Ken, Jason and Kaitlyn (just for starters) are absolutely amazing!! I stayed here for 6 months and these are some of the best people I’ve ever met in the hotel industry Anytime there was ever a concern it was immediately resolved The hotel was kept immaculate and the staff were highly professional and pleasant to deal with

If I ever need another hotel in Martinsburg area there is nowhere else I would ever stay!!! Thank you guys for truly making my stay my home away from home!!!

Christian Harshman (Pearls)

Highly don’t recommend, first night in the hotel room and had 2 fleas in the bed b4 I even laid down Bedding had a lot of snags I’m aware they allow dogs in their hotel which is absolutely fine

The dogs behaved better than other customers Some of their employees are rude I had a situation and one employee told me one thing and another told me different There is absolutely no communication between staff I also had the do not disturb tag on my door and the cleaning staff came right in and of course said house keeping and I said I was in the room she apologized then said your not on a late checkout time I said I’m aware it is only 11am and my confirmation email said check out at 12pm Never again will I support a Hilton hotel! Only thing good about it was the location

Rodney Sweat

Clean and modern feel Staff were very friendly and accommodating of questions and requests Nice lobby area with kiosk PC and printer

Pool was small but clean and well setupRoom was very spacious with kitchenette, sofa and ottoman, king bed LED lighting was bright and not harsh like those awful CFL things most hotels useOnly small negative is that I need an early out and breakfast does not start until 7:00am, but they sent me over to the nearby Hampton Inn that starts serving at 6:00I will be up in the area a bit more often, and will try to stay at this hotel

Vicky Alexander

Our new hotel! It’s so clean, like smells like you just cleaned your house clean, not bleach clean If you’re in Charlestown, don’t even look anywhere else! I can’t say enough good things about this place, super friendly staff We’re here to try out the casino and it’s right there beside it

But I’m most impressed with the hotel itself cleanliness myself! IHOP in walking distance, gas Can’t bet it Will add video soon Love our room too!

Robert Wagner

We needed a place to crash after a busy day of visiting battlefields Could not find a parking place in Harper’s Ferry and HOME 2 SUITES CHARLES TOWN saved the day Great place to sleep

The staff was friendly and accomidating The room was clean with plenty of hot water We had a continental breakfast that was better than the Ihop next door

My husband and I recently spent a 3-day weekend at the Inn made for the perfect get away Convenient from the suburbs of Washington DC, a one-hour drive took us to this wonderful spot along the Potomac and the beauty of West Virginia Everything was first-rate and provided a perfect setting to rest, relax and enjoy good food and a relaxed atmosphere

The rooms were spacious, the staff extremely welcoming and helpful, the wait-staff was every bit as good as the food, with a varied menu that didn’t try too hard and did everything we tried very well The pool was a big favorite and the bar and setting exuded a vibe that screamed “relax and enjoy” We did!! For such a laid-back setting it was apparent that the place is extremely well run, with great attention to detail, and did I mention that the staff was just outstanding – attentive, friendly and efficient We even enjoyed views of two different bald eagles from our room and the pool The guests ran from young couples to middle-age folks, reflecting the wide appeal of a well-run resort for those simply looking to get away and chill Perhaps most impressive, our stay coincided with a very large birthday party but the level of service afforded to all guests didn’t miss a beat What a find!

Shirley Stinchcomb

We had an awesome girls getaway here! All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating! We had a gorgeous view from our little balcony overlooking the Potomac! Everything was clean and the view in the pool is beyond words! Food in the dining room was excellent as was the breakfast and the crab pretzel poolside! A nice walk to the park and to town for lunch and only about 15 minute drive to Harpers Ferry Beds were super comfortable too! This will definitely be a repeat experience for us! Highly recommend!

