I love the Sands! A historic treasure that I found extremely clean with exceptionally helpful and kind employees (everyone I met was wonderful), incredible views, fantastic tiki and restaurant/bar, and a beautifully maintained pool At night time, the lights in this place accentuate and compliment the beautiful property on the water Soothing and welcoming

To be fully transparent and honest, I was a little concerned when I first entered my room because it’s very outdated But there are very few historic hotels that don’t go through periods of transition, and the Sands is in a stage of upgrades What really blew me away is how meticulously maintained this property is The staff works so hard not just to welcome you to the property, but also to ensure all your needs are met and the room you have reserved is meticulously cleaned I was extremely pleased I was extremely comfortable, felt safe, and I slept better at the Sands than I have in nearly any other hotel True story 💜I look forward to returning to the Sands It’s a gem!

Overall I had a good experience It would have been nice if breakfast was available, and for my room to be cleaned I would often need to talk to the cleaning staff myself for my room not to be passed over The front desk gentlemen was professional and made a positive impact on my time here

The location is quiet and I would recommend this place to those not seeking a bustling nightlife Very chill environment If the stars ever align correctly I would like the chance to come back Something to note that wasn’t super clear on some travel sites is that there was a $200 deposit and parking is not included (5 day stay cost me about $120) Something to keep in mind

Very cute hotel/motel steps away from the beach The property is kept clean and plenty of chairs and outdoor dining areas Water pressure and temp in the shower was great and the rooms were pretty modern

A bigger TV would have been nice, but it wasn’t a deal breaker I really liked the outdoor seating because I could sit outside my room for hours and people watch

On arrival you can see the exterior is not well maintained but great effort went into the interior rooms The rooms are really good and comfortable PS bring your own coffee

There was no parking available on arrival The office person came out to help locate a place, but driving a pickup truck I could only open the drivers door and that was a tight squeeze getting in/out We weren’t there for the conforts of a vacation motel so I won’t comment on too much of the hotel itself When we did return to the hotel there was a loud pool party going on, that ended around midnight There was no seurity or staff to manage it or end it As a security minded person this is a sensitive area to comment on publicly I’ll just say a camera system is better then the ring system Area lighting is another suggestion And the room doors/locks should also be addressed Will we stay there again? No It’s a possibility, but it’s the parking that will keep me away from any other future plans

Highly do not recommend this place They have some weird wellness pyramid scheme/seminars going on all day everyday in the cabana You can hear these loud speeches and/or their music in your room! Also our room had a conjoining door and we could hear EVERYTHING from the other room

There was zero privacy and just thank God I had a white noise machine and ear plugs This brings me to anotther issue the street noise is horrible! There was black mold in the shower and the whole room smelled of mildew The shower tile was filthy as was the rooms tile floor

The Hillsboro Beach Resort: WOW It is the most picturesque place Walking out of the hotel towards the pool or beach provides a spectacular view of the ocean

It’s the most quaint and posh resort nestled amongst beautiful mansions and condos We met the General Manager), the bar manager Anthony, Natasha and the head Chef Jason at restaurant Rio, from which we ordered varied items from the lunch menu each day and we were pleased with every mean, Hilber (what was his name?) served us by the pool and at dinner on our last night there The room and view of the Ocean from the balcony was so awesome The maids and staff were attentive and wonderful The property l, staff and amenities are top notch We enjoyed laying in the super plush double cabana each day Really can’t say enough about this place and dying to get back!

I will definitely be back It takes 5 minutes to walk to the Atlantic Ocean from here Deerfield beach is beautiful

I feel so relaxed staying here and it’s gonna be hard to leave Just to give a fair honest review it’s past midnight and I can hear people still hanging out at the pool so noise can be an issue I still love it though The pool is right in the center of the property and the rooms surround it That is the only thing I don’t likeThey really need 24 hour staffUpdate: March 2, 2022 They never refunded the $200 dollars back like they said they would I’m assuming they charged that for people that smoke in the rooms I have never smoked They kept that money for no reason I stayed 6 days and it was around $2,000 dollars

This was the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel The room was not updated like the pictures are online, plus the air conditioning in the rooms are terrible On our second night staying here we found approximately 50 bugs crawling around in our sink and coming from the walls

We went to the front desk and they were not able to do anything that night When we talked to a manager they only could do a 10% discount for that night, even though we were living in unsafe conditions I highly advise against staying here and I will never stay here again

There are parties at the pool by guests nighly until all hour of the morning Four night in a row of 15-20 people checking in and at the pool yelling and partying with no help from management They book low class party people, do not stay hear if going to sleep before midnight is important or if you have kids They do not close the pool at 8PM as advertised and stated at check in

We enjoyed our stay at this resort They Valet outside was great and patient as we waited for the rest of our party, our receptionist, Jason was top notch getting us accommodated

It is a little pricey, with parking and views, but so is everything in south Florida on beachfront resorts Our room was phenomenal and spacious! Also, there were free drinks at bar during happy hour! We were extremely happy with our stay!

