Alexandria Maloney

Loved my stay here! Staff at the front our lovely, the hotel is large & very nice, room was very clean Bed could have been bigger/softer and the pillows could have been bigger, but those are such small details, and it would have been nice to have big comfy robes in the rooms! But those are such small details Apart from that I loved everything

The view of the ocean from the room balcony was incredible The pool & hot tub & sauna were great too! I didn’t eat at the attached restaurant Georgie’s but I did hear good things about itWould definitely stay here again!

MISTY GAGE

Spent the week in a gorgeous King Spa Suite Service at the front desk was quick, efficient and very friendly They called up to our room about 30 minutes after we checked in to make sure that it was all to our liking (first time I’ve ever had someone do that, it was very nice)

The room was absolutely gorgeous, the spa tub was to die for and the views from the hotel are stunning A few days into our stay we decided to extend our visit Unfortunately our current room wasn’t available but they found us another exactly the same and were able to transition us effortlessly for the extra stay They even gave us a complimentary bottle of champagne and coffee truffles in our room on the last day All in all an absolutely fabulous stay! Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a luxury stay in the Newport area

It was totally awesome & amazing because of the incredible customer service! Each & everyone we met @ this welcoming hotel – front desk, Maintenance Workers, Housekeepers, The Host by the name Rose (she works at their wonderful Gift Shop, ) we called the front desk from our room to ask if they have a vase for our flowers & Rose Came to our room, and got our flowers, she returned them in such beautiful arrangement, it made our hearts happy! we just can’t believe it how much care & love that hotel puts in to providing amazing customer service, above & beyond, extraordinary! This level of customer service is Extremely rare now days Since pandemic hit, customer service went down everywhere, people got discouraged & did not care anymore But @This Hotel we were impressed- @ how caring everyone is?! They made us feel so special! They gifted us with Joy! That is why we want to be back! I want to thank the management for being good to their employees there & for hiring such wonderful caring & friendly staff! Each time we called the front desk they always answered promptly! Everyone there is super nice! I never experienced such good customer service @ any of the hotels in Oregon! This is truly the best!!! I highly recommend this hotel

I hope they will always keep this level of customer service! It is a rare jewel

Starfish Point has it all: beautiful location: each condo has excellent views of a gorgeous beach and headlands; lovely grounds and outdoor picnic area; very well-appointed kitchen (best I have ever had in a hotel or air bnb

even the knives, pots and pans were plentiful and high quality) very nice furnishings, excellent bed and linens Also a very nice wood walk-way down to the beach, and a dog paw-washing station If you travel with your dog, you will not feel like a second class citizen staying here: very nicely decorated, no odors Super slam dunk that we will return

Kelly Szymanski

Excellent fully appointed 2-bedroom condo with excellent views of the beach We loved sitting in the captain’s nook and watching all the waves and people We even saw a bald eagle right on the beach

Tara “Ms. Tara” Fraga

Newly remodeled with a clean, modern look Staff were friendly and helpful Check in and out was very quick

Room was clean with nice touches to the amenities, like the full pump bottles in the shower and beds where things cannot roll under them and become lost The breakfast buffet is a fantastic idea, very nicely setup, but the quality of the food was lackluster

Untapping The West

Nice staff They allowed us to check in early and gave us a choice between room locations The rooms were very minimalistic

They were nicely done but they have a lot of wasted space they left bare They could of put a couch to watch tv or something The ac was a nice bonus My son loved the hot tub which made the fact that the large pool was closed a little less disappointing There is also a nice artists 🎨 area behind the hotel that we enjoyed walking through

Cassie Putnam

Front desk staff were very friendly and check in was fast and convenient Lobby and halls were very clean Our room was on the 4th floor , we were pleasantly surprised with how clean and inviting it was

Bed was very comfortable and my husband and I both slept great Normally when we stay in a hotel , we wake often and are not comfortable That was not the case here I woke feeling well rested and no pain in my back or neck Definite plus for me !Bathroom was very clean and so we’re the appliances in the room (microwave , fridge , Keurig )I would definitely recommend this hotel for couples who need a basic place to stay for a night or two It’s not super fancy , but has everything you would need There’s a pool and hot tub , but we did not use them And we took a peek at the breakfast served in the morning , but we didn’t eat as we had other plans They were serving a nice display of cereal and pastries as well as sausage , biscuits and gravy , eggs and toast Smelled good and the other guests seemed to be enjoying their meals in the dining area

Aaron Stallings

This place is incredible The property is beautiful and manicured The rooms are spacious and well furnished and the beds are comfortable

We used the pool and hot tub and they were clean and easily accessible The private beach is amazing! (Just be prepared to walk up and down a lot of stairs)The only negative things I would say are, if you have a lot of luggage to take to your room prepare to make multiple trips as the parking is not close at all I would definitely stay here again and we are already planning on it!!

