We initially booked a hotel in Wilkes Barre that was horrible! We took that loss and rebooked a room here because we just wanted to enjoy our evening out The front desk clerk was amazing, she helped upgrade us so we could enjoy the remaining of the evening Got to our suite and everything was perfect! Would definitely stay here each time I visit the area

Clean and comfy beds Big bathroom and shower The bar of soap they have here smells incredibly good

Check-in was easy Pool looked very inviting although it was only open until 10pm (we got here at 9:45) and we honestly were very tired anyhow It does open at 8am which is nice it’s open early Lots of outlets in room Lots of channels on TV to choose from Staff were very pleasant and explained the breakfast, fitness room and pool hours

Stayed at the Hampton for the night of our wedding The room was huge! There were some small amenities that really stood out like the make up remover towelette which I had forgottenThey have a small snack stand at the welcome desk – unfortunately not a variety of every day medications

Only other downfall was the pillows The bed itself was super comfy but the pillows were extremely flat even with using two of themThe staff was super nice and the complimentary breakfast and coffee was delicious Would definitely stay here again Unfortunately didnt get to check out the pool as we did not check in until almost 11

Our room was quiet, comfortable, tastefully decorated and lighted, and spotlessly clean Everyone was so helpful and kind But this was no ordinary perfect hotel! The opulent beauty of the old train station was evident in every area of the hotel

The stained glass, the tile mosaics, the fountains and woodwork – all make this a fantastic experience that we would love to come back again to And the food offered at Carmen’s and Trax was also excellent! I wish I could give more than 5 stars!

Joshua Clink

It is all about expectations When I first got here I felt disappointed but when I looked back on the information about the hotel, I realize I was expecting the hotel to be something its not There are not a lot of amenities but they embrace being a simple hotel done well

All the staff is friendly and helpful I never tried Carmen’s but it looks nice and the menu is easy to find Trax was good and had convenient hours The location is extremely convenient, walking distance to the mall and most of downtown And it is right at the entrance to the highway It is a beautiful and historic structure that is well cleaned

Rūta Povilaitytė

Looks good in the photos but needs renovation Our room smelled very bad, like chlorine, as well as the corridor and the elevator The windows do not open in our room and it was difficult to get rid of the smell by using air ventilation, but in a few hours it got better

Also, they charged us +70 dollars for a dog for one night, but there was nothing for the dog in there, neither dog bed or bowls or at least treats, nothingThe place has parking and the room is large, the bed is large and comfortable Apart from the chlorine smell, it was quite clean It has amenities like a tea machine, towels and self hygiene amenities (shower gel, shampoo, ), but they do not smell goodOverall it was OK for one night, I would come back again if not the chlorine smell

Great experience, relaxing, beds were amazing, staff was polite and eager to help, rooms were super clean and roomy They have an inside pool, it’s a little small for a hotel that size but it was clean, had a nice fire pit outside, it was very cold out so it was nice to sit by while smoking The breakfast was good, they had an ok variety

Will definitely stay there again!

Dani McDermott

Staff was absolutely wonderful and very agreeable It was lovely service Moved me to a better room

Better view and roomier bc the first one my wheelchair kept hitting the walls, but that could have been my daughter’s maneuvering, lol Not handicap friendly, but then again neither are most people when you’re trying to get in an elevator Shame Walls are waaay too thin! ‘Nough said But overall great stayAlso hilarious, can’t reach microwave, too high! lol

Marco

Management is lacking I was overcharged for two nights and been pushed from pillar to post trying to have it corrected Spoke with two members of management and three members of Marriott customer service

Someone from customer service is finally correcting the hotel’s error I recommend any other hotel in the area if you want to avoid a headache and lost time

Tina Kopilchack

Great stay! While looking for a room I found so many negative reviews I know Covid has been hard on businesses and there were pictures to back a lot of the bad reviews up so I didn’t have high hopes I’m a loyal Marriott fan so I figured I’d fare the best with a Marriott hotel and I’m glad I did

Other than having an odd location behind another hotel, everything was great! The young lady at the front desk was very friendly and professional; the hotel was nice; the room was clean and modern so no complaints about anything there The housekeeping staff only left one bar of soap so we had to use the same one from the sink for the shower but could have asked for another one Breakfast items were well stocked and had a great variety The only negative I had was that the gentleman who was helping there was cleaning the waffle maker and would then blow on it to get crumbs off – not sanitary at all Otherwise we were extremely happy with our stay, would recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again if needed!

