Bathroom does not have a vent therefore there is mold all around the ceiling borders There is no tub The shower constantly drips and splashed onto the floor

The bathroom door doesn’t close properly There are zero USB ports anywhere in the room Paint jobs are super sloppy There was a pubic hair on the pull-up beds mattress cover Our room overall is very run down Nothing like Homewood Suites we’ve stayed in before Overall not very clean in my opinion Do not recommend

Justin Slaughter

Hotel in a quiet area just off I-65 Rooms were OK with a few minor issues A?C unit ticked at times, but not enough to disturb sleep

Some low level maintenance needed though as had broken lampshade and remote control battery cover taped on with a band-aid Breakfast was just OK as well Was expecting a larger hot breakfast and there were no waffle makers Pool was also closed just before our arrival for a month in peak summer season!

Lady Liberty

What a waste of the Hilton name Recently stayed here for a month (work) and staff cleaned the room once Had to BEG for fresh towels, which they tried not to give

They didn’t take the trash out, so I did myself, but they were out of liners every time I asked Also ran out of toilet paper, so I bought my own The housekeeper stole my TP the ONE time they cleaned I asked for housekeeping countless times and they never showed up Maybe I was better off since they are thieves Shower dripped constantly my entire stay Stains on the bed coversUpdate to the GM reply I did talk to the front desk staff many times They did nothing to help And don’t lie saying you followed your cleaning frequency policy, because you didn’t There was no do not disturb signon the door What a poor attempt to defend your thieving lazy staff

Top Notch establishment! I travel the country for work, so I have stayed in all sorts of hotels Candlewood is the best for a extended stay The price is never the lowest on the market and there’s a reason why

IHG hotels are always in good places, either pretty safe areas of that town if not in the safest areas so you don’t have to worry about your belongings or vehicles The services they offer you cant get other places The pantry always has home essentials and a verity of snacks and drinks as wellThat section was about Candlewood in general Now let me tell you about this hotel in Alabaster The staff is beyond nice, management is on point with questions or concerns Pets are allowed! The pantry has most basics you want, a snack or if you need Laundry detergent The rooms are not only clean, they look brand new! Since Covid lots of hotels no longer do cleaning services while the room is occupied This location does If you have questions, concerns or suggestions on the room the staff and management is always there to listenI highly recommend this location for your stay

Samantha Little

Not sure if they went thru a remodel/deep clean but this hotel was great! Did not experience issues in other reviews, and I’m very particular when it comes to hotels since I travel a lot Room was good size, clean, and had everything you needed for the kitchen The fridge freezer even makes ice so you don’t have to leave the room for that

Cool to see they had specialty appliances and games you can sign out I didn’t realize it was a pet friendly hotel until we left, the hotel doesn’t smell of pets or any musty smells Jasmin at the front desk was so nice and helpful as we had multiple people come in at different times, and she was on it!! Will stay here again!

Staff was super friendly and helpful Hotel is in a great location and off of the main road, so it feels like a “getaway” The pool was fantastic

They have a basketball court and even will provide you with a basketball, which made my kids very happy Room was spotless and quiet Bathroom was spotless and the water was nice and hot with great water pressure Thank you for making our trip wonderful!

Robert McDonald

Pulling up the place looks great Nice building and grounds Check in and lobby are nice

Staff is amazing, very welcoming The bad is the rooms They are dated and dirty We had just drove 8hrs on the way to the beach and needed to stop for the night We let our twins play on the floor after checking for anything laying around After 20 mins they had black feet and knees So time for a bath Tub needs resurfaced Overall it’s OK, breakfast was great They just need a little help with cleaning and some updates Beds were clean and comfortable Flood light outside bedroom was odd but blackout shades worked well

Tim Grass

The suite was spacious and clean Seconds away from groceries, Starbucks, gas and more The staff was extremely friendly and helpful

The complimentary breakfast was better than many other hotels Pre-maid egg omelettes with veggies, sausage, potatoes, fresh waffles with chocolate chips or walnuts or strawberries, pastries, cereal, grits, etc A great stay

