This was a nice property The room was clean and the furnishings seemed pretty new The staff was friendly

After I was checked in I was on the app looking at the hotel amenities and noticed it said firearms were not allowed on the property I am a Texas license to carry holder and I am pretty familiar with the laws To start with there are no 3006 or 3007 signs at the hotel entrance so this little blip on the website really doesn’t mean anything If they did have either one of these signs, 3006 or 3007, as of September 2021 they would not be enforceable Last September SB20 went into effect, it basically says a hotel can not prevent a guest from having their firearm or ammunition in their room or on the property unless it is prohibited by state or federal law

Found out when we checked in that the pool was closed I asked for a refund because I wanted a pool for my son to swim in after a long travel day They wouldn’t refund my money because I booked through a third party travel site

Got to our room and it smelled horrible, like something died in it Issued a second room and then the guy at the front desk said, oh by the way our Wi-Fi is down So no pool, no Wi-Fi and an unacceptable room with poor customer service Will never stay at a Hampton Inn again and will tell all my family and friends not to either Left and went and stayed at the LaQuinta up the street and had a wonderful experience The third party site tried to get me a refund but the hotel denied it because they stated it was on their website that the pool was closed but it was NOT It is now after I complained about it but I wouldn’t of booked there had I known the pool was closed Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else!

I can appreciate renovating an establishment and trying to do so while staying open With that said I was impressed with the cleanliness as far as n dust or tools all over Rooms were clean too

Why I rated this a 2 stars is the price for the type of stay we received First and foremost there was a roach in the bathroom This is unacceptable Mattress was subpar along with the pillows You could hear people walking above us, clock was bright, light coming through under the door, I don’t believe our room was completely renovated yet because of the scratches on the cabinetry In my opinion is was not worth $170 (w/tax) a night At best this is a $120 per night We have stayed at other Hamptons and this has been the worst by far as far as comfort and price

This is by far the nicest La Quinta I have been to! I have traveled cross country more than once staying at La Quintas, and this one is amazing! The room was beautiful, spacious, and clean The bathroom was also very clean The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating! Only negative things were while the room was spacious, the AC unit was on the other side of the room making it difficult to cool

We had to set the AC pretty low in order to feel it’s by the bed The other thing is the sheets were a little rough and the mattress was a little on the hard side But those are minor things Our stay was wonderful! I would highly recommend it!

Chris Dubay

Clean rooms Free hot breakfast Indoor pool Beds are a little too hard

Best to bring your own pillow Rooms can be hard to keep cool in the humid SE Texas heat, we bring a small fan They allow pets with a 50 dollar deposit They have a small commissary with snacks and travel essentials Close to highway and plenty of fast food options within walking distance We stay here a few times a year and it’s been consistent for years

Lacey Brooke

My husband brought me here on our wedding night 10 years ago And I decided spur of the moment that we should go again this past Saturday (2/19/22) I’m so glad we did

The rooms are clean The staff were all very pleasant and accommodating to both of us The style is classic & simple, which I prefer The bed slept wonderful!’NEVER ENDING HOT WATER 😍The lobby and hallways are clean also But more importantly, they smell crisp Not like cleaning solution and not FABULOSO Even with the heat turned on!The breakfast was great Eggs, sausage link, yogurt, toast, biscuits, cold cereal (3 kinds), Texas (shaped) Waffles, coffee, orange juice, apple juice, milk, hot chocolate or sodaThere was more but I can’t remember it allThis was perfect for what we needed A place away from home just to be together Not as mom, dad, daughter, employee we needed to reconnect And there was nothing over bearing or intrusive, while still being very comfortable and affordable

I checked in around 7PM Monday 6/27/22 Upon arrival the young lady at checkin was not engaged with her job and rushed me through checkin with no one behind me and then proceeded to walking back to the lobby to talk to her friend Coffee was cold and bitter, they were out of drinks to purchase, and worst part was she denied my upgrade, did not give me the option for points, and did not recognize me as a Diamond elite member upon checkin

