Sometimes it’s hard to find a good hotel where you can just relax, lying on a sun lounger by the pool, drinking a good Mojito, especially on a hot day Lemon Tree inn managed to surprise me, it’s an amazing place for the price, especially when comparing alternatives in Santa Barbara 20 minutes walk and you are already in the city center with a huge number of cool establishments, the restaurant in the hotel itself is also worth noting, it is really good, it reminds of the vintage atmosphere of the 90s, but what delicious food, it is even tastier with a 10% discount for guests

From controversial points, it is difficult to contact the staff, but given the busy days, it is quite difficult for them to answer everyone, but they try However, if you want to have a good time, this hotel is for you

Patty Hlinka

Front desk staff was amazing, personable and professional They worked very hard to honor my specific requests for where I wanted my room located That was so appreciated

From desk staff, waiters, gardeners, housekeeping and maintenance you cannot ask for better service and friendliness I have been staying at Lemon Tree when I come to SB from northern CA for over 25 years, it is like coming home There are great restaraunts all around and a new Starbucks about 1 1/2 blocks up from LemonTree on State that is awesome You can’t go wrong with Daily Grind and their heavenly scones Can’t wait for next trip to SB and Lemon Tree

We stayed here one night and were very satisfied The location is close to everything we wanted to be near The Funk Zone, waterfront, and downtown are all easy walking distance

The rooms are small, as others mentioned, but we’ll laid out and comfortable We enjoyed the king room with a patio Luis, the general manager, and his staff were friendly and helpful Others have mentioned that noise was an issue here since its near train station and bars and restaurants We did not hear any noise at all Definitely recommend this hotel

Alistair Bane

I liked the decor of this hotel It is very modern and attractive The bed was extremely comfortable

I have seen some people complain about the size of the roomsin their reviews to be fair, if you enjoy practicing elaborate ballroom dance routines in your hotel rooms while vacationing, it may be too small for you If you plan on sleeping, watching TV, and taking a shower, it’s all good There are nice sitting spots in the common areas as well There is ample drawer and hanger space for clothing, which is niceThere is an excellent restaurant attached It’s an easy walk to the beach and pier, as well as lots of shopping and restaurantsThe staff was very helpful and friendly I would definitely book again in the future!

H Janda

Stayed in SB for 2 nights with my wife in April 2022 This hotel was quaint and perfect for us Great location, convenient valet parking next door, very friendly staff, clean and quaint rooms

The Mexican restaurant next door was fantastic, plus if you don’t want to leave your room, they can deliver you food / beverages!Special shout out to the general manager, Luis, as he was very helpful and professional We were thankful / grateful to Luis for resolving a minor issue we had with our checkout bill He took care of us very well We will definitely be staying here again, the next time we are in SB I would recommend this hotel to anyone, you will not be disappointed

Let’s start with the good: 1) the location and grounds are beautiful 2) excellent valet and customer serviceNow to the bad

we stayed this past weekend for a wedding We were so excited because of the location in SB and the photos We had to move rooms 3 times The first room the AC didn’t work and they promptly moved us to another room The second room smelled terribly of mold and was small and not at all what we were promised We tried to stay since we didn’t want to move again We tried to go to sleep hoping the smell of mold and mildew but ultimately had to move again The third room was great They gave us a discount but overall pretty disappointed in having to move multiple times and that didn’t seem out of the ordinary for this requests from the guestsOverall, the location and hotel employees were great but unfortunately didn’t match the amount of money we paid to stay

Giorgio V

Location is great for this hotel for restaurants and the pier The staff is very friendly The bath rooms looked funky and updated

There is no elevator for certain rooms The air conditioning is very loud so I suggest if it’s a cool night open the windows The two pools are great and every night they have fire pits all over to sit down and relax The rooms were clean, the bed was okay but not amazing

Robert George

Nice option right across from the beach and really close to the pier The room was smallish for four but was fine for two nights The pool was well used and clean

The staff was very friendly and answered a number of questions about eating locations The valet parking worked perfectly The fire pits are placed throughout the property so there are plenty of options for cozy, evening relaxing

Location and employees were great! The hotel was nice Rooms were pretty small as well as bathrooms I was happy there was a mini fridge to keep our drinks cool

