Had a 3rd floor room facing Blanco Road, which was nice Check-in was smooth, staff were great They have a nice bar area in the lobby

Room was very clean, smelled good , and the bed was very comfortable While the shower was amazing, it seemed like the shower door wouldn’t close all the way, which allowed some water to get out Other than that, the location is very ideal, within walking distance of many restaurants, as well as a Target nearby, and North Star mall about a 10-15 minute walk away I’d definitely stay here again

Sam

all the staff are awesome Annette always is wonderful in the morning and Hannah and Rayleigh at the front desk are so friendly and on top of it Christian is a great manager and is great also

I stay here a lot for work and it’s like catching up with friends when I run into these people every time nice clean rooms and very pleasant stay

Sarah Trant

The lobby is nice We checked in right at 3, and it took them a bit to get a room ready for us, but I didn’t mind the few minutes waiting When we got to our room I put some food in the mini fridge, but it was barely cool and full of water from the freezer section thawing out

Checked on the plug in and pushed it in and the fridge kicked onThe room itself is fine, unless you get in a room anywhere near the elevator, when anytime it gets used there is a loud screeching noise and the room shakes Tried turning the fan on in the AC unit to see if that would help drown out the noise, but it sounded like an jet engine By 1AM I had it and asked to switch rooms, which thankfully they were able to put us at the opposite end of the hall from the elevator This room had something on the toilet seat and a bug on one of the beds Unsure if it is a bedbug or not I tore the beds apart and did not see any more or other signs of them Some of the floor boards are coming off in the bathroom so I’m not surprised bugs would be in hereSo far the second room had a much quieter AC unit, the fridge was already cold, and I can’t hear the elevator

The night person working the front desk was extremely friendly! Really set the tone for the property and our impression that this location cares about their guests Give her kudos please! She also gave us a small bag of snacks for our loyalty status The room was clean and the bed comfortable

Nothing exceptional in terms of the newness of the hotel, but fair for the price

Natalie Norrell

I stayed here in early August of 2022Staff was friendly, but the hotel was a bit disheveled The hallways, elevator, and laundry room were hot and muggy like there was no AC or ventilation in them

The room I was in was a clean, but well worn The continental breakfast was a disappointment, only had a few options and some of what they did have have was grossOn top of all of this, a cleaning lady entered my room around 1:30pm because she thought I had already checked out, and the hotel had to shut off the water for a few hours because of a plumbing issueI have high standards for Marriott hotels, and overall this was a big disappointment I would have left a 1-star review if the staff hadn’t been so friendly

Zee G

Staff was friendly Cleaning Staff was friendly Quality of the room was not so great

we reserved a couple of rooms and one was rather worn missing carpet patch Water damage spots on the ceiling by the window and a few in the bathroom It seemed like there was water damage on the floor between the bed and the window unit because it was sunken in a little One piece of wall art was broken and had broken glass on one corner and we reported it 3 different times and no one offered to take it out, luckily we weren’t in the room enough to worry about itWe had problems with the key card more often than not and had to replace them twice The swiper was loose and the night clerk said we would have to push up to make it work The shower looked pretty worn and the faucet looked like it had been cleaned with an inappropriate chemicalThe beds were rather stiff and not at all like some of the Springhill locations that we have stayed at previously although the price was comparableOne of the little ones walked around barefoot in one of the other rooms and her little feet were dirtyPool was nice and clean not too big but good enough Breakfast was ok according to family membersLocation was great for what we wanted to visit

More could have been done to be accommodated, but instead we received nothing in exchange, although the main thing which was the Spa was not working at the time of our arrival You would think that at least a discount for the next visit would be offered, but not even that was given to us Very poor customer service skills and in my opinion much needed for the facility to survive

This hotel was decently priced with a pool , ice machine , laundry room and gym The breakfast menu was decent! The staff was polite and accommodating I will say the rooms had an odd smell to them and you have to order room service beforehand

We requested extra towels and our room to be cleaned and no one showed up but the front office people were able to hand us our towels and also mentioned the pool closed at 10 instead of 8pm I did not have any problems or a rude experience at this hotel! It also has an HEB where you can buy snacks and refill gas just across it!