Henry Long

For what it was, not half bad Kids enjoyed it Front desk awesome service, especially Meta

Could use a good, professional deep clean Pool and hot tub nice but in need of maintenance (loose handrails all around) The whole “No Local Rentals” things kind of weird I get it—It’s Wilkes-Barre But talk about disdain for your community Support the local economy, yes, but don’t let the community stay here? Is that even Legal? Also, don’t eat here Just don’t The “cook” said she makes the eggs “with love” and “prays over the food” That’s probably a good idea

Eric Ledgerwood

We arrived on a Fri morning at 9am after having to leave our previous hotel due to a truly horrible experience Not only were they able to provide us a room for the next two days, they upgraded us to a suite & we were able to get in right then at 9am They even offered my family breakfast! This is the Marriott experience we’ve come to know & love over the last 15 yrs of being rewards members

This saved our long weekend getaway and we still got the kids to the waterpark on time Thanks a Mil Mercedes!!

We reserved a room in this hotel, because we were just passing through Wilkes-Barre We did not need fancy amenities, just a clean room and quiet nights sleep This hotel DID NOT meet the bill

This hotel is aged, has holes in the walls (not because they are remodeling), and is definitely not quiet The breakfast was lack luster The hard boiled eggs that were served tasted like they were possibly frozen and defrosted Not goodThe people working there were nice and tried to provide good customer serviceThe cutsomer service did not make up for the facilityIf you are planning on staying in Wilkes-Barre you will want to choose a different hotel

Richard Cassidy

I was very disappointed in the fact that there was hair in the bes from the first room we went into and then the 2nd room smelled like cigarette smoke I usually don’t complain but to have 2 rooms in a row and due to my allergies it was a rough day We did not stay and thankfully found a hotel that was clean odor free and I had no reaction

Hospitality is also about sanitation as there are many like myself that have severe allergies and we should not have to be afraid of places we make reservations for a good night’s sleep

Fun and convenient casino to visit! Joe a Roulette table dealer is the bomb 🤩 he’s the absolute best to really have a good time with!! Restaurants are all delicious, but you need to make reservations The cooking show through the Rustic Kitchen is also a blast too!! W a group or not! Highly recommend making a reservation there, it’s a show you need to experience that at least once it’s a lot of fun and wine is generously paired and served with each course!!! 😍

Rock King

It’s pretty sad now The racing side is abandoned The rest rooms were filthy

Floors were badly in need of cleaning and urine smell was overwhelming 😫 The drinking fountains were still turned off for some reason Drink service was pitiful if you could even find a server Valet service no longer offered I don’t understand what happened Covid!? I’m sick of that being used as an excuse for everything BTW they never paid out much at the slots but they should be ashamed of the lack of winners I was here all day on a Tuesday and never heard anything positive from any patrons and no one was winning much of anything Just feeding bills into machines and if you get a bonus it payed like 500 max

Kendralove813 “Kendralove813”

Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs is amazing! If you visit for the day, there are many slots and table games to keep you happy and entertained Definitely get a momentum card so you can get credits to use for future visits Becoming a member also gives you the opportunity to get a free or discounted room in the hotel

The hotel is Beautiful, the rooms are awesome The decor alone makes you feel like a million bucks The customer service is always on point and they really are there to help in any way they can I have never had a bad experience with the casino or hotel I highly recommend checking it out The restaurants are also soooo delicious! It’s truly top quality

Best atmosphere! Amazing ,friendly crew! We stayed over one night on 6/15/22 from the moment we got there we felt welcomed Staff at a admiting to exiting were courteous, willing to do extraWe ate in the dining area, food was excellent, waiter so nice and made us feel special

Bartender attentive and professional Music played on piano was impressive A seasoned gentleman who knows how to please a crowd or a few Breakfast was just as good From banana pancakes,French toast, ham, sausage and more The chef came out wanting to make sure we were satisfied withbreakfast Best stay at any hotel and we have been to many Highly recommend