Never had such a bad experience with hotels before Rooms had unpleasant smell, not clean Carpet was wet from leaking AC

Chair was broken, we asked for another one but ended up with another broken chair, lol No one cleaned the room or refilled with soap, towels and other things Trash can was full, no one took care of that Awful customer service as well I will not book this hotel ever again, doesn’t worth for the price at all and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone

Lise Gomora

It was ok We’re a family of 5 plus baby Booked this hotel because they could accommodate us, had the pool, and breakfast

Was not cheap Room was fine, beds comfy but high up The shower/tub was nice good pressure and hot water The ac was wonky we had to fuss with the machine under the window, don’t bother with the thermostat Disappointed with the pool- it was so hot in there no ac no air flow we couldn’t stand it Basket of floaties but most of them deflated and a few small towels Pool was dirty there were things floating in it, and when we got back the kids eyes were red and itchy Breakfast was also not good it was fake cheap food that had already been sitting out, even my kids wouldn’t eat it we still had to get breakfast elsewhere Staff was ok They didn’t clean out or refill the room when we were gone so the trash filled up and we kept asking for towels It was ok not worth the price for the ‘Pool and breakfast’

Let me start by saying this was my first time staying at a place like this! When I pulled up I thought it was an apartment complex not a “hotel” per say! But it was nice and perfect for a family trip The staff that we came in contact with our first night there for check in were AMAZING I can’t remember her name but she just started recently! She was bubbly and very sweet and made me excited to get a room there But the staff the next day not so much! Our shower was TERRIBLE! The shower head was broken all the way off and the water shot out with very high pressure and it was crooked!! It was pretty rough and when I brought it up at the desk I was told by the change of staff that all they could do was tell maintenance about it

That was the sour part of the trip! Besides that everything else was fine

Tiffany Manes

The room was not cleaned from the people before us Trash in the trash can, skid marks in the toilet, and beds not made up We showed up with 4 tired kids I made up the beds myself and just dealt with it for the night

Too tired to make a fuss, but I had to write a review to warn others Also the locks on the door were broken The deadbolt didn’t work and the top bar lock was broken off, so we slept with a chair under the doorknob and the couch pushed up against it We got the 2 bedroom suite for $100 The beds were very comfortable The front desk was very nice when we checked in There is no breakfast though so don’t count on that

Tokyo Blues Man

Booked a room for my boss that came from Japan on my credit card Then, when I checked him in, my boss presented his credit card and told the clerk to charge his credit card and not mineWell, what do you know! They charged his room on both of our credit cards – they double charged us!I called and requested them to reimburse/credit my card and the same clerk said “no problem”

A month later, it was never credited So, I called again and they gave me a run-around So, I had to call the head office And they gave me a run-around, too So, I had to deal with my credit card company, and by then, they told me it was too late to do anything about itI used to refer this hotel to all of the people visiting from Japan but NO MORE I will NOT use this hotel ever again!

Very friendly and welcoming staff Hotel is in very good area for food and dining options The only problem is accessing this site during afternoon/evening rush hour traffic

Room was clean and everything worked Linens were clean and plentiful Very comfortable and quiet, I was surprised due to the fact when I checked out at 03:00 the parking lot was packedThe only thing I have an issue about is that my Choice Privileges account isn’t showing up Hopefully it will and I would gladly return to this hotel

Monica Cumberbatch

Very nice experience Claudia (Claudine?) at front desk was very pleasant The beds were very comfortable and I had a great night’s rest being tired traveling through many states

I got to the coffee station just as they were taking down breakfast and the lady was so kind to help me get my to go breakfast before she started Many other places I’ve stayed I’ve experienced much impatience and a lack of acknowledgement The room(s) could do with an upgrade but overall Great job Comfort Inn!