Sydney Wheat

The room was spacious and seemed cool but upon further inspection we found dirty diapers in the trash can, right next to the bed, that began to sink up the air Secondly, there was hair inside the shower and old towels that had been left on the ground My guess is the only thing anyone bothered doing was tucking the bed back in before our arrival

Rating my stay and this hotel a 2 because my friends and I decided to take a star away for each atrocity we had to push to the side or pick up that had been left behind

Being on a military post creates a bit of a captive clientele, with essentially guaranteed business One wonders if, with such a model, there is incentive to improve/innovate/work towards customer satisfaction, when compared to strictly civilian/off-post facilitiesNevertheless, most of the staff were fantastic

Most of the issues during my stay centered around ongoing renovations-no really changes just new carpet, some folks staying there were moved from fully functional rooms to “renovated” ones with broken furniture, non-functional AC units, and the likeThe noise and whatnot from the work crew can’t be held against the location, it’ll self-resolve in a few weeks The bigger issue I observed had to do with poor room ventilation, building water heater that was cranked up to 11, being woken up at like 4am by the trash service, and uncomfortable bedsThat said, it was not enough to make me look for alternative lodging, so perhaps just me being nit-picky

Michael is such a day of sunshine! He treats each and every guest with such hospitality, respect and kindnessHe made my stay on JBSA such a pleasurable experience He took time out of his busy schedule each night to ask me how my day was and make polite conversation!Thank you Michael and the rest of the IHG staff for a great experience

sonya charley

the man who works front desk is a bit rude, cuts you off before you can even get a sentence out, and hangs up abruptly without even allowing you to give a greeting or thank you to him this threw me off as all the other staff from the food servers to the housekeeping were outstanding I did get the name of one worker mrs Joyce as well as the young man ( he looks very young and I was shocked to know he was a grown man) cleans the rooms are exceptionally hospitable, professional, and courteous

they always ask if there’s anything that I needed, and cleaned the room very well in addition to ensuring towels, hotel toiletries and bedding were attended to promptly overall, my stay was comfortable the food servers are very friendly and ensure your breakfast needs are met

The stay was pretty comfortable here There is no problem with rooms, beds and amenities in the hotel The service at the breakfast was great

The staff providing and arranging breakfast was exceptionally good in taking care of guests needing what they needed Just that the breakfast items were less Waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage, breads, bagels, cereals, oat meals, fruits and juices, coffee are pretty much it Not much to complain about though Breakfast timings were 6-9 am on weekends but we saw a board with 6-10am but that wasn’t the case The whole facility was neat and cleanWe did get some foul smell in the bathrooms quite often that we didn’t like Also forget using the outdoor swimming pool, the surrounding smell is too bad and disgusting We couldn’t stay more than 10 mins at the pool Even at the parking lot it smelled too badExcept that it’s a great place to stay for a couple of days There is sonic, Burger King nearby if you want to stop for a quick bite

Cathy Caskey

Have stayed at this hotel many times before and never had any problems always pleasant This trip was definitely different First room I was given had not been cleaned at all

Was then given a second room and it was marked as clean but to say the least was not!! Toliet and sink was filthy The guy checking me in went to the room to check it out himself and was so apologetic He then cleaned the room himself I’m sure this is not in his job description but went above and beyond He was not only very professional looking he also has great customer service To bad we don’t have more people like him Kudos to this guy and give him a raise!!!

We were between two hotels in the area when planning our wedding, but we absolutely could not beat all the amenities that The Westin San Antonio North offered! Not to mention their ballroom is absolutely stunning! It was renovated in 2019 (and clearly didn’t get much use over the pandemic) so it’s practically brand new Ashley Wash was the best coordinator EVER! She was so communicative with us for the entire process and so helpful – all while managing the changing hotel ownership She provided contacts for vendors and coordinated with the vendors we brought in so well

She made us feel like family and made our reception so incredibly worry-free If I had to do it all over again (which I’m so glad I don’t), I would still have my wedding at The Westin SA North 🙂