I wasn’t Sure if I was at a motel 6 or at a IHG Hotel

Mark Brannon

Absolutely wonderful !! My stay their was one great experience The rooms was clean and the smell was clean and fresh The beds are kind of on the medium range of comfort, but tolerable

The facility all around was fantastic The breakfast needs some improvements Powered eggs and sausage is not good in taste So, looking at the price we paid for our room this five star rating is well deserved If house keeping stays on top of their job like this this holiday express and suites will be here for a very long time

Jessica T. Matthews

Don’t get a room near the exit doors if you’re a light sleeper The exit door slammed all night & all morning with guests entering & exiting They weren’t noisy (just the door slamming)

The room was spacious ( 2 queen beds) as well as the bathroom It’s not crammed liked some hotel rooms The bed was comfortable & there are soft & firm pilllows available The linen & towels were not dingy nor stained like some hotels (even though I travel with my own) The water was hot and drained properly in the tub However, the toilet handle has to be held down for a proper flush (Rm 129) The room also has a ceiling fan Breakfast is available: pork sausage, turkey sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, cheese omelet, cinnamon rolls, fresh fruit, bagels, yogurt & a few other options The paper that’s given when checking in states breakfast is grab & go & for guests to eat in their rooms, but apparently this is either no longer in place or not enforced as people still ate in the breakfast area The pool is openCons: The hotel needs to be sprayed more frequently My friend killed 3 large roaches in our room during our stay The room wasn’t dirty & had a pleasant smell upon entering (not too strong) However, housekeeping could be a little better There was hair in the tub Also, underneath the toilet seat was stained I bring bleach cleaners, disinfectant spray & wipes with me So I sprayed & wiped everything But guests shouldn’t have to do thisOverall, I would stay here again All staff members I encountered were nice, pleasant, friendly & professional (front desk, housekeeping, & breakfast attendant)

Rooms are great Their clean and updated The front desk is very helpful and nice

Beds are super comfy and breakfast is yummy The location couldn’t be better you are literally 5 mins from everything Oh yeah and the pool is great too My only complaint was that the housekeeper would not clean my room She would come in and change my trash bags and sometimes give me towels NEVER MOPPED I had to use a towel and do it myself She rarely made my bed even when I asked her toWhich I rarely asked for roomservice and when I did it would be worst than when I didn’t want roomservice Idk I think she was snooping or wanting to go home early My company paid 110/night for 17 nights so you would think that room service would be on point And that management would let her know that it’s not ok to slack All in all though wonderful hotel

Chelete B

I showed up to my room and walked in and the bed was not made trash in room and tv on This was at 8 pm I was afraid someone was already in room

They give me another room and put me by the exit I said no bc I’m a woman alone3rd room was by elevator

Winona Gates

For a new hotel it’s gone downhill quick They are understaffed in housekeeping Lots of workers stay here

It already needs to be scrubbed clean The sweet housekeeping ladies do a good job, they are understaffed and not wiping everything down between guests There is splatters of dried blood on the bathroom ceiling in the room i am in Overall structure of the hotel build is extremely poor The door to the bathroom hits the toilet Very annoying and gross Ive stayed twice I think the day shift workers are rude It’s as if you are bothering them when asking anything They will answer or check you out, but it’s the attitude The night workers coming in are pleasant No issue there Not sure why hotel industry can’t maintain cleanliness as a whole

The moment I entered the hotel, I was immediately greeted with an old musty smell It was a bit difficult to breathe in, but throughout the night, I was able to tolerate it The beds are comfortable, hotel and room design is pretty simple and basic, and towels are clean

The bath tub didn’t drain as I was taking a shower and I couldn’t incline the office chair up that was in the room In the morning, we had breakfast that was equally okay The waffles were very bitter, but the yogurt they have is pretty good and healthy Overall, it was a pretty okay experience and it was nice spending my time lodging outside of my home

Brenda

This was a very nice and clean Best Western The price was very reasonable as well Only around 100

dollars for the night Also included was a decent breakfast in the morning The Texas shaped waffles were really cute The Staff was very friendly We would definitely choose this location again when passing through this way in the future

Stayed here overnight on our way back from visiting friends on the east coast Checked in with Arlene who was very nice and welcoming We’re traveling with our two year old and she included him in the conversation, which was an added plus as he was all over the lobby after a 10 hour drive

Our room was upgraded to a suite and the additional space was a welcome surprise we didn’t know we needed The room had a slight musty smell until the air kicked on, but that’s to be expected in the southern part of the states Overall it was a great accommodation for our one night stay over If we ever make the drive back east again we’ll definitely stay again, hopefully we’ll be treated by the smiling face of Arlene again!