Cons: no microwave, small room, small bed (cozy queen = full), small bathroom, small TV Overall we really liked our stay We stayed 1 night for our wedding We were able to get early check in and help with our bags Employees were helpful, friendly and attentive It’s valet parking for $25/ day It was convenient as parking in this area is difficult Walking distance to Starbucks, restaurants, cafes and shops! Definitely would stay again

Patrick Choe

Location is great Right at the heart of downtown SB, a walking distance away from Amtrak stationRooms were okay, TV sometimes lagged or showed statics

Service was okay, but room service was bad I ordered steak breakfast, but there wasn’t any forks, knifes or spoons Had to dig up disposable fork from trashcan I got elsewhere to eatAnd the menu had (prices may vary) warning, but actually costed 50% more than the listed price That isn’t simple variation; it’s nearly a scam Vending machine of any kind seems to be out of orderOverall, great location, but eat your meal elsewhere Get your snacks and drinks elsewhere I imagine any convenience store would serve you better

Jeremy Rice

Magical elevator takes you to cozy, clean and quiet rooms with comfortable beds, all expected facilities, and quality fixtures Our corner room looked onto Cota and State streets through the leafy shade of jacaranda trees Service from valet to check-in to housekeeping was welcoming, friendly and responsive to all our requests

A charming and convenient hotel, in keeping with Santa Barbara’s classy, small town atmosphere

We had a good time in this place Clean Confortable

Good breakfast Dominique is really good host, she is very attentive In my point of view there are little details that need to be attended to be a five : the blinds do not cover well the windows, so you will have a lot of light There are a lot of things in the rooms, so you do not have much space There are ants, so you need to be careful with food And something that was not in her control was that neighbors were repairing things so there are a lot of noise in the mornings The hotel is pet friendly that it is a plus for us

Mrs Pops

Unfortunately, I had to arrive late I called in advance like my instructions told me too The cottages reminded me of a cottage I use to live in when I lived in Lake Tahoe

The rooms and outdoors pathways reminded me of my mom, who passed away in Feb The flower bedspread and table clothes to the brick curvy pathways I was delivered Breakfast to my room I told them the night before a later time for breakfast But while having dinner with my siblings, they wanted to be on the road at the time I suggested breakfast The cook did not have any problems making breakfast an hour earlier for me It is a really relaxing place I enjoyed the short time I stayed I needed the peace of mind It has been a tough year for me, and I left feeling a lot calmer than I did when I left LAX

missy marie

such a quaint, romantic, and cozy place the owner, dominique is as inviting and lovely as the space she has made the complimentary breakfast was a delicious quiche

i was able to communicate my vegetarian dietary preference and still had a filling meal the hotel cat, peanut is friendly and naps all over the property would definitely like to return here one day soon

I stayed here for one night on my way to Big Sur I was in a pinch to find a place short notice and La Quinta ended up being one of the few options The outside of the building is cute and fits nicely into the area

The inside of my room was a different story The room was old and dingy The furniture was torn, stained, and generally in poor condition I could have let all of this slide since I needed a room short notice, but this facility price gouges on the the weekends and I paid over $400 for one night when it’s normally $150 If you find yourself in this situation just spend a bit more and stay somewhere nicer It’s frustrating, but not as frustrating as paying $400/night and staying in a room which was borderline odious The one upside is the central location hence the one star

Manny

Hey guys,I chose this place strictly on location A meeting I was in Santa Barbara for was right across the street The team there is super friendly and helpful

The entrance to the hotel is nice and there is some cool landscaping Haven’t been there before so not sure if they’re expanding the property or renovating but there is currently some big construction project underway It didn’t interfere with my sleep though I paid a little over $900 for a 3 night stay and for that price I did expect better accommodations The room was outdated and dark Hopefully this part of the hotel is next on the ongoing project

My recently redecorated room had a broken shower The room was nice, but way smaller than the room I expected When I booked the dog friendly room, it was quoted a $25 dog fee

When I arrived to check in, they charged $140 for the dog feeThe booking service I used apologized for the hotel (motel?), because the staff did not seem to care at all Blue sands did not apologize I was the enemy to them, not a guest Do not go here

Shan Huang

I recently stayed at Blue Sands Inn for one night They advertise the hotel to be 4 stars It is NOT TRUE