This could be a really great hotel It has great views of the city and it is located right off of I-10 which is easy access to many parts of San Antonio However the hotel is very dated if you enjoy a popcorn ceiling this is a great hotel

The air conditioning filter was 2 months overdue from being changed and the room smelled like dust, you can see it coming through the vents For someone with allergies like myself it made it hard to sleep in this room I would not recommend anybody stay in this hotel until it has been renovated and brought into this decade

ji phan

Great hotel and great rooms Staff was friendly Upon check-in our party was told that it was free continental breakfast but when we came down the following morning they stated it was not free and that we would have to pay

We ended up going somewhere to eat It would have been nice if they told us that when we checked in and not when we were there trying to get breakfast

I share this experience as it will be useful to improve, since the hotel has many possibilities to receive 5 stars but most importantly they need to return to attention to detail and cleanliness, We are still battling with the Covid-19 pandemic and Cleanliness is paramountThe rooms were noted to be poorly cleaned with stains and dust on furniture, dirty hallway areasBathrooms need remodeling

On the other hand, I wanted to highlight that the breakfast service is excellent A+, it is observed that they prepare it with love and the breakfast area looks clean and organized and has a good presentation of the food The exterior and lobby look presentable The staff very attentive and diligent It was sad that when I got to the room I did not feel comfortable because the environment had little hygiene and cleanlinesshoped that they could improve in these aspects because the hotel is in a well-located place and has good facilities

John H

My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights while we were in town for a funeral My overall impression was goodThe facility itself shows some wear and tear, but has been kept up pretty well

The room was clean and relatively comfortable, the staff was friendly and helpfulThis isn’t a resort hotel It’s fairly basic, but for all that I was very satisfied with my stayThe ONLY real complaint I had was that the elevators were very, very SLOW But that’s not all that big a dealI’d definitely stay here again

A P

If I can give this hotel a ZERO star I would What a terrible experience my family and I had with this hotel Our room smells funky

The Hallway we’re narrow and tight when the cleaning crew doing their job it’s hard to pass by The elevator looks like they were working outside but they don’t finish The big disappointment about this hotel is, there is no water on our 3rd day stay and the staff can’t tell us when the water will come back so we have to move out and find a different hotel The front desk told us that there is a busted pipe across the street but we don’t think so because the Marriott across the street still has water, I think this location of Holiday Inn Express has poor management The only good thing about this hotel is the staff was friendly The Palm tree by the pool is infested with ants, when my husband went to tell the front desk they said they would look into it Never did And by the water fall laying on the rock ledge was a large bunch of some ladies hairnastyOnly when the maintenance guy came by and we mentioned it to him did he do something about it It was over 100 degrees but the water felt like 30 degrees

We had a shockingly amazing experience During a time where every business seems to be cutting “due to COVID,” this Drury does not disappoint! The room was extremely clean, free drinks and dinner every night was wonderful, free hot breakfast was delicious, and the staff were incredibly attentive It seemed like every time I looked they were cleaning

One very early morning (~4am) when I spent some time in the lobby, I was pleasantly surprised to see a security guard hanging out and patrolling the first floor It doesn’t seem like a bad area but any city has crime The outdoor free parking is also gated and requires a room key to enter We will definitely stay here again for future San Antonio visits!

Destiny Acosta

Stayed here for a little vacation in San Antonio I have three kids and I felt the hotel was very family friendly They have play pens or rollaway cribs for infants that is super nice and convenient! The hotel is clean and secure

They have great amenities The staff is all super nice and will greet you anytime they see you with a smile and good attitude We used the pool every single night that we stayed and loved it The breakfast is better than most hotels Would definitely recommend this hotel!