If I had to describe my stay at this hotel as fair I stayed here with my local church for Motion It was not among the worst of the worst of hotel stays that I have been on

After waiting for our room, which is understandable due to the difficulty of acquiring workers in today’s economy, my leader and roommate found that the room was clean It had a microwave and a minifridge which is a nice amenity However, I do have some complaints The stained sheets, smoke smell, damp room, and occasional cockroaches in the tub were all things that I might be able to overlook My main issue, that was also shared with the rest of the group, was with the employee who prepared and served the breakfast They did not act professionally in their workplace I personally caught a lot of flack for the breakfast rush that she apparently encountered on the previous day Me and my leader came down for breakfast and they asked me if there was anyone behind me I struggle with hearing people sometimes and when they spoke to me I did not hear them so I said, “Sorry, I did not hear you” Their reply was to look at the employee next to them and exclaimed, “See, that’s just how these kids are! Disrespectful and rude” They later stormed off to the breakfast prep room when met with two more tables and slammed the door behind them I’m not sure what provoked them this morning but I hope that it is only her experience from yesterday that she is still bitter about I do hope it is that rather than anything else that might actually be worth slamming a door on some kids who wanted some breakfast before they headed out for the dayAll in all, these are the only issues I had and I was able to get some rest in between the two nights I spent at the Motion convention I wish you a great rest of your day, and I pray that that employee is given some peace and patience

CYNTHIA HOOD

We spent New Years here and it was perfect Check in was easy and fast, rick was super nice The next morning breakfast was awesome and there was something for everyone – hot and cold breakfast

The two ladies at the front desk were very sweet and welcoming And on our last night we had to ask Nicholas for something 2-3 times and he was so nice and never seemed annoyed Overall great room, hotel, and especially the staff 10/10!

Jordan Ritter

Early check-in is sometimes a hassle, not here Jessica was friendly, efficient and prepared with room waiting They also upgraded room, since room booked online was not available so early

The entire staff is excellent! Great Location Breakfast is good- get there early, great coffee Hotel is dated, but clean Elevators give agoraphobic vibes Water pressure less than ideal Hotel was quiet I would definitely stay here again, the entire team here is superb

Tamara Green

Conveniently located off of I-65 near several restaurants and stores The hotel sits back from the main road and we had a little trouble trying to figure out how to get to itOur room was updated, clean and comfortable

Only complaint was that the bathtub faucet did not turn off completely so there was a continuous dripping noise all nightFree breakfast included waffles, scrambled eggs, etc and was kept fully stocked

Terrible stay! The room we stayed in was horrendous n honestly a waste of my money! There was hair everywhere from the bathroom to the bedroom The toilet had pee on it, there was a ring in the tub n it was clogged up badly! Food bag was found in the closet The hospitality was poor, had to ask for clean towels

This is suppose to be a 5star hotel, I honestly could have stayed somewhere cheaper n received better room service n so on 👎🏽

Melanie Metzger

Very friendly front desk employee The hotel is in need of updates badly The rooms are old and out dated

The TVs are tiny and ours wouldn’t work correctly Only like 5 channels on our TV worked The breakfast was awful All of the hot food was cold and we were down there before 9am Their juice machine was out of juices The pool closed early and opened late (this was the only reason we booked this hotel) On a weekend most hotel pools are open until 10 or 11pm Theirs closed at 8pm We stay at least 25+ nights a year at hotels and this was a first Our room was clean at least

David Brown

If I could give this negative stars I would My friends and I have been staying here every year during the Barber Vintage Festival and in this same hotel And it always been pretty good

This year over 3 nights stay we got no room cleaning and I still had to go downstairs to get fresh towels To top it off, they quoted us a good price for all 3 nights When we checked out they were unable to print out our receipt so we left and waited for an email receipt They only gave us the better rate one night and charged nearly double for the other 2 nights Even after being on the phone for hours they wouldn’t budge So unless you like getting robbed in a dirty hotel, don’t stay here

We arrived fairly late on a Saturday night 8/6/22 Traveling with friends they made the reservation for us and we just paid it on our card once we arrived Hotel is nice and staff at front desk seemed nice

