We were greeted by a wonderful young gentleman when we arrived Justin made sure our check in process went very smoothly and he was able to help us extend our stay when we decided to stay an extra night Justin was professional, kind, and thorough

In the customer service industry, he is top notch In my opinion he could teach classes in that regardOur only constructive feedback would be that perhaps the breakfast area could offer a few limited gluten free options as well as dairy free for those who require that dietary need

Jean Knutson

Check-in and out was friendly and professional Justin was so professional and very kind Gregg provided a good and well-cooked breakfast

Not always seen at hotel breakfast offerings Nick got us out quickly with a smile Our room was exceptionally clean (and I am brutally OCD) Thank you, Isaiah (heard that was you)! Restaurants close and easy on and off the interstate

If you want to waste a lot of time finding a place to stay you picked the right group Could not book a room on the app or the website Waited on the phone for over 25 minutes and then the price is conveniently $40 more

I’ll pass, I don’t have that much time There are plenty of hotels that have efficient reservation processes This is the second time in three stays, never again!! Sad because the hotels are beautiful but not worth the headache

Anika Logan

Their still doing no cleaning due to Covid however I didn’t know that meant public areas too You’ll be waiting on the phone trying to book an reservation for 5-10 minutes, which is ridiculous The manager Samantha is absolutely rude

When asking simply questions she seem anxious and irritated Truthfully if they revived a different manager I feel as tho this hotel could be a nice However Melvin at the front desk was very nice and helpful

Brooke Schaefer

Clean, updated, spacious rooms I like there’s a “market” in the building for snacks that may have been forgotten for the trip

Having Starbucks coffee in the lobby is always an awesome feature Staff is friendly and helpful Just wish they had things in the rooms saying when the snack/drink bar closed Or a list of nearby restaurants that delivered to the hotel

Terry at the front desk was wonderful She is kind, personable and upbeat She got us the late checkout we needed

Our room was nice and comfortable and the hotel was quiet My one complaint was with the night staff She was rude Seemed like I was bothering her by asking for juice 30 minutes before breakfast Another employee was nice enough to help me Over all a good experience I’m not sure they should have someone with such a negative demeanor working their front desk, even if it is overnight

David Kellermeyer

I almost always book at Hampton Inn

I like the chain and it is generally reliable I seldom if ever write reviews My advice would be to avoid this particular Hampton Inn The property seems old and a bit run down There is a single elevator for a three story hotel No ice machines on either the second or third floor The parking area design is poor I don’t know how well the hotel is managedthe check-in clerk took forever to get me a room and then sent me to a room that wasn’t ready for occupancy I hate to write this, as I am a loyal customer of Hampton, but I would advise people to find a different hotel in the St Paul area I will continue to stay at Hampton Inns, but not at this one

Cassandra Rose

Staff is friendly and the breakfast was good but the rooms are tiny, the bed squeaked every time we moved and there were stains on several things in our room (curtains, desk chair, lounge chair) Hot tub isn’t working either which isn’t a huge deal but it’s one of the only amenities The building is also in a shared parking lot so it was really loud in our first floor room starting around 6am

Stayed at hotel for honeymoon and it was perfect Amazing food delivered to the room from the restaurant, all staff were friendly and accommodating Everything was clean and loved the suite, the tub is large enough even my 6’5” hubby was able to comfortably relax and bathe

The common area was luxurious so it was nice to have a quiet meal in the room one night and play cards with a local friend Definitely want to go back! The rooftop bar was amazing as well!!

Emilie Christensen

I have stayed at Omni Viking Lakes a few times, and there are a some things that keep me coming back The hotel is beautiful! The Nordic Viking theme is just perfect, with subtle and tasteful nods to the Purple&Gold Vikings who’s training facility is just next door This hotel is high end while still being inviting and comfortable

Side note: If you are a MN Vikings fan, you just might end up having a drink and some great conversation with a player or coach ;)The rooms and spaces are exceptionally clean and well appointed The staff- from the front desk to the restaurant, and bar staff- have all been so kind, professional, and welcomingTheir loyalty program is so thoughtful! Sometimes a glass of champagne at check in, complimentary wine/beer at the lounges or restaurants, or complimentary coffee from the in-house Caribou Coffee branded shop are always so appreciated I recently also booked services at the spa and it was truly a luxury experienceSo, with all of the hotels to choose from in the area, I’ll continue to come to Omni

Cassandra Krzebietke

This place is excellent My fiancé and I booked a regular room and were able to upgrade to a suite for half the price We had a huge bathtub and shower room

Very clean room, comfy bedThe food down at the restaurant is good too Only complaint I have is the fries were not all that great But my Korean Fried Chicken sandwich and his steak was so yummy! We had breakfast down at the little coffee shop (wasn’t great for the price…)We also got couples massages at the spa and were treated like royalty when we went in there You can use the spa all day if you book a serviceOverall, it was a nice and enjoyable experience We were sad to leave!