Max Aronow

I was super satisfied with my experience here! Firstly I commend the front desk staff (morning & night) for their commitment to customer service as well as the housekeeping staff for keeping the rooms so cleanThe rooms were perfect, if this hotel was in NYC or Philly it’d be way more expensive per night I was super happy with its close proximity to the FM Kirby center, we could just walk right through the little bus stop, through the alley, and we’re right there at the marquee

Breakfast was alright, not bad for a free buffet There’s a lot of things nearby, like the Boscov’s right through the bus stop alley which is handy in case you forgot anything The next day we were able to go to great outdoor locations for mild hikes in Nay Aud Park, Seven Tubs, and Hawk Falls

The Beaumont Inn has an enticing atmosphere with a pleasant staff The restaurant was clean and invitingThe French Onion soup was tasty, and the lump crab cakes were delicious

One can replace tartar sauce with cocktail sauce upon requestThe Shrimp Scampi (28) wasn’t very good The homemade linguine was a nice touch, as it wasn’t thick and unmanageable, and the shrimp were large and filling; however, the scampi sauce was akin to a garlic soup, and completely overpowered the lemon and white wine flavors I made an effort just to finish the shrimp, and left much of the linguine on the dish untouchedThe Chicken Marsala ($24) was fine The chicken was a bit dry, and the sauce a bit salty, but overall the dish was pleasingThe White Chocolate Blueberry Cobbler was rich and smooth, and comes highly recommended The chocolate cake was also very rich and a sure go-toThe Beaumont Inn has fine dining pricing, but misses the mark with their entrees Some adjustments can be made to justify the cost

Dave Decker

I stayed here for two nights in early May I arrived very late – the staff had gone home, and the folks at the front desk were very accommodating about leaving me a key The Inn is very clean, up to date and had lots of amenities

The food here is awesome and the staff very friendly The grounds are spectacular and the scenery is too I don’t know the history of the Beaumont, it looks like it’s had its ups and downs over time, but this team and this place are at the top of their game and it was a very enjoyable, restful place to spend a weekend I’d return in a heartbeat

We have stayed at this hotel several times and it’s consistently well maintained, convenient, pet friendly with helpful friendly staff This trip we accidentally left an article and 30 minutes later when we discovered our oversight I called the front desk, the clerk immediately sent the housekeeping supervisor up to the room The article was found and placed in the safe for us to retrieve on our return trip

We were so thankful for the immediate action

I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this bed-and-breakfast The house is one of the most amazing houses I’ve ever been inside of and the attention to detail Is second to none I stayed in the Amelia room which is stunning and for the price we paid it was the best deal I think I’ve ever gotten for a place to stay at the level this was

The owner and operator is on site his name is Joe and he is personable and will show you around the house I spent hours just walking around and looking at all the antiques that are in this house We stayed here and went to the casino and a concert for four days I would definitely come back and recommend this place and give it five stars I’m a tough critic and I was very very impressed with my stay here

ANTHONY CARRIER

We went there for a tour of the mansion We had a lovely lunch and wonderful desserts We also sampled a couple of Stegmaier beers a great tasting IPA and a spirited Pumpkin Spice, yummy! We also sampled their chef made dark chocolate sea salt caramels

Staff was friendly and helpful We were entertained by a barbershop quartet The mansion’s owner was friendly and knowledgeable about the mansion’s history and the Stegmaier family’s beer and brewery history Very ornate inside, more like eye candy It’s also a bed and breakfast Plan to return there in the future to stay overnight Highly recommend Constant Traveler

Janet Smith

This mansion is a must see if you are anywhere near Joe took years to renovate every detail from the antique furniture to the painted ceilings It is a step back in time to a period of ice-cream socials and afternoon teas, with the elite

Joe put his heart and soul into this project and it shows in every detail Don’t miss the chance to see and stay in one of the cozy bedrooms and enjoy the amazing food and service It is an experience you will treasure for years to come

Spacious room with two queen beds and a sleep sofa With all in use and four guests we still had room to be comfortable Microwave and refrigerator in the room