This is my first time in this hotel and it was a tremendous experience Everyone that works there is very professional, courteous, nice, and friendly But there are two people in particular that I have to say that they stood out above everyone else

Those two people are the bartender named Renee and the front desk named Cristian They both have excellent costumer service, extremely attentive, very nice and friendly as well as very caring and always going out of their way to make your stay the most perfect one that you can have I am very much impressed with them both because now a days you do not come across employees like that I hope that they both stay at this hotel as long as possible and that they both get a raise and that your company sees that they are both very good assets Thank you very much

We are currently on night 3 of a 4 night stay here It is absolutely wonderful I have stayed at many hotels and this one has been an amazing value

I read many, many reviews before booking and I haven’t encountered any of the issues shared by the negative reviews The front desk staff has been so friendly and accommodating The location is perfect- right on the beach with views from our balcony It is about a 15 minute walk to restaurants and amenities in the main part of Pompano Beach, but a 5 minute drive The pool area is beautiful and continuous with the beach, which is perfect for my small children to choose between beach and pool time The breakfast quality has been delicious with many options, even gluten free! And the breakfast staff have been amazing too The room is huge and has everything you need for a longer stay- a kitchen with a full size fridge and a washer and dryer are huge perks for us, travelling with small kids The beds are very comfortable Some reviews have mentioned outdated furniture It’s not the newest, but it is perfectly functional and for me I’d rather pay an affordable price than have a bunch of fancy stuff You do have to pay nightly for valet parking but they are super fast and we have enjoyed having that as a service to make our stay even easier Will 100% be back

This was the nicest Residence Inn I have seen They did not have my room ready but the front attendant invited me to go to the beach and hang there until the room was ready As I went to the beach, I was given towels and the staff at the beach set me up with lounge chairs and umbrellas

The hotel has a cool restaurant, it is on the water, and the view is oceanfront in majority of the rooms By the way, it is probably because it is off season, but it was less than $170 per night I will definitely comeback and stay here

Stayed here this past weekend The view was great and so was the roomThe pool bartender Claudia was amazing, do not go to anyone else

The tall African American man who fixes the chairs in the morning is also wonderful, I did not get his name Both of these workers went out of their way to make sure our days were as best as possible, I loved being around both of them so much The service at the pool was fast, you were always asked what you needed and the place was very very clean Also, hit the coffee station in the morning Drinks are good and so are the workersThe only thing I would make note of when coming here is you will not be able to check in earlier or later than they say My boyfriend had surgery a few weeks before and I asked if they could check us in earlier and they could not I know our situation was out of the ordinary but it is something that people should know if they have a similar situation They also tell me you can pay to extend your stay the day you leave, but the day of told me I could not If you have any sort of personable accommodations you need from a hotel, I would not bank on this hotelOverall, I would stay here again You do not have to leave for meals or drinks and there is a story across the street that has little snacks and drinks if needed

The BEST hotel/resort Really a resort!! EVERYONE is so kind and courteous! Special shout out to Amara at the front desk- she is the absolute sweetest and kindest!! Wait service at the beach and IN the pool The entire resort has this amazing smell piped in and they sell candles in the scent!! Can’t recommend this resort enough! 10 out of 5!!

We booked for a bride’s party to get ready before the ceremony We had a junior suite with an ocean view The view is gorgeous!!! However, the bathroom is completely and ridiculously outdated

The furniture is outdated and dirty! The servicenon existent! They actually disable the phone so that the room service button doesn’t work We needed champagne glasses so the bride had to walk down to the front desk where 3 employees continued to text on their phones and could care less She was told to go to the outside bar, where the bartender was very nice but very busy and had no champagne glasses at her bar For an over $530 dollar room, the service and amenities should be much better than it was
