The staff was phenomenal! From front desk to the housekeepers to valet… they most definitely kept me coming back! The bar and the food was excellent as wellThat being said, I understand it is an older boutique hotel but if you are sensitive to sounds, this will be a bother You can hear everything above you and outside your door very easily, even as simply as someone moving around above you walking or people walking past your room

Not a lot sound of sound proofing and kept me up, it almost felt like apartment style livingHotel staff is very great but structurally, needs improvements & kept me up at night

The building is older, the elevator is slow and the rooms aren’t perfect but it’s heritage architecture, and I liked my time at The Exchange a lot, enjoying two different stays so far ~ including New Years The staff are a huge plus (front desk staff are awesome, including Latorra) and the location is great if you’re into downtown nightlife or a walk by the water I stayed with my dog Leroy and there was no stress, with lots for him and I to do nearby

The small menu has a vegan option for me (Hummus Sandwich, very good), Leroy went crazy for the baked (not fried) chicken wings and Jordan makes a mean drink at the stylish bar There’s some work to do, sure, but I’m super happy I found The Exchange; it’s reasonably priced, clean and fun, fun fun

T

My family and I had a fantastic time staying here The architecture was beautiful and the location was perfect—within walking distance to all of our events, near a lot of great restaurants, and close to the shore The staff was extremely accommodating and professional, helping us out whenever we asked, always kind and courteous

Valet was friendly, helpful, and funny I didn’t catch the name, but the two guys who rotated while we were there were wonderful

Spacious rooms, great location and fantastic breakfast! My wife and I normally stay at 4+ Star hotels but decided to try a bed and breakfast for our recent trip to St Petersburg I can not over state how pleasantly surprised and happy we were with our decision to stay the The Bay Street InnOur room was much more spacious than an average high end hotel room with all the regular amenities

The staff was very helpful and couldn’t have been kinder We will definitely be rebooking The Bay Street Inn every time we return to St PeteAlso, one of the automated scooter rental parking spots is just down the road making it super easy to get around down town

When we arrived, there was champagne waiting for us and she greeted us personally to welcome us to the property The location is great and the room was clean and comfortable We stayed in the king apt with the double jacuzzi This was the perfect room for a couple looking for a romantic getaway

Stacey Frentz

We had the most amazing weekend in the Carriage House at the Bay Street Inn! This hotel is fun, funky, and cool! Rooms are basic but stylish and immaculately clean Lots of great hang out space to meet other guests and staff is friendly and helpful Unbelievable location– easy walking distance or quick Uber to world-class attractions, local restaurants, and shopping

The Tap Room restaurant in The Avalon’s sister property next door has great food and is open early and late for sit down, quick bites, or something from the bar Would absolutely recommend staying here Only suggestion to improve the experience: an in room mini fridge would be really nice and our room could have used a second lamp

Darrin Brooks

What a nice place to stay if you are visiting St Pete the staff welcomed warmly and the room was small but very clean and just what you need

It is an older building that has all charm and a good location to spend time being a tourist in St PeteI would absolutely stay here again when we visit the area They offer wine in the afternoon and they have this great outside porch to just relax and enjoy your wine and spend a few moments in peace

Honestly I have nothing negative to say about this hotel as it met my expectations perfectly Clean, comfortable, and quiet Additionally the design of the hotel is rather interesting and makes for plenty of parking underneath the hotel (which is free)

Also I noticed that there were three EV chargers which is great to see in a more budget-friendly hotel The staff was great and was able to get me checked in early which was a huge plus Only negative would be getting out of the hotel and back onto the main road You usually just had to wait a minute or two for the flow or cars to go past but still a bit annoying

K Jacobs

1st room the AC didn’t work Changed to a new room and there was a distinct pest control smell that was there all 3 nights we stayed Housekeeping was not great

At checkout they charged my cc for premium internet which I didn’t sign up for or use Called 3x to get credit on my cc They were somewhat rude but said I would receive credit No credit received Did a chargeback with my credit card DO BETTER

We really like this little hotel Extremely clean rooms, facilities, which is top criteria for us (We always wipe high-touch items down anyway

This was one of the few hotels we’ve experienced that actually seems to clean the headboard, for instance, which we lean against for TV)EVERY STAFF MEMBER I encountered was professional, friendly, helpful, attentive, and good-natured You can tell this hotel really takes care of its peopleSpecifically, Marcus always offered great advice and suggestions You could tell he really was *thinking* about your question or matter and wanted to offer the best response Ruben was also another stand-out, just an all-around cool person, helpful, and patient Actually, they both wereThe King suites were pretty comfortable, although a bit cramped Esp when someone is at the desk, you have to kind of sidle around Breakfast is “okay” We don’t eat a lot of carbs or processed food, so would prefer eggs & protein instead of breakfast sandwiches Although, they’re not badWe started out with a very lackluster experience at a Home2 Suites close by I’d booked and paid for the room, went up, thought about it and we came back down and checked out, and came back to TownePlace We don’t need (or deserve) to be treated like the other hotel when we’re paying for accommodations We were only at the other place for the better breakfast options, anyway We were happy to return to our friends at TownePlaceBy the way, on our second stay in particular, we found the lobby to be a GREAT place to hold work/study calls at any hour except breakfast It’s laid out thoughtfully, and there isn’t a huge echo-y space, like at Sleep Inn down the road It’s pretty easy to find privacy with the way seating and dividers are arranged (On first stay, one of the TVs was up a little loud, and I saw no way to turn it down a notch)Note, the lobby coffee is old and seems only to be put out once: in the morning at breakfast The K-cups in the rooms are lackluster To me, they taste a bit like dust, ashes, and grass lol I brought my own coffee here I did appreciate the irish creme creamers on our first stay Unfortunately, only hazelnut was available on our secondFinally, we liked how the lobby was on the second floor, and you can only get to higher floors if you have a working key card Nice for securityWe’d absolutely stay here again (and again)!