John Q. Adams

I stayed here for a couple of weeks It’s a chain There’s plenty of parking

We stayed for 4 nights and had a mixed experience Upon arrival the receptionist was fairly rude We came for a wedding, and the parents of the groom paid for hotels for the entire wedding party

However during check in we were told that although they had taken the credit card info of the parents, and that they had authorized payment, they still wanted the physical card as well as an “authorization form” In truth it felt like we were being stereotyped in a negative light, and that the receptionist may not have done this to an older white couple, but had no problem doing it to a young dark skinned woman and her partner We spoke with the groom’s parents about this later and they said that they’ve never had a problem like this before when pre-paying for their friends and family It actually upset them enough that they may cancel their Hyatt membership In addition, the first night we checked in at 2am, and thus had no reason to have the cleaning staff come clean the room the following morning However, the remaining 3 nights we did not put the sign on our door (which asks the cleaning staff to come back later) and yet our room was completely untouched and uncleaned Aside from all that the room itself was more than adequate I especially appreciated the strong air conditioner

Zac Johnson

André and Cecilia were quite wonderfully accommodating to my best friend and me She had a surgery and they saw us walking slowly across the lobby and offered a wheel chair promptly They gave us complimentary water as well

Unfortunately I was too tired to ever make it to breakfast The male housekeeper that I kept seeing on the 1st floor was always busy, everything smelled good when he was finished and he used wet floor signs responsibly The room was clean Great experience! Book them if you’re having elective plastic surgery in the area and need somewhere to heal

Stayed one night and will never go near this hotel again Shocked they ever averaged out to four stars Disappointed, Hilton

Do betterRock hard beds I weigh under 140lbs and couldn’t sleep through the night due to the pain Husband is a bigger guy who likes firm beds and he said it was worse than when he slept on the ground in AfghanistanLobby: light fixtures held together with clear tape right above where you wait to check in They did not have any water so I didn’t get my Hilton rewards check in perks Staff Sunday was nice enough, but Monday morning was horrible The girl was cashing a worker’s check for ages while we were waiting to check out Didn’t even acknowledge our presence We wanted to give feedback on the awful room but gave up and did mobile checkoutRoom: beds are horrible, see above Carpet stained and dirty Paint is covered in marks, dirt, and huge chunks out of the drywall missing Linens seemed clean, pillows were okay Bathroom door did not lock The latch was completely broken and would not turn Shower drain was broken and the cover popped off when brushed My husband’s heel fell into the drain as he stepped back because the cover popped right off He almost cut himself! Rust on edges of most the bath fixtures No place for toiletries in the shower so have to sit them on the floorBreakfast: eggs, bread, sausage, waffles, 3 cereals, one kind of yogurt Dry and disappointing Nothing to write home about No flavored coffee creamer Only half and half No decaf coffeeWill never stay here again and will warn all coworkers and friends to a different hotel when coming to the area for business or pleasure

The places was nice , worth the money Location wasn’t as bad as people made it seem It is right off the highway so on a busy day you will hear all the cars but ir didn’t bother us since we were not there most of the time

While we were there we did not see any homeless near the hotel like a lot of the reviews said We did encounter some problems though, first one is we put up a sign for privacy but the room service still went in and changed out the towel’s which was nice but not needed as we had the sign up Second the lady at the front desk on 05/07/22 seemed rude We went to get breakfast , which all they had was outdated cereal and old fruits , we got there 10 minutes before breakfast closed and she basically kicked us out On top of that my sister asked her where the laundry room was at and she replied with “we don’t have a laundry room” Which is a lie because you can see the laundry room in the cameras In the lobby , we later found the paper in the room that told us where to locate the laundry room She did make anyone feel welcomed like the guy that checked us in did Last thing was on the last day we were there someone tried to break into our car good thing we parked it right in front of where we were staying because we were able to get up quickly , we do not think it was any homeless as we would of seen then running , we did see one of the hotel guests run into their car so we think it was a guest The security guard was nice and let us know he will be patrolling the area

This hotel is affordable, I paid $100 for a room with 2 queens, but you get what you pay for to say the least This place is right off I-35 and the rooms are not very well insulated from sound The windows don’t have curtains, and the BRIGHT LED lights outside your door will keep you up (I literally couldn’t tell if it was day or night)

And when we walked in our room, it was dirty and there was yellow static water sitting in the tub The staff was great and immediately changed our room, but then there was spit and a pube in our toilet Which was an easy fix, we can just flush it down However, this just don’t put much confidence into the cleanliness of the roomsThe room itself was nice, newly redone But I wouldn’t call this a hotel, it’s more of a motel, which is expected for the price

