Alison
We stayed in the motel itself just for one night and had a nice stay! It was cute and we had all the basic necessities I enjoyed the atmosphere and found it very relaxing and cozy We did not have any issues and I would definitely come back again if in the area
It is a great spot for a comfortable and affordable stay that is not far from the Portland airport
Madalyn Lejeune
Absolutely charming and interesting property and cottages with lots of beautiful plants, vegetation and trees We stayed in number 1 Even at night, there was cute lighting and we even spotted fireflies near the gazebo swing! The only downside for the price, was the bed
It was a bit hard & the middle sunken in a bit My back was a little mad at me for it The comforter also seemed dated and uncomfortable Otherwise, we had a lovely stay and even got the chance to enjoy the pool! Good for anyone looking for fun amenities and a good location!
Paul Logothetis
We stayed in Cottage 7, which was clean and orderly The A/C worked well and all of the fixtures were fine Nice play areas for the kids, including a swing set and a clean pool which is surrounded by bird houses and their inhabitants, so a nice bit of nature watching for youngsters
The only complaint would be the cabin was outdated and needs some love for the price, particularly the bathroom But for one night, it worked for us and staff was helpful

The two stars were for the accommodations Could tell they have made some improvements The room was spacious, the bed was comfy, and it was very quiet
The reason it is not 4 or 5 is the rude staff The check in process was, frankly, awful The person checking me in was rude and seemed bothered that I was there First, my reservation “couldn’t be found” Showed her the email to receive a rude “Well, that doesn’t mean anything to me” Then, she “found” it I would stay again if I didn’t have to deal with her
Jay Joyner
The rooms and accomodations were nice, a little dated for the price you pay per night though The walls are paper thin, so you hear the people in the next room AC units are old, so don’t expect them to work
The microwaves are 850W, so plan to eat out They ONLY Have NIGHTLY rates (I was told this multiple times by a very rude lady at the desk) This place does not have weekly rates or extended stay rooms
Ann Young
We stayed here in July 2021 and enjoyed a wonderful experience all around Our room was simple but spotless, comfortable and had everything we needed Motel staff were incredibly accommodating and gave us some terrific recommendations for nearby dining and activity options
The best part? THE TROLLEY stops right at the motel!!! For a couple dollars each, we hopped on and enjoyed a beautiful day at the beach and bars – no traffic, no parking fees, no hassle If you’re looking for a safe, clean, friendly motel that won’t break the bank, this place is a gem

The hotel was conveniently close to highways, beaches, and downtown Saco There were restaurants and other businesses within walking distance Our room was quiet, immaculately clean and the beds were very comfortable! Check-in was quick and the clerk was very polite and helpful
We look forward to staying here again when we come to Saco to visit family!

I didn’t really feel comfortable/ safe t not saying the location is a bad place but you never know what could happen the door swing like to the outside and not the inside and there’s only one lock on the door and it’s not like a heavy duty door either the window where cheap anyone could just pop it Just sketchy overall then they should update their locks at least maybe the locks on the windows

My family had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Billowhouse for a week in July From the moment we arrived we felt at home Our room was perfectly appointed and even included daily home baked cookies
Our balcony had stunning views of the ocean The Inn is in walking distance to the beach, lovely soda shop, gift shop and both tennis and and shuffleboard courts We loved every minute and already booked our return trip for next year!

Extremely clean rooms All beach amenities on the propery
chairs, umbrellas, and towels float boards and toys Kitchen items and utensils all there Most dishes and utensils needed cleaned before use, as previous renters not so conscientious If any kitchen item missing, ask and it is, most likely, availableCheck in VERY STRESSFUL Rude and impatient, manager, Judi Questions not welcome This same exact attitude greeted me over 20 years ago as well 45 mins prior to check in, another guest in our party (11 people, renting 5 rooms during same week, you do the math), asked to use the restroom and was told by Judi, manager, there was not a bathroom available to non-guests The 3pm check-in and $$$$ full payment needed, before personal dignity for anyoneEach of our party was greeted with some version of Judi’s irritatation and inhospitable attitude Very strange for a family owned business, making 90% of their income during 90 days of the year During the week long stay, Judi was more amenable, but certainly not pleasant, EVER Always on the verge of defensive or righteous and interuptive interaction Questions met with condescension, making one avoid her, even if one is truly in need of help Management may have all amenities which are, or can be provided, but BILLOWHOUSE IS MISSING THE TOUCH OF A WARM, GRACIOUS, AND GRATEFUL HOSTAlso, only rooms above 2nd floor have a beach view Basement apartments and rooms 4, 5, and 6 look at the sand dunes, which have risen over the past 25 years Do not expect to see or hear the waves in these lower units, regardless of what you are told ASK for room 1, 2, or 3 Or on a floor above those roomsA/C is turned off many days, and coming in from hot day at the beach is not refreshing, to say the least I would advise putting a note that instructs “do not turn off”I see many positive reviews, but I feel many people “review” with a stay elsewhere, rather than honest constructive information in this review format Billowhouse has been a favorite for many, year after year, so frequent flyers put up, and shut up They may feel more comfortable/used to the overall Billowhouse attitude The beach is close, and that is the focus of the trip Did I mention Judi can be seen at anytime, smoking on the perimeter of the property, leaving a faint smell of stale tobacco all areas of the facility?