Anna Elizalde

Our car broke down in Orange Traveling with 90 year old parents The staff was extremely accommodating, helpful and kind – especially Arlene Rust

That lady should be the spokeswoman for Holiday Inn Express- she deserves a raise! She definitely went over and above her job description to help us The rooms were nice and clean Breakfast was good However the staff is 5 star !

Sweet staff Rooms were clean but could use a better vacuum Hallways need to be vacuumed daily since this is a area where a lot of construction workers are staying

Upon entering we noticed hallways were dirty 2 days later still carpets are not vacuumed Breakfast is standard hotel breakfast I only like fresh fruit and oatmeal and they had neither unfortunately Serve yourself waffle, cereal or breads Dryer downstairs made unbelievably loud noises No business center as advertised Would stay again despite few things I dislikedPS maybe they need to purchase better vacuums

Kellan Evans

The room smells a bit funny but the AC was fine and the fridge worked great

Breakfast area was big while the pool was closed for “renovations” that theyve been doing for 1 year+ The elevator was also not finished and just had a dinky layer of cardboard with several holes in it All they really need to do is FINISH THE RENOVATIONS!!!

Friendly and helpful staffNice breakfast area and great pool!Upon arrival our room was musty, the bathroom door knob was broken, the bathroom floor was less than clean etcIt needed a thorough cleaning

Margaret Deshotel

The room was nice and clean The hotel was up to date The service was great

No issues at all Asked for the 1st floor and was given it The hot breakfast was great with non pork meat options! Loved that, very thoughtful! Location was easy to get to with a lit parking lot and a visiable camera I got approached by someone looking to make money when I pulled in which was a slight turn off but they drove away when I told them no So my experience was great The room came with a microwave and fridge No nasty smells in hotel or room!

Hotel is nice and clean We had breakfast in the restaurant there and it was decent The main complaint we had was the pool

My two young boys wanted to swim and when we were about to jump in we noticed a ton of bugs floating on top of the water Even the hot tub was full of bugs I asked the front desk to send someone to clean it and a lady employee came out and didn’t do anything to fix the problem She moved the pool net cleaner around a few times and then put it back I ended up trying to get the bugs out and when I did they were huge ants that were still alive Needless to say my two boys ended up not swimming and we’re very upset about it Will stay here again but come on Hilton You can do better with your pool!

Linnette

I am a pretty light sleeper I didn’t think that the highway noise was that bad for me compared to the other reviews However, they do have a bar that stays open late and the other guests are super loud and obnoxious

I can hear them clearly from my room I’m surprised they allow that Guests were rowdy well past 11pm thereThe hotel was really clean The breakfast is quite expensive and as mediocre as any other hotel Staff was extremely pleasant Rating based on cleanliness Took a star off for noise I think they need to do without the bar for the sake of other guests We stayed for multiple days

My husband and I stayed here over a weekend in February, and we had an incredible stay! We booked just a normal king room, and due to some reason on their end we were upgraded to a king suite for free!! It was a fun surprise and we loved our room This was our first introduction to the area, as we move in a month, and I’m glad it was a great experience I will absolutely recommend this hotel to any out of town company that visits

Clean, friendly, good water pressure, dark rooms for sleeping, location near TONS of food and right on the highway so it’s easy to get around

Catherine Hautala

This is a hotel that needs some renovation! In addition to that, the first room they put us in had cockroaches! They changed our room but we were completely creeped-out after that I felt the need to check out all the dark corners of the second room with a flash light after that! This is the only hotel I have ever had cockroaches!…and a Hilton property no less!! Anyway the bed and linen were comfortable and the breakfast was good……But they have cockroaches!!!!!