Modern up to date rooms with minor cosmetic flaws Very good security, and close to down town Overall a good value for the price!Positive: modern nice flooring, beautiful marble in the showers, and nice bright lighting in the rooms, good security, good price, and close to downtown

Negative: breakfast is very minimal, toast, cereal, coffee, juice Kinda loud from highway noise, so rooms are not sound proofed, could hear people talking outside Fan in bathroom was loose with plastic hanging down, and the door was difficult to shut as it was oldKeep in mind they are currently remodeling so you may see small things that were missed Ie: door, fan, drawer handle, etc

Hotel overall was nice and clean Our room was definitely in need of updating and remodeling The outlets ruined our phone charger, the bath tub had a large water stain in it, and overall you could tell the room was in need of repairs

The bed was comfortable, and it was great for over night on our road trip with our cats, but I wouldn’t stay here again if I was in the area

Giving this stay 2 stars and it’s really disappointing because we have really enjoyed most of our stays at La Quintas This one however is need of some attention The kitchen areas (we ended up staying in 2 rooms) were very worn and older

Our room was clean otherwise so we didn’t fret it was like no big deal we used our points for this stay The issue came during the evening when one of us walked into the restroom to several bugs (not sure what they were) crawling around on the floor and the more we looked around the more we seen as the lights were being turned on and for us this is a deal breaker!! We quickly moved our things to the car and called down to the lobby The staff was super friendly and apologetic and very quick to get us another room on a lot higher of a floor We still left our things in the car but at 1am moving rooms was the best option at that point We know these things happen and in warmer climates especially, we’re not unreasonable but there was so many we couldn’t have been the 1st complaint the room was clearly neglected and should not have been booked The photos are of the 1st room with the issue We will be attempting to get our points back and will definitely not be staying at this La Quinta in the future I would like to emphasize that this could have been a much worse situation if the staff wasn’t so willing and eager to try to make adjustments

The lobby was nice, the breakfast was descent but the room was dingy and dirty There were stains on the walls and the couch The restroom was dated and dingy

The ice machine had mold on it Overall the place just felt nasty and dated Even the exterior was dirty looking The staff were very kind, polite and helpful They’re basically the only plus side

I stayed here for almost a month for work It was a pretty nice hotel They had a pool for you to use so that was nice for the heat

Complimentary breakfast in the morning wasn’t bad either Cold breakfast items were available from 4am to 6am Hot breakfast items were available from 6am to 9am In the evening, they would have free alcoholic drinks if you were old enough I think the limit was 3 per day between 5pm and 7pm I don’t drink so I never attended They have a popcorn machine for a few hours to get popcorn from The drink machine with different sodas and water was available from about 5pm to 9pm The gym was small 3 cardio machines, a bench, and a rack of weights It also had a water canister and cups for you to use including towels and disinfectant wipes for use after you finished Rooms were good sized and the pillows and queen sized beds weren’t bad Each bed had 2 pillows that were softer and 2 that were more firm Microwave, mini fridge, iron, ironing board, closet with drawers inside, hangers, and a coffee maker I don’t drink coffee so I’m not sure how it is The thermostat in my room could be set to 68, but most of the time it never got below 72 or 73 The staff were very nice and helpful if anything was needed The cleaning personnel were great as well and did a good job It’s pretty centrally located so you have a ton of options for eating out and shopping They also have a shuttle that can take you anywhere in a one mile radius of the hotel Walls were thick so you couldn’t hear much The doors were thinner so you can hear people coming and going if they are talking when a door opens or shuts The bathroom was a little small, but I’ve been in houses with smaller ones so it was perfectly fine The shower also has dispensers for shampoo, conditioner, and body wash Overall, I would come here again

Highly satisfied by our decision of staying at Pear Tree You fall in love withbthe ambiance as soon as you enter the space Beautiful lobby area, a spacious dining area and aesthetically decorated sitting spaces on the ground floor are all mood lifters

I also liked the overall experience with the staff They were welcoming and friendly We stayed for two nights and did not use room service during the time The room was clean and crisp The bathroom space could be improved It was way too small That was my only issue Room amenities were great We had ample space in the room to keep our stuff and walk around We were in a two queen bed room Their was a coffee machine in the room but I did not use it It could have been cleaner The microwave and fridge were fine Beds were comfortable They served complimentary snacks in the evening which was a pleasent surprise My kids loved the quick refreshments as wr would get ready to go out for the evening Breakfast options were great The dining area was not congested which was great during covid times We felt safe and comfortable during our stay and that is ehat matters at the end Recommended !