Joseph Corbett

We stayed here for three nights and had a wonderful time The room was very clean and you can tell a lot of care goes into keeping it looking nice and cozy The view from our room was spectacular! From the layout of the buildings I bet every room has a great view

It is just a short drive to Newport, where you can find a ton of things to do I recommend the aquarium The wifi isn’t great, so I would say if you are on a working vacation, you may need to look elsewhere If you are wanting a beautiful, relaxing getaway, then look no further!

Chinmay Kshirsagar

Our overall experience was great! Resort is very beautiful and located at a somewhat isolated corner of hill Almost entire resort is facing the ocean So great views from each corner of the resort

It has a decent swimming pool, hot tub, and jacuzzi The water temperature is maintained and could be enjoyed even in somewhat cold weatherBuildings are bit old though You may not have a great privacy in case of noisy neighborsResort has its own ocean front restaurant As of April 2022, it is closed for dine-in though

Really enjoyed the stay here Staff was very hospitable and very professional One thing that was absolutely a first, which maybe great with young children

They offer a beta fish that you can take to your room for the evening and feed the following morning Food for fish was provided and measured out accordingly Great idea!! Kids would thoroughly enjoy this

Todd Story

Room with a hot tub was amazing The ladies at the front desk were so friendly and helpful Place to eat just across the street, within walking distance

Absolutely great place to stayThe only issue I had was trying to find the hdmi port on the TV to connect a device Which the lady found It’s channel 133 If anyone needs to know

Joni Mansfield

When we made reservations they said there was only a 2 Queen beds, nonsmoking room available But there were barely any cars I think we got jipped into a higher priced room

The hot tub was downThe shower curtain drapes outside of the tub, leaving water to go all over the floor when taking a shower No way to keep the curtain to stay on the inside The neighbors were loud We didn’t sleep goodI give it a 3 because the staff that checked us in was very friendly Thank you!!And I love the fruit infused water left out for customersAnd the location was in Newport, cant beat that We will def choose another location though for that price

We stayed here over a beautiful winter weekend and the location is in the middle of agate beach, ON agate beach The facility was kept at a comfortable temperature and I really appreciate the heated pool being warm, especially for my young kiddos! We indulged in room service and my husband’s seafood Louie was large and super fresh I had the dungeoness Mac n cheese and it was huge and awesome

The place was clean and we loved the ocean view The bed was very comfortable and full of many cozy pillows! The staff were sweet and helpful and we will definitely be back!

Charles Clark

Wonderful atmosphere, clean rooms, friendly and professional staff The beach and grocery store are both within a five minute walkCoin-op laundry is very convenient

The service at the Sea Glass Bistro and Lounge is great, and the food is amazing It has a great selection of beer and wine as well Honestly there’s nothing better than watching the sunset with friends on the patio Make sure to try the crab cakes too! This is the best place to stay in Newport

Robin Wedertz

Anniversary stay-cation with the husband and a view! One tiny cup of French vanilla creamer was enough to send me quickly home again in the morning

I need my coffee creamer not optional! The bed was comfortable, room was clean, new girl at the counter did a great job More creamer and I would have stayed to watch the morning news, but while taking in the news, coffee is not optional EDIT: My ravenous need for coffee overwhelmed my desire to wait in the lobby for extra creamer, the staff was VERY busy, and I’m a local The staff here is amazing! 👏

Jeff Soviar

Hotel was clean, fairly new and had all the amenities except a pool The breakfast was a little lackluster but maybe due to short staff Honestly for the area and price range it was as good as anything there

Right next to the ocean so you can listen to it while you sleep with the windows open and feel good because many other hotels that were within a mile of its location had half the amenities and double the price

Lillian Sun

I booked a night with this hotel with Choice points on June 5 Today is June 10 Tomorrow is our check in date