Neasha Tanner

Clearly have a back up plan before staying here I booked a suite because we have two set of twins to only find out that they completely changed my reservation with no explanation phone call or anything Manger didn’t seem to care much and no one tried to fix the situation

I book my reservation well in advance It was booked September 2021 I hope I never have to book here again I didn’t even want to give it a star Please have a back up plan!

Audrey Geissinger

I think if no one has ever stayed here when it was the Sheraton then one would think this was a nice hotel Ever since it switched to Marriott this place has disappointed This time no cold water for a shower, no room service even though they advertise as such, room wasn’t ready at 3pm and my door was damaged and had to be repaired as it wouldn’t shut

The staff really tried and were pleasant The only reason I stayed here again was because of business I had in town I will absolutely not stay here again

Although the hotel was recently remodeled and looked nice there seemed to be some deeper issues The elevators were slow and noisy and didn’t seem to run wellWe had dozens of ants in our room

The ants were in our bathroom as well as on the dresser in the main room The room also did not include a hair dry and a burnt out light bulb in the the bed side table (We did not complain until checkout as we arrived late and were gone all day We noticed the ants when we got back but we leaving early the next morning)When we mentioned the ants and light bulb to the front desk staff at check out they didn’t take note of our room number It was clear they either knew about the ant problem in the hotel or didn’t care they have an ant problem We did not ask for or expect any compensation and were only interested in seeing they cared about the issues This is not a cheap hotel and I expected much better at this price point

Zebulen Dickey

I am a Hilton Honors member and made a reservation at this location for one night being in town for work I had stayed here multiple times before because of its location and I liked the rooms I was asked to show the card I planned on using to pay for the room(the same card I used to make the reservation) and was told that they could not accept it

I explained to the gentleman at the front counter that it was a business card that I use while traveling and have used it at this location before as recently as the week before He said that was irrelevant and he couldn’t do anything to help I was quite furious when I left Especially because it was 1030 at night and I was exhausted I got to my vehicle, cancelled my reservation and made another one at the Hampton Inn 5 minutes down the road and didn’t have any issues paying with the same card that was turned down earlierI don’t ever plan on recommending this location to anyone nor do I plan on staying here againThank you

Kacey Hammer

Rooms and public spaces were clean, which is rare these days Housekeepers said hi when they saw us in the hallways, which is niceFront desk staff wasn’t very friendly and they forgot to fulfill our request a few times

Elevator was very slow the last day When we asked about it, the front desk was obviously irritated that they had to answer about the slow elevatorPool is indoors but well maintained and clean with towels at the ready

The lobby is nice Valet parking was convenient The morning we left, there were dozens of other people leaving too and waiting for valet

The desk staff and valet people were really hustling and did a good job getting lots of cars quicklyThe room was not great There was no mattress pad on the bedjust a fitted sheet directly on the mattress The room was not cleaned well There was dried mascara on the sink leftover from a previous guest The door handles and high touch surfaces had residue and marks showing that they clearly take no time to wipe down or properly clean such areas The shower was not cleanTheir saving grace is that they are right across the street from the excel center, which is convenient for attending events However, it may be worth it to stay elsewhere in a cleaner room and take an Uber or pay for event parking instead!

Bethany Rose Larson

We were in town for a difficult family trip (saying goodbye to a loved one), so for us, this place was a haven of much-needed rest It’s been recently remodeled and has a new feel, even though you can tell by the ceilings that the building has old bones The room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast room packed but kept up with, and most memorable were the staff, who were kind and helpful

The only thing I wish I would have known about beforehand was that there was a parking lot *right* behind the hotel, which could have saved us the $35 valet fee (though the valet guys were great) We literally walked into our room, opened the windows, and looked down onto the park-and-pay parking lot It would have been a short walk up a hill and around a corner with our suitcases, definitely worth the $35 plus tips! Oh well! If we’d been having a sight-seeing trip, it would have been a perfect location for downtown events and the riverwalk Another time, perhaps!

