We have been to our spot three times in the last year We absolutely love it Pam has been an excellent host

If you need resort style living, this isn’t for you It’s quiet, private, and gorgeous The pool is perfect temperature, and the poolside tables with charcoal grills are perfect for a quiet Florida evening after spending the day at the beach Location is close to Nokomis beach and Venice I hope they’re there forever, because we love it that much

BEWARE!!!!!! My stay was “poor” because it didn’t even happen No one was available to check me in and the voicemail box was full for the number that was posted in the office to call I then received a text which led to a call to get my room number and entrance code without any verification of my identity

Definitely wasn’t feeling safe at that point Entered room to find it was disgustingly filthy, lightbulbs burned out, huge gap in the door where I watched a large lizard and a few bugs crawl in The bedspread appeared to have feces and blood stains on it The pillows smelled like sweaty body odor The toilet didn’t flush The walls were filthy The pool was roped off with caution tape and a sign was posted that Sarasota County had prohibited swimming in it The sign at the main entrance reads Nokomis Inn, yet on bookingcom the property was advertised as Sarasota Getaway Inn And that’s a much better name for it, really GET AWAY as far and as fast as you can before you enter this INN because they will ignore your calls and emails if you find it as deplorable as I did and choose not to stay and wish to be refunded!!!

Yes, That’s A Grub Worm.

♥️♥️ I found this gem last summer, 2021 due to my own homes plumbing problems and needed a place to stay for a week

uhhhh 9 weeks later, I legit had to force myself to check out! The staff couldn’t have been more accommodating and the location for outa towners is wonderful and walking, bike, scooter etc distance from Nokomis Beach, specialty shops, ice cream, restaurants, drum circle etc anything salt life + more all within mile radius And of course, few hundred feet away sits aWAWA Gas/Food Station which offers plethora of hot n cold food and drink24 7 365Upon entering my room, I instantly smelled april freshness and thats 1 of my 1st wonderful memories Each room was decorated beach life style, but had different color schemes and the whole layout of the propertyI couldn’t have drawn it up better had someone paid me zillion$$$ to do that! Cuz it’s a loop drive way, with pool in the middle, but along with pool and tile decking, lounge chairs, tables with umbrellas, sits sand galore with BBQ grills, palm and coconut trees galore, and a beautiful large tiki hut where I watched guest after guest enjoy their dinners, drinks and vacations! Hammocks galore too! And in the back of property, sits a few more units along with yet anothersandy palmy hammocks galore layout for kids to play in and adults to chillaz in!Simply amazing vibe henceI couldn’t check out! My daughter and her friends would come visit and stay there too and they all too loved it like I did I legit could type into next year all the wonderful things, people I met, my walks to beach with my pup and so much more! Pam, Marlon, Gary and the 2 Tommysare forever etched into my world-o-nostalgia now! 💜😘

We really liked this hotel, it was very clean and the staff were all very friendly and accommodating to all of our needs There wasn’t room service while we were there they are short on help right now, so that was kind of a bummer if we needed towels or anything we had to go to the front desk and the ask for themThe breakfast was really good

Every morning there was a huge selection of items to choose from Bacon or sausage, eggs, biscuits and gravy Pancakes or waffles that you made yourself (the pancakes were very good) they had a selection of juices, oatmeal, grits, cold cereals, bagels, English muffins, toast, yogurt, fruit cups, coffee, hot chocolate, tea and many other things I’m probably forgetting It was goodSometime in the afternoon/evening they make these cookies and set them out on the front desk They are really yummy! Don’t miss out on those 😊Overall this hotel was really nice and we would definitely come back and stay again!