This morning the day before our check in day, I called just want to know about their detailed pet policy Because another Comfort Inn we stayed before in another location in Oregon, made us to put our dog in the crate and load the crate as a luggage on the moving thing with wheels to go in and out of the hotel to my surprise this particular Comfort Inn location does NOT allow pets Even worse, they have a 48 hour cancellation policy, instead of standard 24 hour or before check-in time policy So I guess we are losing 25k points, since we need a pet friendly hotel by the way, I did call Choice Privilege Customer Service just now I waited for long time on the call It is strange that the representative said she called the hotel, the manager would not be at work until the next morning I was told to call again tomorrow at this moment i assume we will lose the 25k points, if tomorrow it turned out the hotel honored the refund, I will update here if I do lose the 25k points, I think I will go ahead cancel my Choice membership, what kind of privilege a Choice hotel member has, if the Choice Hotel Group Customer Service has to ask a particular hotel manager for approval before she can refund the points to a customer’s account, due to the inconsistent polices from a particular hotel?

Clean, comfortable, fantastic locations on the rock’s edge, close proximity to view the numerouswhales, cozy room, great ocean side fire pit with wood on deck, yummy cinnamon rolls, hugh walk-in double shower, great owners/hostess, comfortable chairs near windows to spend hours and hours viewing the ocean, great place to reflect, rest, and reconnect with your loved one We loved it but needed more than 3 night’s stay God blessed us with this quaint place to enjoy

Thank you so much for your great hospitality!

Patricia Wight

We spent three nights at Whale’s Rendezvous had a delightful time Dian and Joe are very thoughtful and provided everything we needed and more The suite is comfortable and beautifully decorated with an amazing view

The location and suite both exceeded our expectations We were able to walk to great restaurants, the Whale Center and the harbor There was “weather” on one of our days and that only enhanced our experience We look forward to a longer stay on and a whale-watching outing on our next trip to Oregon Many thanks to Dian and Joe for being such generous hosts

Edward Simpson

We had an absolute blast staying here Dian and Joe are great hosts, and were soooooo welcoming The views are amazing, and the advertisements for the place don’t do it justice

We loved seeing the whales from our private deck and even from inside while sitting in the living room area We even got a couple visits from a family of raccoons who wanted to see what we were up to The surrounding area of restaurants and shops were fun to visit, and Joe and Dian were able to give us several recommendations of where to get the best meals and other services Overall, we would absolutely recommend the Whales Rendezvous as a perfect getaway for a couple looking to spend some time together

Renee Kinyon

We stayed in #1 and it was cute and quaint and beyond clean We had a storm on the first night and were kept awake all night long by a tree banging on the side of our bedroom wall We brought it up to Debbie and it was promptly taken care of

Our view was wonderful and access to the beach was great too The only thing better would have been if they could have controlled the weather! Thanks Agate Beach Motel!

Rosalie Beaumont

An absolute gem! Other reviews are spot on, it really is such a special, magical little place We were traveling with both dog and baby and our room had everything; we made lots of meals and always had what we needed The vibe is super welcoming, the units are incredibly clean and cozy, they even have s’more kits to have around the fire

Literally steps away from the beach Some reviews have suggested modernizing but that would take away from the charm The units are older but well cared for so it’s not an issue at all

My family and I stayed in beach house #116 & we had the most wonderful time My family and I loved the Privacy that we experienced by staying in a private beach house and the staff at the whaler were absolutely fantastic Everyone my family and I spoke to on the staff was incredibly kind, courteous and Incredibly intelligent

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone The private beach houses are very fairly priced, they have everything you need in the house and if they don’t, they have it at the front desk and they are very accommodating The pool was very clean as well as the hot tub My family and I will definitely be coming back every time we come to Newport that is where we will be staying The beach house was what some would call slightly dated but I have to be honest, my family and I thought it was beautiful The beds are incredibly comfortable, the rooms are a very nice size and there’s even room for a roll away in the living room if you have other guests They’re honestly Aren’t Enough good things I can say about the whaler or their staff What a wonderful experience

Chris Bennett

The Whaler is a great place to stay The rooms aren’t fancy but they are clean and well appointed Staff are friendly

The pool is large and clean And you absolutely can’t beat the location The junior suites on the north end not only have a balcony looking out on the ocean but also a north facing window with views of the lighthouse Great place for families We’ll be back

Wonderful hotel in an AMAZING location It’s walking distance to all the Depoe Bay shops and restaurants and the views are incredible The room was a little dated (broken window blinds), but you can’t beat the price for the location

The whale watching was amazing from the property Comes with a free breakfast with oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, fruit, muffins, and yogurt Staff was very friendly

Andrea Pierce

Location was great! Contactless check in and check out was appreciated during this strange time The rooms are nothing special, but are clean! Jeff and Sue replied promptly to any messages left either by phone or email We had a late check in and they emailed the arrival directions, left a light on and turned up the heat a bit so we’d be comfortable on arrival, which we were! We had a wonderful experience and we hope to return one day!