Linda Caricofe

This is one of our favorite get awaysThe Chalet we enjoy has a whirlpool bath, well appointed bathroom with folding door entrance, double vanity sinkKing size four poster bed, a gas fireplace , even a little sitting room sectionThe balcony views are amazing

We dined there for dinnerThe menu has changed since the last time we dined thereWe could not really see any entrees to interest us except the crab cakes, which were excellentThe Triple Sec cheesecake dessert was best of show yummy !Breakfast the next day was beyond wonderfulWe both think this place is well worth many repeat stays in the future

My husband and I were there on Friday, Sept 10We absolutely do not understand the negative reviews about this place

It is an older hotel but kept up nicelyCheck in staff was extremely friendly, professional and promptOur room was clean, comfortable and the bathroom was spic and span (my personal standard)The reason for a 4 was the breakfast was nice, however could have been refreshed a bit sooner than was Some hot things were quite cool and cold fruit all but gone and tepid Not a huge deal at all Staff members were more than happy to accommodate As nearly everywhere, employees are stretched as they were not fully staffedWe would definitely stay there again and recommend Thanks very much

Brian Wilson

They will cancel your reservation 2 days before because they are overbooked even though I booked a month before GM was rude when I asked why and she said it was an emergency I called Hotels

com and that’s how I found out they overbooked Hotelscom booked me into the Home2 Suites which is way nicer I stayed at the Ramada last year but will never be back especially after staying at this hotel it’s a world of difference

Eva Allen

Outside and lobby looked wonderful Great restaurant nextdoor and all around Pretty nice place other than not any blanket on the bed

Carpet in elevators were dirty and coming apart I expected more from a Ramada Looks like they could spend a little money on elevator carpet So much noise from other guest it was hard to fall asleep

My husband and I stayed the night while traveling on the road and are so glad we went with this place!! The room was beautiful and very clean and spacious, and it was stocked with everything we needed and more Staff are extremely friendly, the breakfast had great variety and was delicious, and the surroundings made us feel safe We were given the last available king suite that evening and were so grateful for the helpfulness of the front desk attendant

Overall it was worth every penny and I would definitely have stayed longer and recommend this place for whatever your needs are!!

RUSSELL HENNINGER SR

Excellent stay here, dated but very well maintained Staff friendly and courteous, hot breakfast is normal fair My only regret is that in the “Special Requests ” are not honored

Ask for a room on first floor near an exit and when I arrived was told that they were booked up the night before I made this reservation weeks in advance, my guess is “Corporate Accounts ” have priority over regular reservations

Krista Pito

THERE ARE CHEAPER HOTELS THAT ARE NICERThe lobby is very well kept and welcoming and there are lots of good food choices nearby The beds are very hard though and the shower in my room was broken

The handle would fall when you tried to adjust the water temperature so it would only come out in one scalding temperature There was also a used soap bar left in the shower which is particularly unsettling Choose somewhere else!

The staff was very welcoming–spoke to a few of the staff members and they were very helpful and made my check-in and check-out very easy for me I stayed in a pet-friendly room that was a little dated but clean and the bed was very comfortable I would give this place 5 stars except for a few minor things- the wallpaper in the room was bubbling or looked like it was coming off in spots, the refrigerator in the room had some grime in it, and this is more of a suggestion–for pet-friendly rooms, maybe don’t have carpeting but like a pergo or something like that (easier to clean and won’t capture odors as much) Either way I very much enjoyed my stay and I will definitely be back!

K Morehead

This was the worst hotel experience I’ve had in a long time I do understand it was busy, but my room had dirty walls, curtains, and sheets Hair and stain on mattress topper and sheets

Scotch tape used on the wall to hold the seam of the wallpaper downI requested clean sheets, the sheets given were also stained We did not feel comfortable using the bathroom to shower the next dayThe microwave was filthy, the cushions on the seats were soiled It was an unpleasant experience all the way around

Dennis s

When we entered the lobby, we were met by Rachel who greeted us with a big smile She efficiently checked us in literally within a minute Our paperwork was preprinted, she recognized our diamond status and stated that our amenity points were added while we signed our check-in form

Our room was clean, but hasn’t been updated to the latest version, so there was a lack of USB ports and the outlets were worn out We had to play with them to keep our chargers connected Other than that, the breakfast buffet was sparse They only had scrambled eggs and sausage on the hot line No biscuits and gravy, omelets, home fries, etc that other express locations usually serve Overall, it was not a bad place to stay, but not as nice as others we’ve spent the night at

We stayed at the Carriage Inn for a girls weekend The B&B itself was amazing! Our room was very comfortable, and we loved the delicious breakfasts and afternoon snacks The owners, Marie and Donn, were top-notch hosts who created a comfortable stay and offered the perfect options for sights to see and places to eat

The introductory history of the house was a welcoming touch Charles Town and the surrounding area provided so much for us to see/do Loved all the history and charm of the B&B and the area We plan to return!