We stay here Memorial day weekend and the front desk hostess Dana was very friendly and helpful There was miscommunication with our room accommodation but we finally got it situated Our room was newly remodeled and beautiful! The beds are comfy, which is such a plus because many hotel beds cannot compare to our own bed at home

My only concern with the room was the water pressure, which was very weak Other than that, our room was clean and wonderful The rooms are very spacious and the pool area was very nice The pool is more “adult friendly” because it goes from 4ft-8ft, which my toddler could not enjoy much We did try to go to the breakfast/brunch restaurant After seating us, it took about 20+ minutes to take our order, and then after waiting another 20+ minutes, we informed our waitress we had to go, and she said we could because the cook hadn’t even started our food yet So we left hungry It was a good stay though

Leona Moore

Did not find any issues Very contemporary decor, very cool Beds were great and shower was hot!2 minor things, be nice to have microwave IN the room not lobby

Also, be nice to have a sign on the back side of building pointing the way to the restaurant without having to walk in the building and going back outside for the restaurant!

Kristen Girard

I don’t understand the good reviews about this place but maybe because it’s our first time here The room immediately smelt like something died in it or a neighboring room and when we called to complain they said they can’t do anything This is not good service

They said all they can do is give us air freshener which is like a slap in the face If it smells like death, there are bigger issues!! Do they not watch true crime? The room is a decent size, bed is comfortable No plug ins on both sides of the bedWe don’t have pets with us this trip but they do have pet friendly rooms for the ones wonderingThe vanity in the bathroom was dirty, rusty towel holder and soap all over the floor in the shower Shower handle doesn’t have hot or cold labels so you’re on your ownI haven’t seen the rest of the hotel, (pool etc) but this is my experience! I hope no one died in the bathroom and the smell is still there 🙄😔

This was our first time staying at Venice Beach Villas and we will definitely return We stayed in unit #6, which was the perfect size for the two of us and very clean The bed was comfortable and the unit stayed nice and cool with the air conditioner, which felt great after spending all day at the beach

It was well stocked with everything we needed, which was nice The welcome binder had all the information you needed, from restaurant listings along with menus to shopping The was great compared to some places we’ve stayed The beach is a short walk as well as downtown The only thing we regret, was having to leave Thank you Venice Beach Villas for a comfortable stay, hope to see you again soon!

Eli McClellan

First time visiting Venice despite being a Florida native, and shame on me for that because I’ve heard how great it is, and it is 100% as good as advertised!!Our villa here was essentially a 1 bedroom apartment, which I loved!! The facility is a bit dated, but all things considered, I did not mind one bit! So, if you are of higher tastes such as caviar and Marriott penthouses, then maybe stick with that If you like quiet, charming, great location, good pricing and having a place that isn’t a sardine can, then this place will please you!If I had any complains, it’s that check out is at 10am, but not the end of the world They are private owned and need the extra hour to get their rooms ready, so completely understand

The pool is heated, which is great for winter, but when it’s 100 degrees in June, probably could save a few bucks in electricity costs by turning the heater off unless they already did and it’s just that hot!! After all, it is south Florida in the summerOverall, very pleased with my visit there and will be planning another visit very soon!

Lacy

Kids loved the pool Quick walk to downtown shops and dining So many things were provided for beach/pool

Coolers, umbrellas, shark teeth sifters Parking lot is small, but there is plenty of free parking on the street for large vehicles There is a park across the street We look forward to coming back, and maybe getting family friends to come at the same time Great place for a get away!

We had a great stay The price, amenities, free breakfast and decent rooms made for a comfortable stay Thank you to Caroline who works front desk ! she was very kind and answered any questions we had, our room key had stopped working and she with no problem replaced it for a new one

We enjoyed the pool and hot tub, its in a great area right across from local stores and restaurants and most important its only a few minutes from siesta key beach! We will definitely be back 😊

Uyen Dang

The room doesn’t look fancy but decent enough with the price, cheapest we could find with close range to the beach and have good reviews Our room is very clean and it takes about 8 min for us to drive to the beach The breakfast is free and includes normal dishes like egg and sausage, however tastes excellent comparing to all the breakfast we’ve ever had at other hotels

Hotel doesn’t allow you to take their towels to the beach though so bring your own towels!