This was a very nice place to stay, would def recommend! Its like an apartment rather than a hotel feel It had all the appliances, was stocked with dishes, silverware etc Very nice floor plan! We liked the location too, very nice to be close to walk the SE bay Blvd and check out all the little shops, and look out over the bay

All day/night It was peaceful, quiet and relaxing It was us with our 2 kids We got a 1 bedroom, and the couch pulled out to a bed which was nice They also have options for cots or rollaway beds I believe The only “negative” in my opinion was the discomfort of the bed for my personal liking We were in a LOT of pain in the morning But the shower pressure was really nice so standing under the hot water helped! Great service! Great stay!

This was a last minute decision to try and come over to the Coast for the holiday weekend I had never heard of the LandingWhat a comfortable, welcoming and energetic place

This experience is exactly what I look forward to at the beautiful Oregon Coast The staff goes above and beyond to make your stay perfect I am already booking my next stay! More than highly recommend!

My aunt and Uncle come stay here at least once a month They are fairly picky about they’re lodging ( why shouldn’t they be?! No reason to spend the money if your not getting what you want AND what you need🤷‍♀️ ) They love staying here Depending weather they come alone or, bring my adult cousins depends on which room they get

Often they are the same ones Both rooms are gorgeous comfortable and have an incredible view! They will NEVER go back to the place next door 😬

Clean, well-run, can’t beat being on the Ocean Also, the kitchen in my unit absolutely charmed me I baked while I was here, something I’ve not done for years, because there was such care taken in organizing a fully functional place to cook

The pasta I made was also amazing, and I didn’t even want to use some of the dish towels because they were made so beautifully

What an amazing view!! When looking for a place on the coast, a necessity was the view and this is the place to be!!! The balcony was my favorite part Enjoyed dinner and coffee on the balcony while enjoying the sounds and views of the Oregon coast This place is rustic and by no means fancy

Reminded me of a cabin on the Inside We stayed in the unit for 3 people but definitely was enough space for 2 and if there was a 3rd they would be on the small couch which didn’t look comfortable to sleep on Full kitchen too with utensils and some salt and pepper Upon arrival we opened the windows to air it out and really never closed them the one night we stayed It was nice to have the breeze and it didn’t get too cold Bathroom is small but manageable Provides shampoo conditioner and soap Lots of towels if needed Check in was easy! Carport provided and the door to get in was located in carport Easy access to the beach and the beach was awesome and lots of space to play or ponder If you want fancy, don’t come here Lots of cobwebs and dust in unit But for the killer view and reasonable price the dust was no matter to a bunch of young adults We could also hear the people beside us walking around and above us But sleeping wise it was alright Check it out!

This place was incredible!! The accommodations were clean, cozy and romantic for our anniversary trip Heather at the front desk was incredibly thoughtful as well She went out of her way to help us and provides stellar customer service with a smile

I own two companies and recognize a great employee when I see one! The whole experience with crabbing on the back dock was rad, the adult swim hours were perfect and peaceful and the views were spectacular We walked to the bay front several times and loved how close everything was Another bonus was Jack Sprat’s restaurant…best food we’ve had in Newport We can’t wait to come back! So so happy!!!