It is a motel like several other reviewers described It is a small hotel which doesn’t have any staff after 10PM You have to check in before 10PM There is only 6-7 parking space You have to park on the street if you check-in or come back to your room in the evening It is hidden behind another regular size hotel, so it feels like you are subleasing someone’s cheap apartment The room is small, but it has been remodeled(relatively on a cheap side) The toilet is old style round type If you are used to modern oval style comfort height toilet, good luck to you at this place The room we got has broken bathroom window frame The glass is fine but the frame cannot be pushed up to be opened and window screen has a big hole on itIf they priced it as a motel rate and advertised it honestly, I wouldn’t complain too much However, at $400-500 weekend rate, it is just pure greed I would’t recommend anyone to this place

T Lasso

First of all, this is a motel, not a 4 star hotel as advertised There is only about 13 or so parking spots in an extremely narrow lot When we got back at night there were no spots so we had to park down the street on the side of road

Upon entering the room, my first reaction was to the overwhelming smell of bleach that was attempting to cover the smell of dog It’s pet friendly if that’s what your looking for, but I found it to be repugnant at first Got used to it after a while There is no sound insulation It sounded like there was a stampede of cattle upstairs We were on the first floor Location is good, but we paid $550 for one night in a glorified red roof inn There are way better hotels in Santa Barbara I travel there about 3 times a month and I have stayed in about 8 different hotels there This is bottom of the list by far

This is a very cute inn in a village-like community The room was big enough for my sister and I Bed was comfortable, something I can’t say about other places I’ve stayed in

Yes, the restroom is very small, toilet is low and shower head and faucets could be newer, bigger Having ventilation in restroom would also be a suggestion To me it was not a big deal, but could make a stay better than it was I was in Santa Barbara to visit and explore the city not hang out in restroom They offer coffee, tea 24/7 The customer service was also 100% perfect Would be nice if coffee pot and small microwave was offered in these rooms It does get very expensive having to go out every time you want to eat something warm The Coast Village in is in the middle of restaurant, shopping and if you’re in for a good walk, Downtown Santa Barbara, beaches, Old Mission and countless vinearies

Christine Gutai

Front office staff awesome! Nitalia the Manager was extremely helpful when I walked in from a 7 hour drive very tired The Queen room is super comfortable for single person If I was a couple I would prefer a King

The room was super ++ clean The bed very comfortable with nice linens The flat screen TV was good for size room The refrigerator was handy to have I loved being able to open the windows for fresh air Great location to resturants, beach, groceries and shops This is my new favorite place Parking was no problem Thank you so much, I will be back!

We stayed 3 nights at this Ramada and were very pleased ALL of the staff were so friendly and helpful, every single person we encountered The room was clean and the bed was comfortable

We had a view of the lagoon which had multiple birds, turtles, and fish The pool and hot tub were clean, warm, and well kept They do offer a grab and go breakfast (we did not use) and have a freezer with some things you can purchase Our rental car plans changed and they were able to send a (free) taxi to get us at the airport within 10 minutes, and they arranged to have a taxi pick us up at the hotel and take us back to the airport when we left (free) If you stay here you will need a car or transportation plan, it is not within walking distance of anything other than a gas station and Ihop for the most part We used Uber had had good experiences with that For the price we paid (they were offering a stay 2 nights get 1 night free deal when we went) I was very pleased

megan lopez

If you like to sleep in past 8am this is not the place to stay Every time I stay here I get woken up at 8am consistently with the maids talking/laughing outside the room doors quit loudly The whole place echoes and the walls are paper thin so you can hear everything your neighbor does (I listened to my neighbor talk on the speaker phone for 3 hours from 6-9am and I could hear everything coming from the phone

) They are also doing construction and start working with Loud tools at 8 am as well No consideration for morning sleep here They have Comfortable beds, and cute patios, and they just started doing normal breakfast again so there is a plus

This is a nice hotel I went here and was satisfied with my experience I booked this hotel online and checked into it

This hotel has the doors of their rooms on the outside, so you have to walk around the hotel to get to your room However, the hotel’s parking lot stretches around the hotel, so you can park right in front of your room The room I stayed in had two beds and a bathroom with a pretty large shower, but much to my surprise, the room also had a kitchen and dining table with four chairs, which was pretty nice The interior of the room was pretty dated, but other than that it was nice This hotel has a restaurant as well with some pretty good food I gave this hotel five stars because it has nice, big rooms and a restaurant as well

Bobbi Karpinski

Outstanding service by Gabriel who not only checked in all 8 of us on our Gal Pal trip from San Diego April 10-14, 2022, he calculated what each of us should pay individually, which was a complicated procedure Later that evening, he helped us find a missing credit card At all times he was very calm, professional and listened very well

He has excellent listening skills and is very personable He was our hero!