Jeffrey Martinez

We decided to go to the beach over the weekend to relax, and we chose Siesta Key The hotel was spotless, and the staff was friendly We were greeted when we arrived, and the gentleman at the front desk (from St

Cloud, MN) forgot his name I believe Joshua that I may be mistaken He was very helpful in mapping out our next day’s itinerary, showing us how to get around and the best places to visit This was extremely helpful to us because we were new to the area and needed to visit the same places I was relieved that the hotel was clean and did not have that moldy odorI didn’t feel stuffy at all when I woke up The breakfast included in the morning was delicious, especially the pancake maker, which was my personal favorite Every time, they are fresh and properly cooked They also had eggs, bagels, coffee, drinks, and so on The hotel is in a great location and close to Geko grill and bar, which is fantastic if you arrive late and can order Togo and walk there The pizza there is fantastic!! Furthermore, the pool was warm and clean, and there is an outside area called Sand Dollar I liked how the accidental room charge of $30 per night when staying there could be used to pay for drinks at the Sand Dollar Highly recommend this hotel

My husband and I needed a place to stay for the night, we had some trouble trying to book the room and one of the staff members who was helping us, Anthony, gave us a complimentary upgrade to a suite for all the trouble! The room was very clean and neat, the beds were very comfortable Great location as well, just a few minutes from the beach & lots of restaurants and stores near by! Not bad for the price either! 10/10 !!

RES RES

We needed a hotel in the area for one night, and this was the cheapest with decent reviews that we could find It was FAR from cheap, however March means crazy high prices

The staff was welcoming, the room was ok but showed it’s age, the beds were comfortable, and the breakfast was decent but didn’t have nearly enough seating We would stay again if we needed a hotel in the area and prices were more affordable, but I wouldn’t seek it out specifically

M Orton

Everything was great until the third day On the second day we elected not to have made service and only requested towels By the third day our floor needed to be cleaned and I personally asked the maid to make sure our room was serviced

We left for a few hours so that could be done and when we returned the staff and gone home and our room was not clean My wife went up to the front desk to see if we could have a room cleaned and she was informed that the front desk person was the only one here and we couldn’t have that done I’m 63 with a bad back but I went ahead and made the beds picked up all the towels took out the trash I think the biggest problem is that none of the maids speak English since I don’t speak Spanish there’s a big disconnect Everyone was really friendly except the girl at the front desk on the third day she was rude and I won’t be coming back here again

Clean, Convenient, ComfortableThe king room came well equipped and the bed was comfortable The kitchen area had everything we need for a comfortable stay

The shower is very spacious and there was a hairdryer in the bathroomThe free breakfast was impressive, not just because of the quantity of choices, but the quality Ken, the cook/attendant, is a true asset to the company He seems to enjoy his job and makes everyone feel welcome and special His scrambled eggs are light fluffy and moist (Very unusual for a hotel buffet)The entire staff is exceptional and welcoming The entire facility has a very welcoming, easy going feeling (but not lazy) which I can only assume is cultivated and encouraged by good managementThank you for a wonderful week

Ninno DePatrick

Great location to anything you may need during your get-away The room was fabulous and the hospitality was a real treat The two people who were exceptional were Sandra Murdock (thank you being professional and personable) and a fellow named Kenn (excellent conversation)

Both were very nice, and kept the art of conversation alive I will certainly stay there againThe only reason if gave 4/5 is because there really needs to be something done about the sprinklers The mineral deposits on my car as a result of the sprinklers was the worst I’ve ever encountered They covered the entire car and I’ll now have to get the spots buffed out – washing the car is not enough And my car was certainly not the only one