We love staying at the Embarcadero We have stayed here many times and over many years We’re staying in a one bedroom w Murphy queen bed in living room

The bathroom has a nice king bed The bathroom has a wide deep bathtub There is a full kitchen and round dining table which is good for us to play sequence on The balcony looks straight out over the bay to the bridge Water is right at our feet and you can hear the Sea Lions We’re far enough away this time to not be bothered by their barking So, We couldn’t ask for more! The other amenities include an indoor swimming pool There are many fine wonderful restaurants near by and along the waterfront We ate at Nana’s Irish Pub which has great food! Seafood is tomorrow’s dinner along the waterfront You should come sometime and you to could enjoy this wonderful place in Newport, OR

We booked the king size suite with the jacuzzi and although it was nice, there were some things that didn’t quite sit right with us1: The balcony door DID NOT lock We were on the first floor so this made us anxious

Someone could (very easily) climb the balcony and have access to our room/belongings2: The balcony door was a major pain to open and close Not sure if because the base needed a good cleaning or if the door itself just needed work3: The shower head had very little pressure It was one of those giant, expensive ones that switches between pressure settings Just because it’s big and expensive doesn’t mean it’s efficient The shower head in the pool actually had better pressure (was considering washing my hair down in the pool so the conditioner would actually come out!)4: Our last night here, we had children running up and down the hallway and in the next room over Not a big deal, I understand kids will be kids, but I know this would be a major deal breaker for some people so I thought I would share5: Only 1 set of washer/dryers and the washer was out of service so we couldn’t wash clothes here 🙁

Our first time here and we absolutely loved it! Our expectations of what an Oregon coast hotel experience could be like were surpassed by far The staff were warm and friendly The room was clean and comfortable

The views were even better than we had imaginedWith it being a dog-friendly hotel, we were wondering what that experience would be like (we brought our little guy) Never heard a dog bark once and facilities were pristine We are thinking of making this an annual stay for us Couldn’t have been a better first experience!

I was really surprised by how nice this hotel ended up being! Usually coast hotels are out dated and have a sort of dingy feel to them but this hotel was very clean, bright and modern They had fluffy robes you could wear, a mini kitchen and sofa too I loved the ocean view and cozy fire place in our room

They also had a very cute sitting area outside around a gas fire pit where you can watch the waves and sunset and relax I would highly recommend staying here if you’re in Newport

Cute, quaint, clean, and affordable! We called and booked last second, got the last available room, and are so happy to have stumbled upon this great little motel It feels homey and has a lot of personal touches It’s well stocked and very cutely decorated

Most importantly, the bed is comfortable! The customer service was excellent and communication is great with email instructions and text We’re very impressed and will be back when we’re in the area next!

Lisa Smith

We were in the end unit #7 which was the furthest from the road & shared one wall Love the assigned parking & great shower pressure Popcorn, coffee & tea provided along with all dishes you would need to have a meal- nice touch for a unit this size

Clean & excellent communication, easy check in/out We were pleasantly surprised & would return Easy walk into everything town offers

Charlene Clegg

When I arrived I was concerned but I actually felt as though I had walked into a 5 star hotel Lots of extra touches that you would probably not find in a 5 star hotel Complete shaving kit (w/ bandages), covers for bed for dog, charging station for cell and plug-ins, coffee maker and tea pot, dishes and silverware, and probably more that I can’t remember

Definitely a good choice for an excellent place to stay in Depoe Bay

There were some good things about this room: the bed was reasonably comfortable, sheets were new and clean, young man in the office was friendly and helpful, fridge was clean, view was great, sturdy staircase leading to beach Most other things about the room (the Safari Room) were highly unpleasant It needs renovation and a serious deep clean

It looked very different from the photos I found lots of dust, hair, dirt, and sand under the bed Rug was filthy My socks were dirty after walking around without shoes Baseboards and light switches were very dirty Towels were worn, stained, and smelled of the plug-in air freshener that was in the bathroom I found 4 strands of long hair wrapped around one of the hand towels Lots of dirt in corners of bathroom floor Shower curtain smelled of mold Window screen was torn, bugs in the room I would have left if I could have found another room It was so not worth the money I was happy to leave

Aidan Nolan

My fiance and I adored this spot The themed rooms are adorable, Peggy is SO sweet and welcoming, and the ocean views are unbearable Leave the door and the window cracked for constant crashing ocean sounds, it is entirely worth it

Are the mattresses luxury? No Are the doors and windows a little wonky? Yes Ultimately though, it’s a clean room with cute thematic touches in a phenomenal location that’s far enough out of town that the stars are amazing For 90 bucks a night, I really couldn’t have asked for better We will absolutely be returning

Hanna Wheatley

We have stayed twice now First time in the lighthouse room and last week in the under the see room Family stayed in the Americana room

All the rooms have a different decor that are comfy and homey Great views and quick right on the beach Always nice staff who are willing to get what you need and know the area well If you want somewhere cozy and right on the beach this is it