Tara Miller

We went to a Minnesota Wild game, and love the convenience and location of the hotel to the Xcel Energy You are given valet parking, so you don’t have to find a spot to park and pricing is reasonable They have breakfast in the morning from 6 to 10 am

we have stayed there a few times for games and all the experiences have been good Would reccommend

We appreciated that this hotel went the extra mile in helping us secure a room block for our wedding and arrange transportation to take one thing off our list Renee was great to work with and we enjoyed our stay at this hotel for the big day Loved having a fresh hot breakfast served each morning as well

The only improvement I would suggest would be making it easier for guests in the room block to book their rooms; they have to call the hotel and I heard some guests had to try a couple of times to get it done

I cannot say enough good things about this place I have no complaints The staff does an AMAZING job! The housekeeping staff takes the cake here

Soooo kind, professional, and thorough Breakfast options were plenty! Beds were comfy, pool area was clean and very well maintained I would recommend this place to anyone who’s looking for 5 star treatment with a balling on a budget lifestyle

Friedericke Wowerat (FredW414)

My room was clean and we had a decent night’s sleep I walked into the Hotel and the desk person was sitting in a chair I didn’t know that he was the desk person

While I checked in a woman asked for towels for the pool area and since the person was checking me in, he didn’t tend to her needs immediately She actually waited for awhile When I checked in he proceeded to put a $150 hold on my card for incidentals, because I prepaid through a third party I personally didn’t care for this because I checked in at approximately 5:15pm and checked out at 6am the next morning Still waiting for the charge to go back on my card SmhI never experienced this at other Country Inn and Suite locations even when I purchase through a third partyAs I was checking out at 6am there were family members in the lobby? It actually made me feel somewhat uncomfortable I probably won’t stay at this location again because I didn’t feel fully comfortable

Overall a decent stay The Jacuzzi suite really is what it looks like in the pictures, saddest part being that it’s is right there when you walk in the door so if your partner goes out/comes in while you are enjoying it, you risk being seen by anyone in the hallway Late check out was an option -11am was extended to 1pm for a reasonable $26

85 The location however seemed weird and there is no view from that particular room

Facility is nice, however, nothing went according to plan Got two rooms and requested them adjoining, they weren’t When I first got here they had the rooms in opposite sides of the hotel

Had 3 kids with me with 2 teenagers and under the impression the room slept 6 but only 2 beds No pull out couch, only the floor Very noisy, however, there was a wrestling tournament in town so lots of kids Mini fridge was full of ice so couldn’t really use because nothing fit Overall the place seemed clean and updated Not an ideal experience

We stayed at this a courtyard by Marriott on Thursday March 24th and rented 2 rooms, one for my family and one for my sister’s family When we arrived, Matthew the Operations Manager (which he told us over and over again), checked us in The check in process took 20 minutes and at the end he asked us if we planned to leave our car while traveling, to which we answered yes

He rolled his eyes and became very clearly frustrated and explained how he would have to do everything over and how much more expensive it would be, which we were fine with Our kids were getting restless which was clearly distracting to him and he raised his voice at my sister and I that the kids needed to “sit down and be quiet”When we finally got to our room I called the front desk to ask if we could order pizza and have it delivered to the pool The person who answered said yes Once at the pool, Matt the Operations Manager came to our table, raised his voice that we could not have food in the pool We explained what the front desk said but he said we had to “get out” of the pool area and that he would be standing there to make a sure we leftOnce back in our room I got a call from the front desk that we needed to being our friends and family documents to the front desk They never asked for them when we checked in and refused to let me email them to them like I have at every other Marriott we have used a friends and family discount at Both of my kids were sleeping so I could not go use their printer and provide them to them The woman who called explained she would be adjusting our room to the regular rate because I would not bring them down It should be a basic expectation that they ask for these documents at check in and I should not have been further inconvenienced or treated like I was acting deceptively because of their oversight and lack of operational abilityThe final straw for us was we had dirty glasses, sheets and floor in our room Also, In advance I verified they had a shuttle service to the airport and they confirmed they did starting at 4 AM When we called to set that up they said it didn’t start until 5 AM making it totally purposeless for us to stay thereWe have been Marriott members for a long time and our family always appreciates the care and service we receive at every Marriott property This location, and specifically Matt the Operations Manager, is the exact opposite of the brand and quality Marriott works so hard to lead by example with This was a terrible start to our vacation and we will reconsider our use of Marriott going forward

Laura

Got a different room than booked, charged differently than they said over the phone, sinking bed, literally even just looking at it you can see it dip towards the middle, loudest neighbor possible Then we were charged a security deposit and that was never told to us, plus they stated it could take 39 days to come back As for a roof over our head and running water, it served it’s purpose but would not stay here again

Lela Steffes

When we pulled in, the lot was nice and clean We made our way into the lobby, which seemed really nice and clean The girl at the counter was sitting there with her phone and earbuds in