Claudio Falbo

My wife and I stayed here for a couple of days…and we would have stayed longer if we could have! This was one of the best hotels we have stayed at and it is all due to the service! Donatella AJ, Nikki, Sandra, Violet always greeted us with a smile, and went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed The housekeeping staff had everything cleaned 10 on 10, and the Chef made breakfast time unforgettable with his amazing banana bread! Thank you all for your excellent service We will definitely come back and definitely refer you! You are all truly the definition of fantastic hospitality! From: Claudio and Lidia FalboStay: February 22nd-26th

Beautiful location I stayed for one night and that was enough My room was below another room that had no insulation between floors

It sounded like a herd of baby elephants stomping around above my headSince a family was above me this went on periodically all night long and I got no sleep The floors popped and crackled under moderate weight Just not made for real people to live hereThe noise became unbearable at 6am and I had to get up I went to take a shower The head of the shower was pointed towards the wall I tried to move it so I could get under the water and the shower head came off and wouldn’t go back on So no shower I think this hotel should be great but it’s not worth staying here unless you are upstairsI went on a two week trip and Suntan Terrace was by far the worst overnight experience in a motel “resort”Oh, and the kitchen lights blinked on and off when turned on I looked around for ten minutes and could not find a switch to turn them off, so I was treated to flickering blinking lights in three quarters of the little one bedroom apartment It felt like a comedy/horror film staying hereThe refrigerator was also the loudest one I’ve ever heard Its motor sounded like the grinding noise of a blender

The location is great, wonderful stretch of beach for walking Restaurants near by We had unit 14, which was described as a two bedroom unit sleeping four

The second bedroom was a small walk through to the bathroom, with a single bed Not sure where the 4th person would sleep After a discussion with management about how it is listed, we were given a discount Washer/dryer in unit Couch could use replacement Staff very responsive to my concerns and suggestions

Iona Macphie

This place was discusting and use false advertisement of clean rooms to gain customers The sheets weren’t changed or clean there was a dirty Aircon unit next to one of our pillows and a dirty vent next to the other

There was zero staff on site to help us and we tried calling and texting with no response I have had nose and throat surgery and breathing difficulties so we just couldn’t stay, for fear of my health On top of this the cooker hob was broken, all furniture was old and chipped all ledges were dirty and the toilet would not flush Absolutely disgusting unfortunately Facebook won’t allow me to add pictures but I will leave them on any review platform I can needless to say the resort have refused us a refund ended up paying $1900 for a new, clean, hotel we enjoyed our Florida holiday but steer well clear of this discusting place!! Don’t make the same mistake we did

This hotel was probably one of the best I’ve stayed at in a while

I didn’t want to leave! I’ve traveled a lot lately for work and have had some pretty horrible stays elsewhere However, here, the bed was very comfortable, the room was clean and spacious, check in was easy and all the staff were very friendly!! The property is well maintained and clean Breakfast wasn’t bland, it was actually flavorful and filling I even appreciated the option to tip housekeeping digitally Thank you!!

Sonja Dicken

Nice, clean, comfortable place to stay We stayed for a week and they don’t offer daily maid service but you can put towels and trash in hall for them and pick up supplies at desk This worked fine for us or you can request maid service after 4 days

Breakfast was decent with typical eggs, sausage, waffles, hot or cold cereal, toast, yogurt Staff friendly and helpful Would recommend!

The house itself is very charming and clean The entire property is beautiful and well kept with excellent landscape and a water feature that makes for a very relaxing sitting area While we didn’t take advantage of it, the availability of bikes, beach towels, coolers, chairs, and umbrellas for the beach was awesome

Noted for next time that we can save space and not pack our own I loved the filtered water available in the fridge which made it easy to refill our reusable water bottles! Rosie was very personable and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed We will definitely be back the next time we’re in the area! Thanks again Rosie, Justin and I loved your place!