Chase Church

Yvonne and John are the most kind and welcoming people who run the sweetest inn It is clean, historic, and down to earth The rooms are amazing but on top of that you are welcome to sit in the sitting room, front porch, and back sitting area to read, talk, eat the pastries Yvonne made extra and drink additional coffee and tea

They make a fabulous prompt breakfast We even had dinner with them and some other super amazing guests, and got to know each other better They are very personable and made us feel right at home! You guys are the best!

Timothy Fournier

Jonathan and Yvonne are probably the best hosts you could ask for They are very friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the house Breakfast was definitely 5 stars

The room was beautiful, clean and the perfect getaway We were amazed by the entire experience We’ll be back I’d recommend it to anyone who wants to experience pampering

Overall we had a good experience Check-in was easy, the room was clean and the king bed was comfortable However, we paid around $140 with our honors discount and we thought breakfast was included

Unfortunately, it was not, it would have cost $10 each After a long wait at the front desk, while two staff members were both engaged in a phone call, we asked and they said our price didn’t include breakfast If we return to this area, I would stay at a less expensive hotel that includes hot breakfast

Robin Wilder

The staff was amazing very accommodating and friendly they have a modest bar which is open from 5 to 10 I had a crown and ginger ale and it was delicous My family of 10 enjoyed the pool the room temperature was warm which kept us from freezing when we got out and we appreciated having it all to ourselves as it really seemed only one other family would be able to join us provided they had no more than 4 or 5 members

at that point we would have all been on top of each other but it probably would have made for a great game of chicken We opted for a room with 2 beds and considering the price I was hoping for a pretty decent view instead we were facing the air duct the comfy beds made up for the ugly view Also the fact that the TV was on a swivel so the glare from the window didn’t cause much trouble All in all our stay was amazing

James C Reynolds

This Hilton Garden Inn is one of the newest, I believe it is a year old Rooms are great, clean, soft beds, big TVs Service has always been friendly

One small disadvantage is that they still do not have room service, and their restaurant is not open on SundaysMy biggest beef with the hotel is the way it was designed It was built with banquet/conference space, and that’s on the far end of the bldg and beyond that sits their sizeable parking lot I drive a truck and most of the time I haul a trailer Parking is NOT the issue The issue is that it is a good 500ft walk up a small incline to the front door And in the summer heat it is a brutal walk especially when you are carrying multiple bags On my second trip I noticed a back entrance to the hotel right next to the elevators, however there is no walkway to the lot, so you have to walk through the grass 200ft to get to the lot

Stayed here for a few nights while my house was being worked on and it was comfortable The complimentary breakfast was amazing There was a large selection and the food was genuinely good

The bathroom in the room needs to be deep cleaned and renovated There was a mystery stain on the ceiling above the shower and the caulk was peeling and gross in many spots The wallpaper was also peeling and damaged in a lot of spots The room was really humid and no exhaust fan in the bathroom I would probably not stay again due to the bathrooms

I wish I could put 45 stars To start the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful in the check in process

There was some confusion (on my part, not the hotel) with our reservation The receptionist and another member of the staff helped me right through it and were actually fun to deal with The rooms was clean, comfortable and nicely laid out Pillows were pretty pathetic and the bed comfort was average – maybe a step above The gym looked pretty nice, but I didn’t have the opportunity to use it I also feel the room was a good value in a very convenient location

molly long

This is our go-to hotel My boyfriend drives tractor trailer so we stay at hotels quite frequently Rooms are very clean and comfortable

The complimentary breakfast is wonderful and it’s not just pastries and cereal, they always have eggs and sausage, or bacon in addition to waffles and an array of cereal and pastries Not to mention coffee is available anytime Staff is always eager to help We had a misunderstanding the other day over check in, and the gentleman that came in for second shift went above and beyond to accommodate us I saw a few reviews giving low scores for the smell of marijuana I’ve smelled it faintly in the hallway before, but never in our room FYI: you can’t go anywhere anymore without smelling Marijuana I stayed at the Hyatt last week and I smelled it more there than I ever have here so if you think paying more money will eliminate that, good luck to you, lol

Melissa Johnson

We absolutely love Country Inn & Suites! Every time we’ve stayed in one, we’ve have a good experience They’re friendly and the rooms are always clean Would choose this chain over any other in this price range