Hotel is nice, but housekeeping and front desk are hopeless Do not expect any sort of housekeeping or maintenance They state their lack of housekeeping is due to COVID measures, meanwhile none of their employees were wearing masks, so it’s quite clear that this is a cost-saving excuse

However, they say they will come by to do housekeeping and give you new towels if you request itthis is a pretty big stretch of the truthDuring our stay, the toilet wouldn’t flush We called the front desk and asked them to fix it while we were out for the day They said they would Nothing happened We then called again and someone finally fixed it The maintenance person very strangely didn’t seem to have a key to our room, which I found very oddThe next day, we asked for towels while we were out Again nothing happened Our pile of towels was left in the room and we were granted no clean towels We called again Their solution to the problem was to leave a bag of towels for us on our doorknob for us to set up AND they gave us the wrong amount of towelsIt seems like the staff categorically don’t have the ability to access rooms, which is the weirdest thing I’ve ever heard of for a hotel I wouldn’t stay here again

We called the Marina Beach Motel last second and they were able to accommodate us with their last room We can’t say enough about how great the staff were and how convenient this motel is The room was great, fresh baked pastries from a local bakery every morning, and amazing location to everything Santa Barbara has to offer

Highly recommend!

Atomic Wienerdog

My family stays here every year We get two rooms and they are always clean and comfortable The hotel is walking distance to the pier, shops and restaurants, plus the staff is outstanding

John at the check in desk is incredibly friendly and helpful (he puts a big smile on our faces) Prices are fair for Santa Barbara and I would highly recommend this location

DanDan Revolution

I was hesitant booking a motel, but that’s the norm in that part of Santa Barbara The room was pristine, and well-updated Check-in/out was a breeze

They had bikes to borrow for the day, and the breakfast provided was better than most hotel offerings Most importantly, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful with suggestions Anything you would want to do in SB was walking distance (funk zone or wharf) or bike distance (Butterfly Beach or SB Zoo)

This weekend my friend and I stayed at the Motel 6 for the first time EVER in our lives While we still thought it was high priced for what we got, the room was clean (yet very small especially for 2 people) What we were impressed with most was the staff

They were super friendly and informative and helpful Debbie (and I really hope that is her name but the morning front desk woman who knits) was absolutely wonderful and we are very grateful for her and her service Other positives are it’s in a great area with good food, there’s a7-11 across the street along with a dispensary so we were happy Thank you Motel 6!!

Classy, clean, updated but with a totally retro feel, this motel was established in 1962 and they have all their decor done up appropriately Most of the motels in this chain have gone through extensive renovations in recent years, and they are almost invariably the cheapest I pretty much always look for them whenever I travel! (I do wish their pools were heated, however

Much of the year, even in Southern California, it’s too cold to swim without that)

Debra Jennings

The location is really good and close to the beach The room is very tiny but clean and newly renovated it appeared But, the owner is so selfish with giving the bare minimums to their clientele that it was very irritating

For example, we needed more than just two bath towels and one set of shampoo/conditioner but they were very rude when we asked for more towels NO Kleenexes, Coffee maker or coffee, microwave or a bottle of water given in the room We didn’t mind having it all so basic but we did mind the rude behavior when we asked for a few more towelsLastly, there is NO elevator, and the motel does NOT offer any handicap rooms They forced my 86 year old parents to walk up a flight of stairs to reach their room the entire stay However, they did tell us for an extra surcharge of $100 a night, they could put my parents on the ground level It was all so ridiculous and insensitiveHope this helps

This campground was extremely nice It was pretty small, but it had everything needed The bathrooms were in top shape and I loved the set up of them

Also the best part about the bathrooms is their water was HOT! The staff was super friendly It was only about a 5 minute drive to the beach parking which we opted to drive, and close to downtown Santa Barbara It was a quiet, lovely camp spot I definitely recommend this park