Loved our short stay at this motel! It was clean, not fancy but that is uneccessary at the beach The location was amazing and access to the beach was perfect Very impressed with the pool area, very clean and extremely well maintained
The deck boards are timber tech so they were not harsh on your feetMy response to ones that claim the staff was rude was misinterpreting the staff My impression was that they were strict and conscientious of their property and I personally am thankful for that It made for a clean, quiet, and peaceful getaway spot

My partner and I (We are both 18) were able to make a reservation a month or two early on my birthday We showed up to an empty lobby and once the office lady showed up she asked if we were both 21+ which we were not I had a panic attack because we had no where to stay that night, and she had no concerns or offers to help us or even recommend another place that might accept us
When asked she simply said “most places are like that” Thankfully some older woman saw me upset and offered to help and was making sure we got somewhere to stay There was no where online saying 21+ I don’t recommend this hotel to anyone who’s looking for caring staff members or adjustability Even after looking through bookingcom there is no where that says 21+ that is “clearly listed”

Cozy rooms, amazing location, resa is amazing and the included breakfast is an absolute must Perfect for families or solo/couples This is old-school B&B, warm walls and creaky floors with fascinating guests and wonderful weathered beach-house vibe
My middle child took his first steps here and my youngest started speaking while here Just a great place and we’ll keep coming back

What an excellent stay for our whole family! You can’t beat the location, the view and the amenities! I grew up coming to Ocean Park every summer as a kid but it’s been over 10 years since I’ve been back When it was time to take my own family, we found the Nautilus to be both affordable, convenient and practical for our 5 night stay We were lucky enough to get the Penthouse which was absolutely amazing with its sweeping views of Camp Ellis, Ocean Park and Old Orchard Beach
They even had a crib for our toddler Resa was a fabulous host and made delicious breakfast every morning as well as helped out with anything you needed Will definitely be back again!

We LOVED our stay here at the Nautilus! My boyfriend grew up going to Ocean Park and every summer for about 15 years We wanted to take a trip and stay near the beach We were literally on the beach
The house was built in the 1890s and it is beautiful! It does have updates to it since then but you don’t lose a bit of the charmWe stayed in the old inn keepers room on the main floor, and it had its own bathroom Our room had a window AC unit and it’s own mini fridge as well as a ceiling fan I do think it needs more outlets but we just used one in the bathroom They provide you with bath towels, fresh beach towels everyday, washcloths, face towels and bath matsResa is the manager their and was absolutely wonderful She cooked delicious breakfasts and is available if you need anything One day we had avocado toast, scrambled eggs, fresh baked blueberry buckle, blueberry corn muffins, and chocolate oatmeal protein cookies Various breads, bagels, and English muffins are available as well as butter, peanut butter, and jelly There is always coffee, tea, and water and ice on handIn addition to breakfast the house has a whole closet FULL of board games and activities to play if you find yourself inside for an afternoon storm There is plenty of common areas to hang out and do a puzzle or play a game The house also has plenty of beach items for you to use including beach chairs, umbrellas, footballs, volleyballs, sand toys, bikes, helmets, and various other thingsYou do need to park on the street, but there was ample parking and you don’t really have to move your car that often because there is so much within walking distance Overall I couldn’t speak highly enough about our stay Consider us new regulars

Very nice campground! Lots of activities for kids, a nice, clean pool The pool was completely clear when I last went in, but sometimes underwater it’s harder to see The splash pad is really fun, especially for my baby brother
Very friendly people in the campground, and a nice and organized store We have a seasonal here, and come up every weekend It’s worth the money! Also, for anyone going downtown, you can pay $1 a person for the trolley It comes every half hour, and has a stuffed bear for kids to sit next to
Jason Reynolds
This is an old school OOB ‘city’ style campground, and we’ve stayed at a few over the years You’ll get to know your neighbor because you don’t have a choice as it’s tight in there They won’t bother you if you let loose a bit
I didn’t see much regard for the 5mph speed limit, but I did crawl through with my breaks constantly applied as I do through every campground much to the consternation of those wanting to be somewhere else more quickly We camped with several other families with older (non-teen) kids and really had a blast Pool(s) are on point Great horse-shoe pits The majority of the sites are seasonal and people have some amazing set-ups which look like many seasons in the making Everyone was welcoming My only ding was the beer selection in the store – add at least one craft brew to satisfy the beer snobs! We’ll be back for another weekend in the future
Sambucus Canadensis
Pool was beautiful and grandkids had a blast on the splashpad Was a decent experience until we tried to leave our “pull-through” site Some person parked his truck right in the middle of the exit drive from the path
We had to maneuver our 32 foot trailer out an alternate way asking people to move their cars so we could get out Took almost a half hour to get out Admittedly it was Labor Day weekend, but the lack of parking for the sites pushes parked cars out on the road so it only takes one inconsiderate person to to block you inThe experience during the week when it was less crowded was pretty good The park is very heavily weighted towards seasonal sitesOther than how tight it is, everything else was fine But having a big truck and a large trailer we won’t be back One of the people who had to move their vehicle to allow us to get out agreed that it is way too tight and they were not going to return either, for the same reasonBottom line, i you have a smaller trailer and/or are very experienced in tight maneuvering, I would recommend Otherwise, no