Oh and they’re affordable and we always get the size bed that we book (we’ve had a couple where we got 2 queens or a full in two other places when we’ve booked a king, disappointing)

Wayne Rankin

Nice place to stay while visiting Harper’s Ferry Had an issue with our first room where someone was already in it, but was given another without issues Front desk staff always friendly and willing to assist

Pool was heated but cool when we arrived Continental breakfast was standard but we’ll staffed to keep food refilled Would recommend

Krystle Robinson

The hotel was clean and the staff was pleasant I thought the beds were too firm, but my husband thought they were comfortable It is dated, although there are signs saying they are remodeling, so I guess they are in the process of fixing it up

The breakfast wasn’t much to speak of, but it is sufficient Overall, it wasn’t a bad stay, but I don’t think it is a place we would come back to

Blazed Arc

Overall not a bad holiday I’ve stayed in worse but I’ve definitely stayed in better Staff is very friendly and professional

Rooms are clean and updated Gym looks nice, I believe they just got the pool open but hot tub may still be down for repairs Breakfast service isn’t bad although they tend to run out of popular things often They do have laundry on-site but only one washer and one dryer so if someone else happens to be using it your stuck waiting or loading up and finding a laundromat My only real complaint with this location would be the fact that there is no guest trash cans other than the entrance and the breakfast area Used to seeing them by the elevators or ice machines As a result guests are told to put trash outside of room at beginning of day and housekeeping will take care of it which works but in my personal opinion looks horrible and brings down the overall experience of this location

Jennifer Roy

Spent several days here last week The service was excellent The breakfast was hands down fantastic

Only down side to the entire stay “pool was closed, needed repairs” Wished we were told this prior to checking it Would it have changed our plans not sure, but at least we would have known prior All other aspects of our stay was great Beds super comfy Lots of pillows, my favorite Plenty of towels Room was spacious and comfortable We would definitely stay again

Ramachandra Sattigeri

We booked this hotel to visit a near by ski-resort When we arrived however to see that the hotel pool was closed for repairs, and our kids were really disappointed The check-in person told us it was advertised that the pools were closed on the website, however we don’t recollect seeing any notice like that

Next the elevator was out of service, and we had to carry our luggage up the stairs Not a big deal, but it was definitely not ideal when having to shepherd small kids along with the luggage when checking in and out of the hotel The rooms were clean but the floor a/c in our room behaved strangely It wouldn’t cool down to the temps we wanted The saving grace was the hotel breakfast I probably would look for a different hotel the next time I come for the ski-resort

This is an older hotel and very clean but the age is obvious I only dealt with check in and breakfast staff Check in was very accommodating and the first morning so was breakfast staff

The second morning I never once saw anyone at breakfast even though I took about 30 minutes to enjoy It was slower so I guess less important While clean there were a few ants, five in two days to be exact One in the bathroom , one on my phone on nightstand and three in the beds over two nights The barking dogs in one room was annoying but not at night Overall it met my purpose and I would stay againThe absolutely best is the restaurant which shares the property though not affiliated Angus $ Ale is the best steaks, prime rib and burgers I have ever had The hotel would do much better to promote as I did Norma even notice the shared parking lot until I ask IPhone for directions and saw wax only 73 feet away I would stay at the hotel for a week just to eat three every night

Chris Neese

Very impressed with this hotel actuallyThe staff at the front was beyond amazing this weekend So kind, and just genuinely nice people

Rooms were clean and comfortable Coffee machine downstairs actually had me shocked, instant hot coffee that actually tastes very decent( compared to other hotels) The pool was clean, and WARM I had a blast and will use this hotel in the future Thanks for everything

jessica binkley

Rooms were clean Location was perfect for what we were there for Tucked up on a hill away from the main road was another nice perk to the location

Beds were comfy Staff was super friendly! Mama D at the front desk was so helpful and extremely nice, she made it feel like we were family Amanda the front desk manager was also very friendly and helpful We got to the hotel from PA a little early and she allowed us to check in since the room was finished We couldn’t thank her enough beings though we rode in on a motorcycle and it was starting to rain The restaurant across the parking lot had excellent food and very friendly staff All in all it was a fantastic 2 night stay and we will definitely be staying again for the next East Coast Sturgis event