The first night the TV didn’t work So we were moved to another room The front desk young lady was super nice

And quickly handled the problem And also I didn’t know you could barbque by the stairs at a hotel and have loud music going on The first morning breakfast was good Second & third morning not so good Second morning no pancakes or eggs or yogurt Third morning no eggs again The third morning the front desk woman was always saying sh*t and complaining of not feeling well And the place looked horrible Very dirty We did mention to the lady She replied I know We cleaned our own table too and went to restroom to clean the our grandbabies hands and a big bottle of Clorox was sitting on sink and yes Open So the grandchildren knew to stay back till the product was closed and put in the corner and out of the way The cleaning ladies were nice The location was great The room was clean and smelled clean Breakfast and front desk needs to improve Oh if you are going to have fresh apples Please have good ones Thank you

Jennifer McDaniel

Nice rooms with full sized refrigerator, microwave, stovetop, etc However, we only needed and used the refrigerator The room was clean, beds comfortable enough and location was central for all the places we needed to be that weekend

Curtains didn’t close all the way, so we had to use a pen through a hole previously made by someone prior to us to keep privacy Breakfast for average as expected, but they had good coffee which is all that mattered really, haha! Closet and drawers provided enough storage and a desk for working The only bad part was I left my best shoes behind I wish hotels would call when they find missing items That would be above and beyond service people would appreciate

W W

Will never stay at this place ever again WAY OVERRATED!! When I travel for work, last thing I need is to have a room booked next to a crying child at all hours of the day and night

staff takes no consideration when placing you in a room Rude staff, dirty rooms, unclean showers, excessive noise problems and no compensation nor consideration your just a paycheck to them

I was first placed in a room with a horrible odor and the bedroom air conditioner/heater did not work in heat mode but did make a lot of surging sounds I had to try to use the heat as it had been left on AC at 60 degrees at sometime before I arrived When I was moved to a second room, there was still an unsatisfying odor but at least it was not overpowering

The furniture in both rooms is truly threadbare and is not fit for even a donation It should just be burned The breakfast area chairs had stains all over them and food was on the floor under the tables despite breakfast just opening up The juices were all watered down and undrinkable despite just opening up as well The carpet is frayed where it runs along the bottom of the walls (not a typical place, indicating it was much overdue for replacement or installed poorly to begin with) and it did not inspire confidence that it was truly clean I would not walk on it barefoot or even in socked feet The wall paper was torn off in places along the hallway (perhaps this was the renovation?) and overall I did not enjoy my stay Not sure why this is a 41 customer rating When staying at hotel for $120+ Taxes and a Hilton brand at that, I expect better than I could get at a Super 8 or Motel 6

Don’t waste your money This is not at the normal quality level you expect with Homewood Suites for sure The carpet is disgusting, furniture is extremely uncomfortable and has stains

Side and back doors are never locked even though the sign says they remain locked at all times for safety And it’s a complete toss up as to what you’re going to get with the front desk employees One of them was extremely nice, one of them was extremely rude and hateful

ABSOLUTELY AVOID!!!Rooms were certainly below standard, but that’s my least biggest complaint There were individuals staying there (apparently friends of the front desk ladies) that would sit around as if they were at home, then they would start arguing and fist fight with each other MULTIPLE times over the course of our stay Cops were there multiple times a day, however these individuals were still allowed free roam throughout the hotel lobby and were never told to leave the premisis (and I am not convinced they didn’t have something to do with the theft that happened)

The 2nd night there, out catalytic converters were cut out of our vehicle, leaving us stranded We had to make trips to multiple different auto stores to piece together parts to fix it, leading to a late checkout, and when we asked the front lady to show some mercy on the late checkout after all we had been through, she absolutely refused and said it’s hotel policy to charge an extra dayYou couldn’t get me to stay here again if I was homeless living on the street! What is the management (or lack thereof?) doing in this place!!?This is one of the worst, if not THE worst hotel I have ever stayed at