We just spent a wonderful weekend at Banyan House Rosie and Brett are amazing hosts and make their guests feel at home Our morning started with mimosas and a home cooked breakfast and no detail was missed

The rooms and grounds are beautiful with amenities including hot tub, pool, fitness room, and billiards They even have umbrellas at the front door if needed (and we did!) It was a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere and hope to return in the future

My boyfriend and I stayed here for Memorial Day weekend and we could not be happier with our decision on choosing the Banyan House! We stayed in the Palmetto room and it was so adorable and was exactly as pictured on the website Everything about the house was amazing, the decor, the pool, the hot tub, the grounds were gorgeous! It felt like a tropical getaway for sure!!Rosie was such a nice lady as well, she gave us a tour of the house and grounds upon our arrival She was very welcoming and an overall great person

We definitely were sad to leave after our mini vacation, and we we can’t wait to come back to the Banyan House!

At first I was a little disappointed that the room looked bigger in the photos, but honestly we had plenty of room We booked the deluxe queen suite The kitchen had everything we needed

The only issue was that the knives weren’t super sharp, but that wasn’t a huge deal The staff here is incredibly sweet and helpful and the whole vibe was like a little community We met the nicest people here and our 5 year old had a blast The pool was great and they have some extra pool toys on hand The beach was amazing We were blown away at how clear and calm the water was We were able to use our lounge floats in the ocean during the dayThe private beach was a plus It gets a little expensive to rent the chairs and umbrellas, but there’s also room to bring your ownWe really have no major complaints about this stay at all We had a fantastic time and the staff was there whenever we needed anythingI highly recommend staying here, especially for families

First time to Siesta Key and it won’t be our last Pleasantly surprised with our room Our room had recently had an update and it was beautifully appointed

While we ate dinners out, the kitchenette was great for breakfast and a quick, simple lunch Beds were comfortable Bathroom nicely done, like the thought of the alcoves in the shower for your shampoo, conditioner, etc Location and beach access could not have been better Staff at check in/out were so friendly Really could not have asked for a better stay

I have lived in Florida all of my life and love to visit all of the beaches here This wasa wonderful place to get to the beach on Siesta Key A little crowded for a “private beach” but that’s Florida! Close to quite a few really good restaurants, rentals for bikes and kayaks and the beach

The staff was WONDERFUL!! The beach is beautiful Our unit was very clean, spacious and had everything we needed to make our stay nice Having a kitchen was a big plus for eat in meals! The pullout sofa was much more comfortable than I thought it would be Would definitely stay here again!

I booked thins hotel through booking website and was set to arrive there late at night with my twin 7 year old children after a long day at bush gardens Wen we arrived close to 11 ok at night, my wife and children were exhausted from a long drive, as was I When I entered the hotel there were two sliding glass doors, one opened immediately the 2nd didn’t open right away, after knocking on the window to see if someone working there could help, I instinctively tried to see if the door was jammed, as often happens, and the 2nd door opened

When I entered the hotel a heavyset lady named Amy at the front desk immediately started yelling at me for opening the second door without a key When I informed her I had just got there and have not yet received the key for my reservation she told me that she would not be honoring my reservation I told her I was there with two sleepy kids so n the car and wished to speak with a manager as we had come a long way and didn’t have energy to find another hotel She exclaimed that she was the manager I said I wanted a refund then, and she coldly said I would not receive one and to leave or police would be called As I attempted to call the Marriott customer service number as she walked to the back room, I saw that she indeed did call the police…who accosted me in the lobby in front of 2 tired children just looking for a place to sleep Though the police agreed that she was ridiculous, they admitted there was nothing they could do, and that we had to leave, as she was the only representative of that hotel at that time Needless to say I will be filing a chargeback and complaint Beware of Amy, she seems to be an emotionally charged worker with no care for customer service, or even honoring reservations at her discretion The general manager will be notified, but I’d stay away from this place until then

This is neither the best nor worst Marriott hotel we have stayed in, but it was certainly the most expensive The room was the smallest of any Fairfield Hotels we stayed in during our trip, but it was clean Not having an armchair to sit in limits you to using the bed as your sitting area