Check in was very quick and easy, they also have free breakfast every morning (6:30am) which is fantastic! Bathroom was clean, bed is incredibly comfortable and the room is spacious with a kitchen (stove and refrigerator)

I was there for a convention and the hotel was very close They gave an air conditioned gym and a self serve laundry and a very nice pool area to stay cool Staff was polite and service is quick All I all a very worry free stay This is my go to hotel when I visit Tampa!

Megan LoPiccolo

The rooms were clean, big suite, enough room for our family of 5 I would have given 5 stars but we weren’t happy that the pool closed at SEVEN o’clock most hotels we’ve stayed at and we’ve stayed at many, close at 9, 10 or even at 11 pm The fresh baked cookies were yum and breakfast was decent I just wished it went a tad later like 10 but there were a lot of choices

I would stay again if it wasn’t so pricey

We were there to help my Mother-In-law close the deal for a new house in the area We always stay at Hampton Inn’s for we always have had fantastic experiences This was no exception

The staff was absolutely excellent! They even let us print some contract material, which went well beyond what is required The pool and breakfast were equally excellent The one issue is the mattress for the pull out mattress was slightly soiled, but in no way takes away from the overall experience Very well done!

We were in Tampa for a wedding and stayed three nights in the guest house The guest house was fabulous, lots of space for everyone Main living space was exceptionally nice with river views

The grounds were also very nice We really enjoyed relaxing in the beach lounge chairs and around the fire pit area Unfortunately, we did not have time to kayak or use the pool while there Kris is extremely kind and provided anything we needed Breakfast was excellent and we were offered many choices Loved the homemade muffins, yogurt cups and soufflés

Wendy Imboden

I headed to the Tampa area for an impromptu get-away and much needed rest Stumbled on Riverbend Retreat’s website and booked a week stay I cannot speak highly enough about this peaceful retreat

The home and grounds were more than lovely with lush vegetation and spectacular views of the river The rooms were clean, cozy, and very homey Many extra perks included such as timely breakfast each morning and heart warming conversations with the hosts if you choose Kris and Bob have created a restful paradise on every level Will definitely be back!

Kent Misegades

The owners were very friendly and the facilities were delightful It was surprisingly quiet given its proximity to a large metropolitan are, like an oasis Especially Christians will feel at home here – we were invited to attend the owners’ Bible study group from their church which happened to be meeting at the retreat

We made some great new friends and expanded our knowledge of the Bible, in our opinion tremendous perks for staying here We’ll recommend this to fellow Christians for individual or group stays for a few days of peace in turbulent times

Hotel looks very nice, but my daughter was BIT by either a bedbug or a flea! I was laying in the bed feeling very itchy, so I thought I’d go and take a shower to see if that helped I moved to the other bed in the double Queen room and was fine A few minutes later, my daughter complained itching and something biting her

Low and behold, she had three visible bites from laying in the very same spot I was laying in The front desk manager didn’t offer any kind of refund but the lady working the night shift brought us clean sheets My daughter refused to sleep in the bed after getting bit so I sacrificed for my child’s comfort, and went back to the itchy bed I felt something crawling in my hair and felt itchy most of the night Sadly, I was told by the hotel manager, Erin, that only housekeeping could verify if there were live bugs, which is quite comical since fleas and bedbugs are very tiny and hard for the eye to see as it is!!!! She basically kept saying it might have been a mosquito and made me to feel as if my claim was invalid which was quite insulting She definitely could have taken care of me by offering some kind of refund credit My total was $179 and some change after taxes she just kept repeating we were staying at a discounted price already and she could offer me a free drink or food item from their snack bar I would have been a returning customer if they would have taken care of me but bugs and bites are a HUGE NO FOR ME!!!! Terrible Poor business Poor management So disappointed!!!! I asked my daughter to show me her bites, and yes she got three visible bites from laying in that bed!!! I have one bite on my leg as well but it’s all in my head, right? People beware!!!! You will most likely have the same issue and be made out to seem as if you’re making it all up… I was told pest control just came and sprayed Tuesday so obviously they have a problem with pests to begin with GO SOMEWHERE ELSE UNLESS YOU WANT BUG BITES!!!