Nice work desk set up with plenty of outlets and space which also served to separate the two beds from the sleep sofa All the staff was helpful and friendly I fell in love with the cucumber infused water in the lobby! And the breakfast, included for free, was the best I’ve had in a long time Of course a make your own waffle machine, excellent coffee, eggs bacon, pound cake, delicious mini quiches on Sunday And it was open at 6:30 or sometimes even a little earlier so we were able to get breakfast before our early departures for kayaking on the Lehigh Great location for all the tourist attractions, shopping and conveniences Our kayaking trip felt luxurious The bathroom was oddly large with only one towel bar and not a hook to be found anywhere Overall a great stay

Melinda Lewis

My husband and I loved how comfortable the bed was the shower seems like it had endless hot waterthe rooms were very clean and the reception at the desk was very friendly and helpful whenever we had a question about something! The different kind of water in the lobby were amazing the best flavor was the strawberry! The morning breakfast were amazing expeecially not that far from our room and the chairs and fire pit was very nice out side! We found out favorite place to stay and when we come back down to the area again we found out perfect spot!!! Loved it here and it went bye 2 quickly I told my husband 2 days isn’t enough 😂

Errol Van Stralen

I stayed twice, different rooms But that maintenance issues that I reported to the front desk (one issue two times) they were never taken care ofIn one room, a bedside table was missing

(Where to put stuff?) One bathroom shower door opened so that I could not reach the shower controls without getting into the shower first I like to let the cold water flow out so the water can be warm when I do get into itZero complaints about the staff I interacted with, all were cheerful and went out of the way to make my stay that much better The rooms were lackingReader, is any review here helps you to decide, please give that review a thumbs up!

This was our second trip through the area and we liked the hotel so much last year that we stayed again This time we added the room service option The king deluxe suite was perfect, clean and large

The handle on the cabinet holding the mini fridge was broken but that’s very easy to work around Check in was extremely quick and helpful Two very nice men were at the desk The food from the bistro was delicious Bathroom was huge, The shower while not what i was hoping for (would have preferred a bathtub for the small human) was beautiful and luxurious Nothing better than an easy check-in, hot meal, hot shower and comfy bed after a long day on the road

Liline

I don’t even know where to begin with this place it was my first time there , we booked through a third party when we got there with our two twelve-year-old kids the place look very nice and the front desk attendance was very nice and friendly however ; when we got to our room , the room we booked was not the same room that we got That was one problem, second when we pull the blanket back to sleep there was food crumbs all over the bed 🛌

We called the front desk the lady came with fresh blankets she asked me if she should change the blanket or if I wanted to change it I told her no problem I will fix the bed with the new sheets The manager offer to change our room to a cleaner room with one king size bed and a pull-out couch 🛋 for the boysI told them that was okay don’t worry about it we will check out the next day as we was getting ready to get checked out there was a bug on my sheets I would not go back to this hotel although the manager refund us for the night ,the general manager after several phone calls

Maria Vestal

The hotel overall was great Very clean, lovely staff and well maintained facility So happy we chose here over staying at Mohegan Sun! I do want to point out one exceptional person

He was a waiter in the on site Bistro Wildflowers His name was Khalid We sat down to eat and it did not matter what I forgot to ask for because this gentleman was on top of it He asked if I wanted it before I had a chance to forget it! And the way he described the food when asked about it made me instantly want to eat that! And the food did not disappoint He was friendly, personable and professional This hotel is lucky to have him

Cecelia & Gordon were excellent host & hostess! They were very patient when I kept calling to say I was running later, and later, for my arrival When I finally got there, Gordon helped me with my bags and Cecelia even found a nearby restaurant for me to get a late supper, just before they closed the kitchenThe house was lovely, and my room was clean, pretty, and had some thoughtful touches

Breakfast was delicious and served with style, complete with china, crystal, and my homemade muffin was served straight out of a piping hot cloth napkinI had some special needs, and Cecelia & Gordon were very accommodating My stay was for one night, only, but I wish I could have stayed longer, to relax, explore, and appreciate everything that Hillard House, and Wilkes-Barre, has to offer I will, happily, stay here again, if ever I return to the area Thank you, Cecelia & Gordon, for making things so easy and comfortable!