Our room was not very clean and there was pink mold on the bathtub which made me realize it had not been cleaned or sterilized I took pictures and showed the lady at the front desk and she said she would alert the housekeeping staff (it was never cleaned while we were there) the next morning I wanted a strong coffee so I went to Starbucks which is next door and decided to get gas while I was out so that I would be ready to hit the road after breakfast I went to eat at 9:20am with breakfast ending at 10am there was no eggs, no grits, and other items were gone I asked the lady who was working the breakfast area and she stated I am sorry but it is first come first served and it is until we run out I informed her that breakfast is stated to end at 10am and it is just 9:20am and I am a paying guest just like everyone else and I should be able to eat what is offered to others It does not take much to cook grits or eggs She refused to do so and said I am sorry I am not cooking anymore We do not want there to be waste there were at least 4 other guests who came down and had the same experience I told the front desk of my experience with the pink mold, and the breakfast and I asked for a manager to call me back I did not hear anything so I called and left a message again on 8/11/22 As of 8/23/22 I still have not heard from any manager concerning my issues I assume at this point that they do not care I blog about vacations and I constantly post and download information about great places to stay on specific routes of travel I decided to wait to post a review until I knew how management was going to respond, but since they didn’t I decided to let people know this hotel is NOT a place I would stay again

Cara I Doyle

Background for context: I have been a Hilton Honors member for 21 years and consistently stay at Hampton Inn hotels This review is specifically for the Hampton Inn & Suites Birmingham-Hoover-GalleriaFrom the exterior, this hotel looks new and nice

Customer service is fine I was greeted by the front desk staff with a smile I did not receive any acknowledgement or free water for HH status, but I was tired and it was late, so I didn’t pushI’ve organized my feedback by roomFirst Room – Room 512- Large roach – did not stay long enough to inspect the room, immediately left and asked for another room But where there is one roach there is typically moreSecond Room – Room 410- Ant traps in the bathroom – a FIRST, I’ve never seen bug traps in a Hampton Inn- The thermostat did not work The AC never turned off and was going full blast, luckily I love a cold room and packed layers- There was hair on the bathroom floor (not mine)- The tub drain was clogged, so I stood in a few inches of water during the shower - Pink mold in the corners of the bathtubI stayed for 2 nights and was out of the room during the day until late There was no one at the front desk when I arrived at night and departed to leave any feedback I honestly was too nervous to get another room for fear it was going to be even worseAll in all I would NOT recommend this hotel 100% satisfaction is NOT guaranteed if you decide to stay here I will be visiting the area for work again and will not be staying here I’ve also notified my company of the state of this hotel, so others will not book a stay

Andy L.

The pool area was nasty and filthy The pool was really cloudy, and the whole area smelled awful Lots of trash on the floor

The hot tub was also underfilled by about 10 inches – a pretty clear indicator that it hasn’t been serviced in a long time When you turn on the jets, it just sprayed water everywhere because the water level was just at or below the jet level Normally I wouldn’t care so much, but I spent $310 for one night and had small kids who wanted to enjoy the pool area I wouldn’t let them go in the pool because it didn’t look clean or safe

Due to being shorthanded we had a little wait for our rooms but Kevin at the front desk was wonderful! Apologized about the room not being ready and offered us a cool drink while we waited He got us into the room as soon as it was ready and it was a really nice one Despite being shorthanded it was still a very clean and comfortable hotel

Highly recommend!

Sandra Bair

I booked this hotel for my grandson who was at a wrestling tournament He said the hotel was ok

that it was comparable to a Comfort Inn We thought the breakfast was included like it typically is at a Holiday Inn but the cost for breakfast was $15 which was too steep for breakfast when you can go just about anywhere and get breakfast cheaper than that The cost of the room was already over $200 and to ask to pay for breakfast as well was I thought too much with the hotel not being anything special I will not recommend anyone staying here

kay richards

This hotel does not reflect the clean standards expected from an IHG property Carpet was filthy, and bathroom was not thoroughly cleaned, upolstery was terribly stained and looked worn out Front desk often left unmanned, while clerk is outside on personal phone

I will not stay at this property again and will be more cautious when selecting IHG properties moving forward For years they have been my go to for the cleanliness and comfort, but in these times I cannot compromise on the cleanliness of my rooms while travelling

