King Room asked for a walk in shower

Was told not possible ok fine I will deal with it (Note I booked online paid with 1 CC) Get to the was given another room ok with 2 Queen beds not what I wanted but ok I’m tired and done Used another CC for the “incidentals” Then about 30 mins later get my CC alert they charged for the Room and Incidentals Still unsure if I was charged twice2) After all the drama of getting to the room which I will give credit the beds were comfortable I have a bad knee and back this bed I slept on my back for the 1st time in a while3) Woke up ready to start my day and no water pressure look at the photoI am sorry overall 2 starts because of the bed only This place and most of these IHG hotels need a Customer service overhaul I have more issues that I will not put on this post but they need to think of people 1st let alone customers I see they show they are LGBTQ friendly I appreciate that how about Handicap people friendly? How about understanding real life things happen sometimes last minute They need to think people 1st

This hotel is honestly a joke It was giving motel 6 vibes The pricing of everything (room, parking) and a $200 deposit that WASN’T stated on the website didn’t equate to the overall service being given

Which ALSO, I still have not received my deposit back even though they told me I would receive it when I checked out I checked out last week!-_- I called multiple times and they keep pushing back the days when I should receive it Not only that the Pool was dirty and the cleaning workers did not seem like they wanted to clean my room either If you get paid to do a job, maybe do the job at the best of your ability? Smh

I stay here for 3 nights, and the room was big and nice Great location and front desk ppl Yet I asked to have my room cleaned and NOT ONCE was it cleaned

They also have you pay for parking and there was nowhere to park after paying for my whole stay There was $200 deposit for the room, but the room had nothing in there and still haven’t received it back

Anaseini Aleamotua

Fire alarm went off inside the room, but they weren’t able to help in any way so I had to figure it out myself Room wasn’t cleaned for the whole stay even after asking for services Had to quickly go in to the room to grab my wallet and was told off by the room cleaners that she won’t proceed with the cleaning since I came in for 10 seconds

During the interaction, another guest expressed that she’s been asking them to clean her room for two weeks The bare minimum was barely met and the I only gave the star for the location

This was actually a really nice hotel to stay in The location is close to the beach, and the free breakfast is delicious with lots of different options from waffles, oatmeal, yogurt, eggs, sausage, and more The lobby and the rooms have a contemporary style and are designed nicely

There’s a patio area in the middle of the hotel with many places to sit for fresh air and a firepit The room we got had a small but good-sized kitchen area with appliances and pots and pans The color scheme of the blue walls went well with the California sun beaming during the day The bed was very comfy Only down side is the $200 refundable deposit that we were informed about once we got to the hotel, not when we booked it Also, when we asked for new bedding so the bed could get made while we were out, the cleaning service only remade the bed and didn’t put new sheets on I think you have to just be very specific about that Otherwise, I would stay there again in the future

As soon as I opened the room to my beautiful, spacious suite, everybody exclaimed: “THIS CANNOT BE A BEST WESTERN!” From the friendly, smiling check-in by Sergio to the deluxe bathroom and roomy, tastefully decorated interiors, everything far exceeded expectations The suite allowed for complete privacy and everything looked brand spanking new It was affordable luxury at its best

We loved the high-end decorative touches such as plantation shutters in every window, modern lighting features, and a doorway that overlooked the courtyard The kitchen was fully decked out and every need of the weary traveler was considered in the amenities Bravo! Will never look at Best Western again with a dismissive eye

Our family of 5 had a great time staying here It was clean, conveniently close to everything, and their service was wonderful I’de say the best thing for us was the breakfast, They had so many options (and not the generic stuff you see at most hotels)

A+ for the breakfast staff as well If I had to choose a negative, I’de say the parking situation can be a bit tense since it’s a small underground lot and can fill up fast When we arrived late after our flight was late at around 9pm, all the parking spots were full The front desk woman said we could park in the temp lots on the side of the building with no issue She was right, there was no problem Thanks again!