We had a lovely one night stay in the suite The house is full of lovely details to stop and appreciate The walls of this high ceiling house include many period prints, awards, and cross stitches

There is even a fun little elevator that took our bags upThe hosts are helpful and welcoming The breakfast they provided was brought out in well timed courses that let you enjoy each Breakfast was served in darling peacock chinaGreat spot to stay if you are in town for a show or to visit a college

Our stay with Cecelia & Gordon was an amazing time We celebrated an anniversary there and the house was immaculate and very cozy The suite we booked was much larger than we expected and was such a great value

Our time was short as we only stayed one night Despite this, we loved utilizing the very deep tub with the jets My partner and I are both very tall and we were able to both sit very comfortably in the tub with plenty of room to spare! The breakfast served was delicious and we left full I highly recommend staying here if in the area!

Very nice hotel Everything was very clean and the staff were all very friendly Had a nice pool which unfortunately was not able to use on this trip

The hot breakfast buffet in the morning had a good variety of food to choose from and it was deliciousOne suggestion I would make to people who are light sleepers is that you request an odd # room so your not located on the side closest to the turnpike

I’ve been here for more than a week, and getting to know Katie and her staff has absolutely been a treat Every single staff member has been absolutely tentative and accommodatingThey serve hot breakfast daily— which is a step up for me considering I typically just get conventional, And they are very personable

It’s the best hotel experience I’ve had in such a long time Thank you, everyone !

First let me say this is my 2nd time staying at this hotel over a holiday weekend and the service is always above and beyond The lady at the front desk was AMAZING she greeted me kindly, had everything ready for my room and I even had a glitch where I clogged my toilet and she very kindly came to unclog it Her kindness meant the world to me

Room was great and breakfast was excellent! I really hope that management reads this and gives Kuddos and bonuses to everyone working memorial day weekend The employees at this location really are doing a great job with quality I’m very satisfied with my stay Thank you to all

This hands down is the BEST place to stay when you visit Pittston PA!!! It’s nice, warm and welcoming The food and rooms are really nice and clean (even with Covid going around out here in the world they kept it very clean) But for me what makes this place the best is Katie and her wonderful staff! Without them I don’t think my 4-5 weeks there would have been enjoyable! The staff is amazing!! Courteous, kind, caring, friendly and just overall very out going! And it all comes from their awesome manager Katie!!! She is super sweet with and amazing personality and goes way above the call for her staff and her guests… I wouldn’t even call us guests with the way we were treated… I’d say family!!!! Katie and her staff treated us like family!!! Always checking in with us when we came back to the hotel or just taking the time to ask how was our day (and actually wanting to know)

Just the little things that made it all the best!!! So with that being said if you want a hotel that will treat you right and that is actually genuine then don’t hesitate and go book your room here I promise you will NOT regret it!!!One truly happy and overly satisfied customer/guest Dana and Emery

Had a bad experience at another hotel and left the same day within a couple of minutes of being there Just booked another hotel in a couple of minutes and went to the hotel The lady at the front desk was very kind

Went up to my room and the room was very nice and it was clean It has like a hidden mini fridge, microwave, and ice bucket which I liked cause it wasn’t in the way and didn’t take up more room The bathroom was clean and there was lots of towels and wash clothes The tv was in a mount so you could turn to watch it while sitting on the bed 10/10 would recommend and would come back if in the area again Hotel is in a convenient area

The hotel is beautiful and in an awesome location! My issue is the lack of care by some on the staff and management We had an issue during our stay we brought it to the attention of the clerk who DID NOTHING

I called and asked for a manager, this is the kicker, the manager answered and identified herself by name and asked how could she help me I said yes, I have been trying to reach you This lady said, please hold a second Not to long after a clerk picks up and says, the manager is not available and won’t be until the next day I was so shocked and get this 3 weeks later this property still have my small incidental charge being held I definitely upstream this with proof of everything that took place and the lack of addressing the issue It may not happen today or tomorrow but, it’s coming! To pretend to not be at work in hopes of not dealing with an issue is horrible and this manager needs Coaching!

Ryan

The room was clean on our arrival and the staff is very niceWe typically stay at Marriotts when we travel Our room this time has the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept on in my life

The extra firm mattress woke both of us multiple times in the night and we both woke up with back and shoulder pain