Breakfast selection was excellent Normally hotel breakfast is difficult for those of us with food allergies, but the Drury hotel offers so many options that I was able to have a great breakfast In the room, my two favorite things were the pillows (soft, but supportive) and an awesome shower

Love the angle of the shower head as well as the water pressure Indoor/outdoor pool and hot tub was enjoyed by many guests Next time, I’m bringing my suit! This hotel checks off all of my must-haves for a hotel and at an affordable rate

Judy Lanier

The entire staff was was friendly and welcoming The General Manager, Melanie, loves her job, and it was obvious that she loves the Hospitality Industry She made us feel so Welcome

The food was good, and we enjoyed talking with several people that we met We will definitely visit again We are locals who were getting a new roof on our home and decided to take a 2 day break while roofers were there Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Adrian Bee

We had a great stay Mattresses were actually comfortable and pillows were nice and fluffy We did not partake in the dinner and drinks provided but we did do the hot breakfast and we were quite impressed with the selection

Because the indoor pool was connected to the outdoor pool, the indoor pool was a bit chillyOverall, we had a fantastic stay and would recommend!

The hotel itself was clean Good water pressure in the shower The staff was friendly

Now I will explain the reason for the two stars The most important thing to me on an overnight stay in a hotel is a good night’s sleep The mattress on the bed was horrible! I was lucky to get 2 hours sleep if that I had springs poking me all night They really need to upgrade their mattresses

Jim Fineis

The staff was nice, but the facility itself shows an immense amount of wear and age Everything was clean and organized, but everything in my guest room needed to be replaced from the televisions to the doors which were warped and coming apart to the shower which had missing caulk The staff did the best they could with the well-worn facility

evelin pineda

Not the best stay As we walked in our room you could feel it musty A shelf on the bathroom wall was close to falling off

The juices in the morning for breakfast were watered down Coffee didn’t even taste like coffee Not a lot of selection for breakfast either and not enough Not well prepared and not well managedNot what we expect from Hampton Inn

The room was nice and clean Everything that we needed The casing of the AC unit kept falling off I also don’t think it was working correctly since we had it set on 68 and it was still warm in the room

The pool needed cleaned and the breakfast wasn’t great The prepackaged muffins and yogurt were the best items they had Oh and the fire alarm went off right as we had fell asleep

Trust me, I’ve stayed at every single hotel in Pelham, pretty much My family was suddenly kicked from our home during covid, and we tried several different hotels before finally landing in the BW It’s easy to overlook because they don’t have huge flashy signs like the other neighboring hotels, but everything about this place is wonderful

I can even say, during one of the worst times of my life, the BW was a home for us, when we needed one the most It was always quiet, breakfast is supplied for guests, which was really helpful since we were completely broke at the time They even allowed our beloved pets to feel at home, there The kindness from the staff was unlike anything I have experienced anywhere else I don’t believe I can say enough positive things about this Best Western Thank you, for your exceptional service!

Truly a special and unique place! As a return guest, we are just as awestruck at the loving attention to detail as the first visit We have lived all over the world and found Hassinger Daniel’s mansion one of the most unique places we’ve found Sheila has curated a gorgeous mansion filled with exquisite antiques filling every room each telling a different story! We loved the Southern Belle room filled with beautiful antique gowns -see if you can find the hidden wedding gown

Truly a memorable experience sleeping in a living antique filled mansion And Shelia’s gracious hospitality is not to be missed at a lovely morning Breakfast family style together We will be back again!