Califun

We stayed here for about 2 weeks on our travels through California This is a small city park close to all that Santa Barbara has to offer This park is well maintained, and the staff is very pleasant and accommodating

It is literally right off the 101 which makes on and off simple There is obviously road noise, but road noise doesn’t bother us As with most California RV parks, you should be diligent about securing your bikes The staff has hefty locks for you to use if you need them Will stay here again when in the area

Christie Johnson

Sunrise is great at what it is: a convenient, clean, friendly park on the path between places Minutes from downtown SB, Sunrise is on the freeway (self explanatory pros and cons), narrow parcel, but well organized The manager makes all the difference! Greeted us

Guided our back in as the turns are tight to back in, helped with oncoming traffic, and provided walking directions to the convenience store and Uber pick up back to downtown with $10 fare I was concerned about crime as I drove off the freeway, but once inside the park my concerns left (I am not leaving bikes outside, but don’t anywhere) Happy Traveling!

I think retro describes the overall vibe but for our family of three this place is great! We stayed in the king suite which has a well appointed kitchen, massive living area for my toddler to run about, and a tub/shower for him as well Pool is small and clean and every other resident I’ve met is friendly Pool also has pool noodles for use! Front desk staff have been courteous even during the busy 4pm check in time! Paying for parking is a pretty good deal since it is otherwise packed and most things (including beach, playgrounds, zoo, park, restaurants) are walking distance

We would love to stay here again!

Carlos Guijarro

Poorly staffed, rude customer service, the guy at the front desk was condescending and tried to justify overcharging me $30 for a car that was parked overnight The rooms were small not accessible for disabled guests and there was no AC in the rooms The included breakfast is microwaveable and not worth the price point of the place

I would not recommend staying here Instead of being wrongly surcharged, invest that money into a quality stay where you won’t have to go through this I ended up switching over to Mason’s Beach Inn, now that was worth it

Jess H

Stayed here for two nights It’s is in a fantastic location 5 min walk to the beach and 5 min walk to the zoo

Food and stores less than 10 minutes away Really good spot Parking is on the street (which seemed safe) or is $15 a night in their small lot The hotel is as others have said, a bit old and run down but still clean The room was a good size but there is no AC so you have to keep the windows open and fans on Since it summer the room was pretty warm until late into the evening You could also hear all of your neighbors but I was lucky and my neighbors were quiet after 10pm Be aware that there are a lot of stairs which adds to the cute retro look, but hard if you can’t do stairs I could not bring my parents to this hotel Overall it is a good clean retro hotel I would stay again

Absolutely the most charming seaside adjacent inn The location is a short walk from everywhere you want to be The rooms are large and have a kitchen and all open to a lovely garden courtyard that was ideal for a breakfast/ coffee in the morning or an evening of relaxing in the beautiful and peaceful surroundings

The doors are all pink Dutch doors The rooms are clean and they provide everything you could possibly need to make your stay comfortable Would definitely love to come back here!

We loved staying at the Beach House Inn! It was the perfect sized room on a beautifully landscaped property with wonderful, friendly staff and a very helpful and caring owner The location is spectacular with a park, the beach, the pier, and neighborhood gardens nearby We had such a nice time

It was clean, spacious, and allowed us to bring our little dog We can’t wait to return Thank you for your personal touches!

Morgan Quinn

We had a fantastic stay at The Beach House Inn over the holiday week The location is in a quiet residential area that’s close to the beach and State Street The grounds were beautiful and the accommodations were just right for a casual, but comfortable stay

I felt like I was staying at my parent’s house, but with way more privacy! We also love that the Inn is dog-friendly Our dog loved snoozing in front of the fireplace at night and we enjoyed walking her through the neighborhood and looking at all the beautiful houses We will absolutely stay here again and bring our kids Thank you so much for a wonderful week!