The staff was friendly and helpful, but I feel this hotel is over priced for what you are getting as accommodation Of all the 6 or 7 Marriott hotels we stayed in during our travels in Dec 2021 and Jan 2022, this one was the most expensive by far and had the worst room The breakfast buffet was tasty with a lot of choice

Jeff Feld

Recently updated but horribly managed After checking in we were informed that there will be no housekeeping but once a week Also told to leave towels in the hall if we wanted new ones

When we exited the elevator to our room we were greeted with a hallway filled with dirty towels When I asked why we were told they were short staffed If you look at their website which takes the space to list over 75 “amenities”, you will find no mention that housekeeping, one of the most expensive components of running a hotel, has been essentially eliminatedEven more annoying was they are charging peak prices for the hotel I suspect if more people knew there was no housekeeping on mist days, before they booked, they might find other places to stay When I asked onsite management why this was the case they said they have a labor shortage When I asked a regional marketing executive they claimed it was all due to Covid I asked specifically what Covid restrictions require them to only clean once or twice a week I did not receive a response Tired of businesses using Covid as an excuse to charge full price and offer less service

I grew up in Daytona and thought I knew all that Florida had to offer

but then I found Venice and this amazing gem of a place Oh My Gosh It is perfect The beach is steps away and is hands down GORGEOUS Sugar sand, crystal blue water, gentle wavesswaying palm trees It’s heaven There’s a cute little mid-century snack bar with live music at dusk and all that you need for a quick drink or nosh The Inn is perfectly appointed Some of the nicest staff I’ve ever encountered and yes, the breakfast pastries are amazing! They always have cold water bottles on ice and plenty of beach accoutrements to grab and head down with The pool and hot tub are salt water and the perfect temps (BOTH) and every person we met with so friendly and lovely Then there’s Venice It looks like a dang movie set! Net-net, I almost didn’t want to write this because it’s so amazing

Everything was clean and the staff were very friendly and very helpful The hot tub and pool were crystal clean and clear with perfect temperatures! The beds and pillows were so comfortable and the rooms were quiet! We enjoyed the fresh complimentary coffee served each morning too The only complaint we had, (which is why I gave 4 stars), was there were not enough towels available to the guest! We went two days without any pool towels or bath towels

Overall thoughit was a wonderful stay!

Unexpectedly busy weekend, so some things like towels and toothbrushes were out, and some of the staff definitely had to go above and beyond Extra busy on Saturday because the hotel hosted a cage match Overall though, it all worked out quite well as it’s walkable to town and has very good food at reasonable prices

Great place to hang out with a group

Mary Unser

The rooms very small but extremely clean, the space in the bathroom is tight the bathroom door opens up into a wall which doesn’t give much room for the sinkThe card key that go into the door are very sensitive and every time I went into my room it took at least 3 to 5 times of putting the card in the slot before it would allow me to open the doorVery difficult to find the switches for the lamps I had to call the office to find out how the switches worked

On the plus side the couple that ran the breakfast in the mornings were the best I’ve ever seen in any hotel They were very attentive to our needs and we’re on the ball four picking up plates and we’re very pleasant and made the experience there wonderful, they were the best part of the hotel, oh also Scott the gentleman at the front desk in the morning he was also extremely friendly and a pleasure to deal with

This property is located within an easy walk to the beach and downtown Venice It is very convenient to the Legacy Bike Trail Our room was clean and had everything we needed during our 12-night stay

The pool is fun, and there are bikes available to use, as well as laundry machines and many beach items (chairs, coolers, etc) The fact that so many of the guests return year after year says a lot We have already booked for next year!

Ayeola Omolara

Had an amazing time! Mindy did an incredible job preparing the room Everything was very comfortable and clean As a housemaid myself, I have an eye for detail, so coming here I felt like I was receiving the royal treatment

The price was also very affordable too!! That was very important to me so I was very happy to have a 5 star vacation at a good price The bike that were available made it easy to bike to the beach and enjoy the sunset My boyfriend and I had a fabulous time and easy check-in!