Let’s start with some of the negatives I’ve read in the review section… I would personally say that most of those people that complained did not pay attention to the style of bed & breakfast this is when they booked or they just like tarnishing a locally owned business’ reputationThat may sound harsh but Sheila works very hard (you can clearly tell) to ensure that people there feel welcome and comfortable She can tell you so much history about the building, surrounding area and even the city

She is very sweet and accommodating No this is not like a Holiday Inn No this is not like an air b&b or even a regular b&b That’s what makes it a fun and unique experienceThe room was great just don’t expect every commodity a hotel room would have That is the exact reason you chose this place though right? That’s what makes it great It was unlike any other stay I’ve experienced The place as a whole is very secure and I felt very safe during our stay and coming and leaving the mansion The interior was also very refreshing and visually pleasing each time we returned from our adventures (dinner, concert, bar etc)The location is also centrally located in Birmingham and pretty convenient Plenty of restaurants and shops are walkable but our particular agenda had us driving 5-10 minutes each time which was still very convenient Parking is slightly tight in the available parking but I don’t think that it’s unreasonable Again, this is a very unique property There’s not a giant hotel parking lot waiting for you hereOverall, I find it hard to write anything negative here because I am happy to see a hard working person such as Sheila do so well at something so special; restoring and preserving a mansion ALONE (her & her husband started this project together but he has since passed) and doing a damn great job on top of that We loved our stay and will definitely return if we find ourselves in Birmingham againTHANK YOU FOR THE SERVICE YOU OFFER SHEILA!-you deserve a 50 rating on google not a 43-don’t listen to the people who just need something to complain about guys, this place is a cool & fun stay-it will not have the same setup as a typical hotel but is in my personal opinion just as comfortable and more enjoyable

Such a beautiful place to stay! I stayed in the Peacock room last night and it was lovely The bed and sheets were so comfortable! The breakfast was DELICIOUS! This was my first time ever at a B&B and I loved every moment of it The wifi was very fast and easily accessible as well

I highly recommend a stay! Next time I need a break from home I’ll be checking in again 🙂

We go into town a little early, but our room was ready at 1pm and very clean We were very appreciative to check in early in the middle of our soccer tournament day At the end of the day we enjoyed the pool for several hours and at dinner poolside

The area was very clean The kids had some hot chocolate in the lobby on the way up to the room Thanks so much to the night staff on 8/20 that was very patient with our kiddos The gentleman at the front was so kind and helpfulOur room was very clean The beds were cozy and the air conditioning was cold It was very spacious for my daughter and I The bathroom area was also very cleanBreakfast the next day started at 7, but hot coffee was available at 615 The breakfast area was crowded but there was mostly enough seating for everyone Yogurt, breads, eggs, sausage, waffles, fresh blueberries, and waffles were availableWe had a great stay Thanks so much!

Had a wonderful stay there! We traveled from Chicago so my daughter could visit friends in the area Got there on Thursday night and the girl behind the desk was very nice Rooms were exceptionally clean

We stayed til Saturday morning and then traveled on to Louisiana for a wrestling show my husband was working On our way back from Louisiana we had to stop back to drop a friend off and we had no problems staying there again The guy behind the desk this time went above and beyond to accommodate us He saw I had knee brace on and offered me a wheelchair to get up to our room Rooms again were exceptionally clean Such a nice place to stay My family and I have decided that the next time we visit we will definitely stay there again

The hotel was ok and some the staff were nice However PLEASE pay attention the your credit card statement once you’ve checked out My card was charged FIVE times for ONE room

Once contacted the manager on duty apologized but was uninterested in explaining why or how this had happened He asked if I give five days and call back to see if the charges were gone Just horrible in my opinion I’m a Hilton Honors member and he offered nothing for the inconvenience that this has caused me

We had rode over 500 miles on our Harley’s and it was 9pm and this was our target for the evening 👍🏻 We were greeting at the front desk by a very nice young lady and check in was fast and easy We found the room very nice, clean and cool Coffee was available in the breakfast area and had a good hot shower and a great nights sleep

Breakfast was continental as there was an unforeseen circumstance with the hot breakfast but there was plenty of coffee and muffins, toast, cereal, fruit ……etc! Highly recommend this motel👍🏻 We stayed in a first floor room!