Do not stay at this place My card was charged THREE times and all were for the wrong amount Read entire review

Upon checking in I find my fire alarm in my room is beeping LOUDLY I go to the front desk to see what can be done It was late so no maintenance was available The clerk, who was very nice, called her manager to see what to do There were no other available rooms like the one I reserved, the manager offered to split up my party, take two rooms at twice the cost or remove the fire alarm ( saves lives) and I said absolutely not, the manager replied, you can check out if you want thenAt that point it was 10pm and I was ready to get sleep I had to take couch from the front lounge to stand on to reach the fire alarm to take it off the wall I’m 6ft tall and I was on a couch on the tips of my feet to get this off the wallAfter my stay, I received a online survey about my stay I and answered it honestly and politelyI am back in town this upcoming week for work, again, I booked a stay here, again, as it’s 12 miles from where I have to beErin called me just now and revoked my reservation due to me leaving a negative review What type of business does this?!My first name is Jack and my last name starts with the letter S If the owner of this hotel are my review, please call me

We planned to stay a week at what we thought was a RV Resort but realized very quickly that this is a mobile home community with a few RV sites We had to be moved from our original assigned site to another nicer one because our rig was too big for it This place is misrepresented on their website

It did not have laundry facilities nor did they share that they were under construction building it What a waste of time and money on this stop for us If you are looking to bring your RV and live here, this might be an option I think they pay rent instead of owning the property but the mobile homes were very dated so who knows what the situation really islots of very senior adults living very close together with no security at all Definitely not for RVers looking for an RV Resort

This was our first time staying here but definitely not our last Our AC broke and the heat displaced my family of 5, including our 3 young sons We came in late last night, were put in a comfy room and slept so peacefully

The staff was amazing! Debra in the dining room was amazing! My sons loved her She made us feel at home despite our displacement When we told Cesar at the front desk how amazing Debra and Genevieve were, he encouraged us to leave a review Cesar also acknowledged us as Gold members, he was very kind We will recommend to others and we will be back

Sadly I am rating this a one only because ZERO is not an option I am writing this review as a former employee hoping future applicants are able to get a view on how it is to work at this hotel First and foremost I have 5+ years with hotel experience and I have never worked in a hotel with such POOR management

Never have I felt where I was less important then the head managers here, where they are NOT WILLING to work with there employees; as if they only really care about themselves Not to mention that the employees are not informed when the hotel has bed bugs, bugs that I took home cause I was NOT INFORMED about them Overall I hope changes are made so not only future employees and be happy but current ones as well

LynAnn Phifer

We stayed here about 6 weeks ago My only complaint now is that the breakfast was much better 6 weeks ago They used to have bagels, bread and English muffins to toast, now that has all been taken away

They had eggs you could scoop now They have egg sandwiches that are pre wrapped in plastic The breakfast really wasn’t the quality it was 6 weeks ago

What a value! And if you like antiques, this is the place for you! DH said it was like a stay at Grandma’s The service was excellent! Breakfast was included as was overnight parking We just missed the inn’s happy hour

We booked directly through the inn for the best rate The rooms may show a few dings in the paint, but it’s all a part of period charm The linens were spotless!

We needed a short getaway and decided to go to StPete We found The Inn on Third and gave it a try

It’s a charming place with great hospitality The owners operate the business and somehow create the feeling that you are staying with family while there The location in the arts district is very convenient and the proximity to the “pier” is an easy walk If you are looking for high luxury, this is not it The rooms are adequate, the wifi is very good (and free) If you are looking for location with good service and friendly atmosphere, this may be just right

Kitt

Despite it being a historic property, the room was clean and smelled fresh I was worried it may be dingy like some other hotels I’ve been to that are old The front desk service was amazing

Bill welcomed us and was overly helpful and friendly We also dealt with the owner on a couple of occasions He was incredibly pleasant as well The location is perfect, reasonably priced We will definitely be back!

We were in room #111 facing east Our room wasn’t fancy but was stylishly decorated and we enjoyed our stay We had water on both sides of the hotel so plenty of scenery was available

We met friends in St Pete/Clearwater a couple of times (45 minute drive) The Sunset Grill and Beach bar provided good food and drinks and is a 3 minute walk Bahia beach (3 minute walk) is small but it worked for our needs Other than that, there is not much in the area

Tammy Lewis

I will never visit this place again The host and property manager (QWEN) was EXTREMELY rude and disrespectful We had to contact them numerous times before receiving a short response

We asked to change our reservation due to a tragic event and she refused to even speak with us Booking contacted them and advised us of how distasteful their management was to them as well Sadly, they have ruined a trip for our children with their lack of manners and business skills I recommend they find someone else to manage their units before they find themselves in a lawsuit

I highly don’t recommend this place for having a stress free vacation this place is a joke

trash and cigarette butts everywhere, the pool was nasty the hot tub was nasty and so was the beach the check in process is flavegasting I got the feeling as though I was being scammed seriously a lack of communication Qwen the host seems to be money hungry in trying to charge for every little detail do yourself a favor and pass this one by it’s a doozey for sure