This place is nice The beds are comfortable but slightly high The rooms were clean which is obviously a major plus

The rooftop area was my favorite part The pool is actually heated Bobby the front desk gentleman and both valet guys working on Sunday/Monday were very attentive I requested late checkout and they were very understanding of the situation and approved it Definitely staying here again Walking distance from pretty much anything you might need like restaurants

I stayed here after getting married at the courthouse It was beautiful! We rented the presidential suite which was amazing! We rented about 10 rooms and also the dining hall The restaurant worked with me to hand pick my menus and they even labeled the menus with our names

We got a little loud playing music and dancing so the staff made sure to close the slider doors instead of making us stopWhat a lovely hotel And they’re pet friendly! At least they were when I stayed here We will be back soon because it’s a great place walking distance to great shopping Recommend

Oscar Diosdado Murillo

I hope Hampton could do more customer service training for this location I checked in on June 2 in the evening around 9:20pm and that was the only one front desk staff worked professionally as friendly and helpful The breakfast team was also good

But breakfast was not so good I liked the hotel offered the complimentary coffee and tea in the lobby anytimeThe front desk staff on June 5 was rude and unfriendly when I checked out to request a paper receipt I stayed 3 nights and it was noisy in the room You can hear the sounds from the upstairs and children’s laughs from the hallway The sofa in the room had the stain and the slide door of the shower room cannot be closed completely The Sunday price was over 300 bucks It is not worth of it I lived in Hampton Inn in Union City, CA right after this stay, and the one was totally different experience from Santa Barbara

Miss Cedar

I had an overall good experience living out of this hotel for one month Nice gym, more than one treadmill and plenty of weights for multiple people to work out Hotel was busy when I stayed so it was difficult finding close parking and the rooms have thin walls – I could hear guy snoring next door

I loved having laundry rooms on each floor – very convenient Walking distance to multiple dining options and coffee shops

Spencer Brod

My experience at the Hampton Inn was not good When I got to the hotel, I was expecting it to be serviceable, and be average That was not the case

The lady at the front was very slow with requests, and took a while to get them done The rooms were bad They didn’t supply enough towels in the bathroom, and the beds were terrible My neck has been killing me for a day due to it This should serve as a wake up call for the hotel

We really enjoyed our stay here, the pool area and jacuzzi were great with plenty of chairs and loungers to relax in The rooms were clean, comfortable and had everything we neededWe hadn’t planned on using the grab and go breakfast but after our first day that was all we had for breakfast

There was a good range and the cakes in the fridge were really nice! Good coffee too and the kids loved the range of cereal and fresh milk in the fridgeThomas on front desk was great, breakfast and the coffee was ready nice and early, great when you’ve arrived from a completely different time zone!

The room was impeccable and the grounds were very well taken care of You can tell the staff at this hotel take great pride in where they work The bed was super comfortable and breakfast was good Coffee, oatmeal and other snacks Not to mention you can grab some waters for the day I highly recommend this hotel

Rosemarie Melkowits

I almost cancelled my reservation after reading some not so nice reviews but am sooooo glad I didn’t Is it older, yes, dated, yes as some reviews said but I can tell you the rooms were very clean the beds were extremely comfortable and the courtyard was just beautiful The pool and hot tub were perfect temperature

It was only 60 degrees during our visit and the kids were in the pool that’s how warm it was Breakfast was a grab and go type, yogurt, granola bars, wrapped banana bread and lemon cake, oatmeal, cold cereals, fruit also breakfast sandwiches that you could take back to your room to heat up The lobby coffee was probably one of the best I’ve had Joel at the desk was such a great help I can’t say enough nice things about him He somehow managed to place my daughters room close enough to ours so we could help with the kids, which made our trip even more enjoyable Victoria was also helpful All in all we had a great experience and I would highly recommend to anyone

I love this place The unit we stayed in was more like an old fashioned apartment with original windows and doors so expect a lot of quirks Our place was upstairs in a separate entrance with a full kitchen and as big as some apartments I have lived in

No shared walls except the downstairs I have dietary restrictions so it is best if I cook most of my own foods Comfortable enough for long stays, a block from the beach and short walking distance to State Street and many dining options

Michelle D

This was our favorite place to stay during our week-long vacation to California The plants around the hotel are tropical and beautiful, and the vibe is very laid-back, classy, and relaxing We enjoyed the close proximity to the beach and downtown, both of which were within walking distance

The staff at Casa Del Mar were helpful, friendly, and kind My husband and I enjoyed the cheese and wine in the evening, and our kids loved the breakfast and the courtyard We would definitely stay here again