Can’t explain how great San Antonio was from the area to my hotel to dining to all of it! This hotel was so much better then I expected it was big and clean! Everyone was friendly and helpful! Victor was probably one of the best valets I’ve encountered it was nice to see him each day of our stay Pleasant young man I would come back to this hotel great experience

The staff is pretty helpful and very friendly, lobby is beautiful and expansive The breakfast (buffet style) is very average I never noticed any unpleasant smells which is a rare for a hotel, so they manage that pretty well

The room was missing some important things specifically for me, for example that is tissues and more shower soap ect The bathroom door in the room I stayed at was very strange, it’s a double door that you open with two of your hands, it does not close properly and has a massive 1-inch gap, and unfortunately has no lock at allAlso the shower in the room I stayed at is very old and the shower head has low pressure to it, and the directions of the water jets are not straight so you have a pretty hard time doing your business in there The water barely goes down the drain at a very slow rate, so as you are showering you’re standing in a pool, and the pool grows exponentially

For the money this La Quinta is quite a gem Rooms were clean and slept well Everything was within easy walking distance

The breakfast was fantastic just make sure you get there early due to it filling up quickly My only gripe was that they charge you an extra $28 to park but from what I gathered that’s normal for hotels I this area

I was expecting a lot more after reading reviews…The first day we arrived I sanitized high traffic areas in our room (I have two littles who love to touch EVERYTHING) and looked everywhere Didn’t take long to doubt how good the cleaning was There was so much dust on the toilet seat and in between the toilet seat crack, there were small hairs in the sheets once I pulled them back, and before I knew it my daughters feet were black after walking on the carpet

My husband had bought some brand new white socks to wear with his outfit, and before we knew it, his socks were black at the bottom too BLACK I have never been in a hotel where we can’t even wear socks in rooms because they changed color like THAT It made me completely disgusted The lobby area is clean, but aside from that it’s a very very old hotel So the hallways are really dim, the elevator is squeaky and kind of beat up, and the rooms were also pretty out dated Furniture was rough, bed was hard, pillows sucked Didn’t try their breakfast because I couldn’t even imagine how clean they were if the hotel rooms looked like they didAside from that, staff was kind They weren’t the issueThey need to deep clean their bedroom carpets every once in a while & brighten the place up and fix all the cracksMoral of it all:don’t walk barefoot or with socks in the hotel room, clean and disinfect FOR YOURSELFPrice point – you get what you pay for, literallyDon’t recommend, and for sure won’t be back

This place was clean, quiet, not a single bug in sight, wifi was fast, and the water stayed hot for my entire 20 minute shower Met and exceeded my expectations The staff was friendly as well

The pricing is decent, $220 for a couple of nights Breakfast was also decent, nothing exceptional but I do appreciate the grab and go options for those of us who are still a little hesitant about buffets here in this plague year, and the coffee was good Overall would recommend!

Avoid Stay somewhere else This was one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in for the prices they charge

The entire hotel is in poor repair The elevators don’t light up properly, they make loud clunking noises going up and down, and the insides have obviously been abused The room I was in was pitiful The carpets were dirty and stained My bed had body hair and stains caked onto the mattress I ended up sleeping every night on the couch because of how uncomfortable the bed was, not to mention concerned of sanitation I had an ant infestation on my bathroom/bedroom sink swarming around tooth brushes and medications bottles I’m pretty sure room service was USING my bathroom while I was gone As a male with short hair, I kept finding long tufts of dark curly hair on my bathroom floor and in my shower that weren’t there when I left in the mornings The front desk was very short with guests and started restricting their two free water bottles to one water bottle per day Overall it was just a bad experience I feel like I need to bleach myself after being in that room for a week