I asked where the bathroom was and then she got up and pointed the way She was nice enough, but seemed sort of lazy I went to the restroom and my husband checked us in He said she acted as if she didn’t really want to be there She also told him that they were pretty short-staffed and all the rooms hadn’t been cleaned yet since the weekend started Okaaaay Why would you tell that?? When I was in the bathroom, I noticed that it really needed some tidy-ing up There was toilet paper and paper towels all over the floor and the soap container needed to be filled up There was soap all over the vanity I thought to myself that our room better not look like that We went to the entrance where I room was closest to and there was a garbage can that was completely overflowing I thought that instead of sitting on her bum at the front desk, that girl could have been tending to these issues It just made a nice place look bad I liked our room Nice space and clean But the beds are old and not at all comfy for two people in one bed I think our son slept like a baby (but he’s a teenager and would have slept as well on the floor! Haha!) The mattresses are just way to soft and ours had a slant to it on one side In the bathroom the exhaust fan didn’t work, it was very dark to take a shower and the water went ICE COLD on me for about 20 seconds That woke me up! Also, the drain in the sink smelled like mold and made me gag when I had to brush my teeth or wash my face I guess we got our money’s worth If the things I mentioned were addressed, I could have easily given it 5 stars I’m giving it 3 just because of the mattress and I didn’t get a lot of sleep

Eva Gallant

Excellent customer service! I took advantage of the park and fly option which is super convenient and affordably priced—keeping away the hassle associated with traveling Upon arrival, ALec who checked me in couldn’t have been more excellent and more patient in explaining everything, since I will be with a pet upon my return From making the reservation to checking out every employee was very friendly and professional

This Best Western goes above and beyond to help ease your travel Additionally, the rooms were very clean and spacious, and the bed was super comfy Great assortment of amenities, along with a fridge and microwave I am already looking forward to my return stay

My wife and I stayed here and had the king suite in room 228 on 8/12/22-8/14/22 We checked on that Friday 8/12 and went out on the town Upon our return, we got ready for bed, only to notice crunched up chips all over our sheets in our bed

I went down to the front desk and was given a whole set of new sheets my wife and I put on ourselves Omar, the gentleman working took note of our issue and stated we had to call back on Monday and speak with the managerI called back and spoke with Rose, the manager, and she said all she could offer was a $30 discount I explained I did not think that was reasonable that I paid $500 for a 2 night stay in which I had to change my own sheets, on top of having the icky feeling our room wasn’t even cleaned She was very rude, after asking who else I could speak with She said it was just her and hung up the phone DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

The king jacuzzi suit exceeded my expectations My only complaint was that the room was about 58° when we got there Good thing there was a fireplace! And the direct TV was somehow not connected

We had to jiggle and fiddle with everything, but got it workingHighly recommend staying here for a quick getaway

Stayed at this hotel with my entire extended family for a funeral Staff was extremely friendly and courteous and the General Manager Lynne was a great help in helping make arrangements for dinner at the adjoining Machine Shed (which was delicious)The hotel is very clean, and the lobby is beautiful

Very comfortable beds and large bathrooms is a plus The pool area is incredibly spacious and the kids loved itWill definitely be staying here again

Clean rooms and great staff, but the floor plan is very odd Many of the rooms look into the pool which itself isn’t bad, but the windows are very thin and the pool doesn’t close until 11:00pm This can be a problem if you are here for business or if you like to get to bed early

However, good prices, clean rooms, and helpful staff makes this hotel a good place to stay in St Paul

Black hole of a room Overall, the hotel was fairly nice, typical Holiday Inn…HOWEVER, our room had absolutely no natural light coming in

We had a window, but it faced a wall Pitch black at all hours Hard to relax, when you have no idea what it’s like outside, or cues that it’s getting late, etc We (spouse and kids) slept terribly as we all kept waking up at various times afraid we’d oversleep (yes, we used an alarm clock), since we had no other cues it was morning Pic was taken before checkout at 9:30 am, just to show how ridiculous it wasWas never informed our room was like that when making booking, or calling in to confirm that day Unable to get new room as hotel was booked No refund as prepaid for best price We’re done with the IHG brand after this

The outside does have a vintage feel, which I like The people at the front desk were friendly and helpful They even gave me a complementary pack of water and snacks, which I thought was a nice touch

Something you don’t find in large corporate hotel chains My room was updated, with all the modern conveniences I would expect The bedding was clean and smelt great! I would recommend this hotel to anyone

Very easy to get to, right off the interstate New ownership has updated the rooms, they are nice There is ice available, they give you a bag of snacks and waters as a welcome to the motel

The staff is very good at attending to any requests such as needing more towels, shampoo, soap, etc It’s a really great place now, at a decent price

This place is a fantastic stop to rest of you are traveling through the North West We are from Montana and drove out to Pennsylvania for a wedding We have tried other motels in the area in Hudson, WI (that’s our half way point when we travel to see family in PA) Iike the Super 8 and Regency Inn-but the Royal was the best by far! Fantastic customer service, and the rooms were so nice and clean and welcoming! No musty smells, silly breakfast with things most wouldn’t eat, or sketchy feelings about the area

And the beds are actually COMFORTABLE! You also get to park your car right outside the room you stay in for easy access to your things! To top it all off, they offer a fantastically reasonable priceWe will be staying at the Royal Inn when we drive out East from here forward 😊