Today is our 1st day so we haven’t been able to experience much with the hotel However location is very good with lots of restaurants in the area Check in was easy and getting to the room was also

When we entered the room it was nice and cold Decent size for 3 people It has 2 double beds and the bathroom sink is in the room because the bathroom is only large enough for the toilet and shower Breakfast starts at 6am daily No gym but the pool area is nice It is located in the front by the entrance Try to get a room facing the front They have a better view of the pool and restaurants We got room 205

Mark George

I’m not sure why this establishment has such a high rating It’s fairly well maintained But it needs cleaned

When we checked in our first room we had to request another room The odor of mold and mildew was so overpowering that we would have had a hard time breathing in it The second room was better, but still had a peculiar odor Also, the bathroom and shower area is smallThe breakfast was poor Basically anything that could be watered down was This includes the coffee, juice, etc Multiple people had issues with the waffle iron And the condiments were old As an example, the honey had crystals in itHaving a mixed experience with so many things, I’m not sure I would return – considering this was one of the more expensive options in the area

We were taken such good care of by the awesome staff! The only problem we had during our four day stay was the air conditioner could not be controlled The room was very very cold Breakfast was fantastic and varied each day

We enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere of the lobby where the met very friendly guest We were there for a wedding and would, definitely, stay there in the future This hotel is dog friendly and fun for kids! If Hamilton is in the lobby he will amaze you with his lego creations!

Clean and the hotel staff very helpful Good breakfastDifficult to get a restful sleep with trains with horns blowing in the middle of the night (in view of your room)! If we stay again we’ll ask for a room on the apposite side of the building

Staff was great The kitchen counter in my room had been previously-broken and a repair attempted, which the staff was aware of, but it was still relatively dangerous I suggested that a sticky note at the repair site would prevent someone from cutting themselves on the sharp break

Other than that, the room was fine The shower was fine Everything was fine with the exception of the parking spaces, which might be OK for cars, but Way too small for working trucks and vans If you drive a Dually, you’re going to take up two spaces even if you are considerate Worse, there were several “hoopty” trucks intentionally parked across multiple spots, further reducing the number of available parking spaces Quite a few trucks were actually parked out on the street That situation alone will make me stay elsewhere despite the friendly staff and having liked the property in general, both of which are a big reason for repeat business If not for the parking, I would have given it a 4 If not for the dangerous kitchen counter, I would have rated it 5 stars

Let me start with the positive The room was clean, comfy, etc And when staff was at the front desk they were great

There were two issues with this hotel One I think can be fixed fairly easily and the other would be more difficult First, I came down to the front desk several times in my two weeks stay at different times throughout the afternoon and into the night The front desk was often unattended Two times during my stay come to mind the most First a co-worker arrived super late, like 3am Nobody was at the desk and he called me I came down to get him in the front door and we waited 15 minutes or so before the representative showed up The next most annoying time around 745pm, my card to get in my room wasn’t working I waited down by the desk for about 15 minutes again – this time with someone else attempting to check in There were plenty of other times but those were the two most annoying I understand assigning multiple tasks so the employee isn’t sitting idle, but ignoring the phone and not being able to do basic tasks like check people in or assist existing patrons is a problem at this location While I give the cleaning crew an A, I’d say management needs better processes for the front desk to ensure customer satisfaction I very likely will choose a different hotel for my next extended stay in the Birmingham area

Kevin Rene

Front desk staff is friendly, rooms are dated but extremely clean, which is refreshing when staying at an older hotel that hasn’t been remodeled Rooms are equipped with energy saving tech so make sure to read up on that, info is provided at check in Room has two burners, dishwasher, microwave, full fridge, and garbage disposal

Clean and soft linens in bath and on beds!Gym is large and clean with every piece of equipment you could want, laundry room has free washer and dryers (4 of each), small indoor market in lobby, as well as business are with computer and printer, they do not offer breakfast, which is fine since you can conveniently cook your own or pick something up in the well stocked on site market by the lobby or at the neighboring Dunkin Donuts There is also an outdoor covered gazebo with seating, tables, and two grills Parking lot is L shaped around building and somewhat limited if hotel is fullOnly complaint is that the toilet seat was cracked when we arrived and it kept pinching our arses 🤣 Just not something we wanted to address during our visit! If you order food or anything online, make sure to let your driver know Candlewood, because Holiday Inn is next door and our driver apparently couldn’t read and delivered our food over there! 😧
